2. Since the 2008 sub-prime crisis, which led to
the USA and European economic
debacle, investors have actively looked for
alternative investments that are less risky
than the stock market. They see the
commodities market not doing so well either.

3. Commodities are raw materials that are
negotiable in the stock market.
Commodities include the energy field
(oil, coal, natural gas), metals
(gold, silver, zinc), and grains
(rice, corn, wheat). Investing in
commodities is less risky than the stock
market, however, fluctuations do occur
resulting in investor loses.

Commodities are affected by a number of
factors including agricultural drought,
political tensions, etc.

Too complex: it is hard to understand and is not as familiar

assets in one sector resulting in a greater exposure to risk.
Constant monitoring: price fluctuations occur daily, investors
must stay of top always.
