In 2002 I met a woman who is a citizen of Mexico, and here illegally. A year later we were married and ever since we have been trying to find a way to get her citizenship in the U.S. without breaking up our family. It has been a long, and difficult process, and it's not even close to being over. She has three kids, two of whom were born here and are so-called "anchor-babies." One is not. We have consulted many attorneys and have spent lots of time and money trying to keep my family together in what really should be a simple and straight-forward procedure, after all, I am an American Citizen; I should be able to have the family of my own choosing, in my own country. This is the United States
