CIVIL ENGINEERING REVIEW CENTERS
A good review center program should be viewed by the students
as a wise investment in passing the Civil Engineering Board
Examinations. CE students/graduates must pay for the skills and
knowledge of licensed civil engineer lecturers who have a special
study of the CE licensure examination types and contents as
prescribed by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).
By means of lectures, techniques and demos, lecturers/reviewers
pass their wisdom along to reviewees. The ability of a review
center to increase the reviewees’ chances of success depends on
the review center’s program. Review centers aid and assist
students for better chances of passing the licensure exams.
Usually, this kind of review method will only be effective if the
student/reviewee will do his/her part.

1. BESAVILLA REVIEW CENTER
Commonly Called: Besa
Besavilla Review Center, formerly called Besavilla Engineering
Review Center was the oldest review center (32 years) for civil
engineering up to now. It was founded by Engr. Venancio I.
Besavilla, Jr. at Cebu City on 1980 and expanded its operations
in Manila and other key cities in the country (Baguio, Cagayan
de Oro, General Santos City and Davao)

Features/Services:
Review Program: 270 + hours of intensive lectures where basic
engineering principles and theories are discussed, along with samples to
recent board problems, simplified so that reviewees are able to cope
with present type of licensure problems.
Refresher Program: 144 + hours of problem solving to familiarize
reviewees in different approaches to solve problems based on recent
board exams and problems involving the latest topics introduced by the
PRC.
There is a pre-board examination wherein reviewees are required to
take, patterned after the actual licensure examination, to better prepare
students in taking the actual licensure exams.

AND TUTORIAL CENTER
Commonly Called: Success/Padi
In 1997, Engr. Perfecto B. Padilla, Jr. saw the need for a center that
will provide CE graduates an honest to goodness review. He saw the
need of the Academe and the Industry for one that will unleash the
hidden abilities of graduates and hone them to perfection. That gave
birth to Padilla Review Center (now Success Review).
It has branches in Manila, Cebu, Baguio and Davao. Engr. Padilla
himself is teaching most of the subjects. Understanding of subject
matter was made simplest by Engr. Padilla’s unconventional and non-
bookish approaches and strategies. They advocate honest review,
which in line with their noble objective of producing engineers of
character and dignity.

3. GILLESANIA ENGINEERING REVIEW &
TRAINING CENTER
Commonly called: Gillesania/GERTC
Engr. Diego Inocencio T. Gillesania, was the author of various
engineering books, a 3rd placer in the CE Board Exams last November
1989 and the Review Director and reviewer in all subjects at GERTC.
Engr. Gillesania was a former review lecturer of Besavilla Engineering
Reeview Center in Cebu on 1991 and on 1996 he separated from
Besavilla and founded his own review center on 1997.
Gillesania Engineering Review and Training Center was the only on-
line review school in the Philippines offering reviews and freshener
classes for the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination given by the
Professional Regulations Commission.

4. POLARIS REVIEW CENTER
Commonly called: Polaris
POLARIS REVIEW CENTER, the biggest review center in the island province of
Palawan offers review classes in Civil Engineering. It was founded on March 22,
2002 by Engr. Cesar C. Javarez, founder and director of Polaris Review Center of
having the vision of creating a center of excellence in developing the educational
potentials of graduate students in their pursuit for professional advancement
and self-fulfillment in their chosen careers.
His decision in 2002 to establish a review center in Palawan was driven by a
passion to address reviewees’ problem – “cost of taking a review class”
particularly, the “cost of stay in Manila while taking the review course”.
By establishing the Polaris Review Center in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, it has
given an opportunity and advantage for those graduates who have no time to go
to Manila and find it too costly to take the regular review course. It also enabled
the graduates to be well equipped with the trends of the current questions in all
subject areas.

5. EXPERTZ CENTER FOR CAREER DEV’T., INC.
Commonly Called: Experts, Semana
Experts CE Review Center was renamed Semana CE Review Center on
October 2013 and founded by former Experts CE Review Center founders
Engr. Roma Semana and Engr. Garry Alviento.
History:
Experts stand for Excellence in Professional Engineering Review and Training
Solutions. It was founded on 2005 (incorporated) by Engr. Mervin Cereno
and Engr. Garry Alviento (former review lecturers of Padilla Review Center)
together with other Mapua instructors. They have produced 25 out of 32
reviewees on their first batch last November 2004 CE board exams.

6. REVIEW INNOVATIONS, INC.
Commonly Called: R.I.
In September 2005, after handling review classes at Besavilla Engineering
Review Center – Manila for two decades, Engineers Wilfredo Y. Andales,
Jose Alfredo Escoto, Jr., Ananias C. Gloria, Jr., Ramon Guevara and Ariel P.
Santos decided to form a review center that will be more responsive to the
students’ needs. Armed with a full grasp of the intricacies of the trade, they
envisioned a center that will truly address the students’ problems and
inadequacies.
Thus, Review Innovations was born. Pooling their resources and banking on
their experience, these 5 review instructors went full throttle to establish a
review center that will provide the students the best preparation for the
licensure examinations. Their vast experience was invaluable; their desire to
serve the students’ better made them indefatigable to them, the students’

Commonly Called: Esplana
Esplana Engineering Review Center was founded on November
2011 by Engr. Dindo F. Esplana, May 2001 CE Board First Placer
of Mapua Institute of Technology, a former lecturer of Experts
Review Center, and reviewed at Besavilla and Padilla. Majority
of the CE subjects are conducted by himself.

Mission
To help aspiring civil engineers achieve high pass marks in the licensure

Commonly Called: Review Studio/CRS
On the early part of the first quarter of 2013, Engr. Ray D.
Ramilo founded CRS (CE Review Studio). Engr. Ramilo is a
Registered Civil and Geodetic Engineer in the Philippines, with
14 years of Academic Experience and presently the Chartered
Prsident of Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Singapore
Chapter (Life Member). Presently, CRS is the youngest review
center for CE as of today.

10. TATUALLA REVIEW GROUP - CE
Commonly Called: Tatualla/TRG
The Tatualla Review Group (TRG) is established and managed by the
Tatualla Family. They started in reviewing and inspiring Nursing
graduates for the licensure exams. Proven to be successful in
achieving their goals for several years, they are in the stage of
expanding TRG services by adding a branch for Civil Engineering
review courses. Being one of the most credible Civil Engineers in the
family, Engr. Sarah Marie Tatualla Dichoso (oftentimes called as Engr.

•The History of CAL TECH
It was year 2009, I was still jobless, with no job prospect and
very little money left. I resigned from a teaching job in Saudi
Aramco, Saudi Arabia. I was still then recovering from a bout of
depression caused by what happened from my best friends from
UE as well as my bad experience from my job out there in Saudi
Arabia. During this time, I am very grateful to Dr. Amelia
Marquez (President of Megareview) who helped me recover. In
this period, I shifted my energy to conceptualizing the idea of
Calculator Techniques; I integrated my work in my review classes
and did extensive research on how the Calculator can be utilized
in its optimum use.

•The History of CAL TECH
A lot of ideas I wrote from my books were taken from my special
classes MATH ENHANCEMENT being offered by my previous employer.
Two of my students, Eric and Edison volunteered to design the
CALCULATOR Keys. I extended Calculator Techniques to Math,
Mechanics, Engineering Economy, Design and Construction, Fluid
Mechanics, Hydraulics and Numerical Methods. They got excellent
feedbacks, from teachers, students and my colleagues. My first book
Calculator Techniques sold already more than five thousand copies
from its 1st printing in year 2011. During my critical times, My best
friend and my adopted son by principle Mico Algaba had stayed with
me with the selling, promotion and distribution of the books. A lot of
people had laugh at my work then, but now they are already imitating
my work in their lectures, reading materials and even in their
promotion. Today Calculator Techniques will be one of the major
selling point of the Newly Established Civil Engineering Review School,
Tolentino and Associates Review School.

•Why INHINYERO REVIEW CENTER?
•1. MORE than just a review- We want to approach it a methodical way. We can all agree that
the brain is a muscle. We can go to the gym to train our muscles so that they may grow and
be stronger. Then why can’t we do this to our brain? Remember when we were kids, 1 + 1 can
be answered by counting off, but now we can give the answer without even exerting much
effort. Then why can’t we do this even for a single month, that we are able to effortlessly
recall multiple formulas on top of our heads in a jiffy. How? We may be able to help you with
that. From food, to time, to audio and visual techniques.
•2. REVIEW is only for what we know- To review means that we need to recall things that
have already been taught to us. But how can we review topics that we do not know? We all
came from different schools, which has different professors and different topics that they
were able to teach. Few only can cover a book from cover to cover. That’s why we also
included short discussions in our review methods before jumping into a problem already. This
will also help those of you who have been working for a long time after graduation and fear
that they already forgot what they knew in college.

•3. No Shortcut to SUCCESS- Of course, we will give you tips on using your calculators for faster
problem solving. But we will not teach you to rely on that only. Too much reliance on technology
might make your brain lazy. Let us make your brain active with exercises that will help your brain
be alert. We will, on some topics, teach you not only the formula, but the concept behind it, so that
you can understand it deeper and be able to derive it. Therefore no matter how they juggle the
problem, you would never get lost in it.
•4. Review is not just in the classroom- Our approach will go way beyond the classroom. From daily
exercises, mentally and physically. Up to food, for example eating chocolates.
•When you eat chocolate, your brain produces dopamine. And dopamine helps you learn faster and
remember better. Not to mention, chocolate contains flavonols, antioxidants, which also improve
your brain functions.
•5. More than just the license- We will insert stuff to help you not only with getting your license, but
also what to do after getting it. How to improve your career after getting your license. Since it
doesn’t end in passing the board exam, it just gets better after that.
