You may have set a personal goal for yourself to earn a new certification by professional scrum
master training, whether for professional recognition or personal achievement. Certifications you
earn this way may be the most satisfying, as you are rewarding yourself for your own efforts. If it
happens to lead to a raise, promotion and recognition - so much the better. In many instances,
these are also the hardest to earn because of the self-motivation and discipline required where
there aren't any tangible rewards. But Certification alone doesn't demonstrate your
understanding, It demonstrates your knowledge or in other words awareness, But what do you

There are multiple Organizations that will help you start your journey as a "Scrum Master", but
in this Specific post we are going to focus on Scrum.org
The Scrum.org - PSM training online certification is different. Attendance at a course is not
mandatory. It is much tougher to achieve the PSM certification, so it guarantees a certain level of
understanding of Scrum. There are 3 levels of PSM which has been illustrated below,

Certification
To receive a Professional certification, you need to prove your knowledge, understanding and
ability to apply Scrum in the real-world. That is why we have decoupled our certification
assessments from our training. Although each Scrum.org training class includes a free attempt at
a Scrum.org assessment, you still need to prove your knowledge by passing the assessment test
with a score of 85% or better to receive the associated Professional certification.
No additional costs
Once you receive a Professional Scrum certification by passing the assessment, you keep that
certification and remain listed on our website as being a Professional forever. You do not need
to retest as you have already proved your knowledge, nor do you need to pay additional money
to retain that certification.
