2. Beze Albert Herff-Beze Hall (pronounced Bee-zee) is located at the east end of campus directly behind Mabee Dining Hall. All three floors of Beze house men and women. Renovations including study and social lounge spaces came to Beze in the summer of 2005. Beze is designed with public walkways (room doors open directly to the outside).
3. Calvert Calvert Hall is the first-year student residence hall nearest to upper campus (particularly the Coates University Center). It is part of the traditional first-year student quad, which also includes Miller, Winn, and Witt Halls. Men and women are assigned to all three floors. Calvert is designed with public walkways (room doors open directly to the outside). It is undergoing a full renovation this summer.
4. Herndon Harold D. Herndon Hall is located on the east end of campus directly behind Mabee Dining Hall and adjacent to two other first-year halls - Beze Hall to the south and Winn Hall to the north. All three floors of Herndon house men and women in alternating suites. All rooms view a park-like area. Renovations came to Herndon in the summer of 2006, including new carpet and free-standing furniture. Herndon is designed with public walkways (room doors open directly to the outside).
5. McLean Verna McLean Hall is located on the east side of campus near the south campus recreation area, across the parking lot from the Bell Athletic Center, and next door to Mabee Dining Hall. McLean houses first year students on the second floor and upper-class students on all other floors. Balconies are shared with wall-mates.
6. Miller C.W. Miller Hall is located in the middle of the traditional first-year student quad on east campus. This hall is conveniently located near Mabee Dinning Hall and within a short distance of the Coates University Center. Miller is designed with public walkways (room doors open directly to the outside). This building was fully renovated in the summer of 2009.
7. Winn 1st Carleton R. Winn Hall is located in the middle of the first-year quad area on the east side of campus. Winn is located next to Mabee Dining Hall and directly behind the Witt Reception Center. Long interior corridors host 60 residents on each floor. Balconies are shared with wall-mates. Men and women occupy all three floors.

Witt's small interior corridors connect to the larger Winn Hall. Men and women are housed on all three floors. Balconies are shared with wallmates.
