The document summarizes events happening in March at Touchmark at Harwood Groves, a retirement community in Fargo, ND. It highlights several musical performances, including a presentation on bagpipes and Celtic music. Residents will take trips to local attractions like a Celtic festival and symphony performance. St. Patrick's Day will be celebrated with a pub crawl around Fargo. Educational sessions called "Lunch 'n Learns" will cover financial planning, home preparation for sale, and downsizing. Indoor gardening and birthday celebrations are also scheduled. The calendar provides activities to engage the mind, body, and spirit for residents.

TOUCHMARK AT HARWOOD GROVES
Love can happen when you least expect it—
and it can last a lifetime
John & Norma Finnie - “Mother
knows best”
The saying “mother knows best” applies to how
John and Norman Finnies met. John’s stepfather
was the chauffer for the NDSU president, who
was Norma’s uncle. One day, John’s mother told
Norma, “You need to meet my Johnny when he
gets home from the service.” Norma describes
the moment she met John. “Here was this tall
drink of water in full-length Army uniform, and
I thought, ‘Well ... maybe this will work.’” Indeed
it did. John and Norma celebrated their 62nd
anniversary last August.
Irving & Alaine Naas - “I guess we always
knew we belonged together.”
Irving and Alaine Naas can’t remember not
knowing each other. In fact, they’ve known each
since they were babies. Both grew up in McVille
and went to Our Savior Church. One day they
started walking down the road together, and they
have been inseparable since. “I guess we always
knew we
belonged
together,”
says
Alaine. The
couple will
celebrate
71 years of
marriage
this month.
Jim & Joyce Holter - “Love at first sight”
In February 1953, Jim’s fraternity and Joyce’s
sorority got together to plan the Bison Brevities
Spring Show. From across the room, Jim spotted
Joyce and immediately thought, “My God, she’s
beautiful!” He walked over to her, and the rest
is history. Jim walked Joyce home later that
evening, stopping at the Hasty Tasty for a bite to
eat long the way. The Holters will celebrate their
60th anniversary in June.
