Generic Advair Inhaler

(Seroflo Inhaler) is a
combination products containing
Fluticasone Propionate and
Salmeterol Xinafoate which is
used for the treatment of
asthma in patients aged 12
years and older. It is also used in
the treatment of Chronic
Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
(COPD).

The active pharmaceutical ingredients contained
in Generic Advair Inhaler are Fluticasone
Propionate and Salmeterol Xinafoate.
Seroflo inhalers contain Salmeterol Xinafoate 25
mcg (fixed) and the quantity of Fluticasone
Propionate is 50 mcg or 125 mcg. Seroflo inhaler
contains 120 metered doses. Seroflo multihalers
contain Salmeterol Xinafoate 50 mcg (fixed) and
the quantity of Fluticasone Propionate is 250 mcg
or 500 mcg. Seroflo multihaler contains 30
metered doses.

Asthma: Adults and Adolescents (12 years and
older):
Seroflo 50 Inhaler: Two inhalations twice daily
Asthma: Children (4 years and older)
Not recommended for children below 4 years of age.
COPD: Adults:
Seroflo 125 inhaler: Two inhalations twice daily
Recommended Dosage

Contraindications
Generic Advair Inhaler (Seroflo Inhaler) is
contraindicated in patients with the following
conditions:
➔Hypersensitivity to Fluticasone Propionate,
Salmeterol Xinafoate, or any inactive component
of this medication.
➔Contraindicated in the primary treatment of status
asthmaticus or other acute episodes of asthma
where intensive measures are required.

Side Effects of Generic Advair Inhaler
Ear, Nose, & Throat: Upper respiratory tract
infection, Throat irritation, Upper respiratory
inflammation, Hoarseness/dysphonia
Lower Respiratory: Viral respiratory infections
Neurology: Headaches Dizziness
Gastrointestinal: Nausea & vomiting, Viral
gastrointestinal infections, Gastrointestinal signs
and symptoms
Non-Site Specific: Pain

Side Effects of Generic Advair Inhaler
Musculoskeletal: Musculoskeletal pain Muscle pain
Drug interaction, Overdose, and Trauma: Muscle
injuries
Reproduction: Menstruation symptoms
Psychiatry: Intoxication and hangover

Warnings And Precautions
➔Long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonists, such as
salmeterol, one of the active ingredients in Generic Advair
inhaler (Seroflo inhaler), may increase the risk of asthma-
related death. Therefore, when treating patients with
asthma, physicians should only prescribe Seroflo inhaler
for patients not adequately controlled on other asthma-
controller medications.
➔Treatment with Generic Advair inhaler should not be
initiated in patients during rapidly deteriorating or
potentially life-threatening episodes of asthma
➔Generic Advair inhaler should not be used to treat acute
symptoms.
➔Increasing use of inhaled, short-acting beta2-agonists is
a marker of deteriorating asthma.

➔Generic Advair inhaler should not be used for transferring
patients from systemic corticosteroid therapy
➔Generic Advair inhaler should not be used in conjunction
with an inhaled, long-acting beta2-agonist.
➔The recommended dosage should not be exceeded.
➔As with other inhaled asthma medications, Generic
Advair Inhaler can produce paradoxical bronchospasm,
which may be life threatening
➔Immediate hypersensitivity reactions may occur after
administration of Generic Advair inhaler, as demonstrated
by cases of urticaria, angioedema, rash, and
bronchospasm.

➔Symptoms of laryngeal spasm, irritation, or swelling, such
as stridor and choking, have been reported in patients
receiving fluticasone propionate and salmeterol,
components of Generic Advair inhaler.
➔Generic Advair inhaler, like all products containing
sympathomimetic amines, should be used with caution in
patients with cardiovascular disorders
➔Transfer of patients from systemic corticosteroid therapy
to Generic Advair inhaler may unmask conditions
previously suppressed by the systemic corticosteroid
therapy, e.g., rhinitis, conjunctivitis, eczema, arthritis, and
eosinophilic conditions

➔Persons who are using drugs that suppress the immune
system are more susceptible to infections than healthy
individuals.
➔Lower respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia,
have been reported in patients with COPD following the
inhaled administration of corticosteroids, including 698
fluticasone propionate and Generic Advair Inhaler.
➔Because of the potential for drug interactions and the
potential for increased risk of cardiovascular adverse
events, the concomitant use of Generic Advair Inhaler with
strong CYP 3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir,
atazanavir, clarithromycin, indinavir, itraconazole,
nefazodone, nelfinavir, saquinavir, telithromycin) is not
recommended

Overdose Symptoms
Generic Advair Inhaler (Seroflo inhaler) overdose
symptoms may include:
Chest pain (angina), High blood pressure (hypertension)
or low blood pressure (hypotension), Nervousness,
Headaches, Shakiness (tremors), Dry mouth, Feelings
of a rapidly or forcefully beating heart (heart
palpitations), Nausea, Dizziness, Insomnia or fatigue,
Seizures, An irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia) or a fast
heart rate (tachycardia), Low potassium in the blood
(hypokalemia), High blood sugar (hyperglycemia),
Cardiac arrest .

Overdose Treatment
Treatment for Generic Advair Inhaler (Seroflo
inhaler) overdose involves supportive care.
Supportive care consists of treating the
symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose.
Supportive treatment options may include:
Fluids through an intravenous line (IV),
medications (such as beta blockers) to reverse
the effects of Generic Advair.
