ST THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC
    TEACHING SCHOOL
The RE
       Department
• Rated ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED
    and Section 48 (RE) OFSTED.
• A team of friendly and supportive
staff who will help you achieve
    your goals.
• 115 sixth form students studying
RE A level, this is more than any
    other department within the
    school.
• Excellent results both at GCSE and
    A level
A Level success

The Department received a
judgement of very good for results at
A level for AS and A2.

Despite our large numbers studying
A level there is a close supportive
relationship between teachers and
students.
Year 9 and
                        GCSE

All students study RE at St Thomas More.
The year 9 course reflects on our personal faith journeys, faith
in action, work of charities, other world faiths and human
rights issues.

For GCSE all students complete two modules exploring
contemporary issues in society from a Christian perspective.
However due to our rich culturally diverse community,
lessons will always include a reflection of individual views
and the views of all world religions.
BUSINESS STUDIES
• The business department achieved 84.4% * to C grades at
  GCSE

• A group of Year 12 pupils competed in the Cranfield business
challenge and came 3 rd out of 19 groups beating all the other
  teams from Bedford schools.
• The Young Enterprise
  Company sold their goods at
  both the Bedford and the
  Milton Keynes fayres.
