Tobinworld operates as a school for children and adults with autism or other developmental challenges. Established in 1977, Tobinworld has grown rapidly since its inception, beginning with just 12 students and now boasting over 400 in two schools. Judith Weber, a woman disheartened by the lack of educational opportunities for her autistic son, Tobin, realized the growing demand for such services, and she decided to start Tobinworld herself. Today, Tobinworld teaches from kindergarten to 12th grade, with students ranging from ages 5 to 22. Tobinworld’s main location is integrated into the Los Angeles school system; it retains a number of special programs, and even a vocational school.
