4. Cloud computing is the strategy of using a series of remote servers hosted on
the Internet to store, manage, and process data, as opposed to a local, or on-
premise server or a single personal computer’s hard disk.

5. Industry analysts say that cloud computing has evolved over some fifty years of
technological evolution. There are currently several different cloud deployment
models:
• Public cloud is where computing resources are used by different organizations
over the Internet on a pay-as-you-go model.
• Private cloud is where the cloud infrastructure is owned entirely by a single
organization, and can be located either on site or off site.
• Community cloud is where the cloud infrastructure is owned and shared by many
organizations with common concerns.
• Hybrid cloud is a combination of any of the other cloud models, and connected
by standardized or proprietary technology.
