A fuel cell vehicle is
powered by
electricity generated
by hydrogen and
oxygen. Unlike
gasoline, hydrogen is
an environmentally
friendly substance. It
can also be easily
produced from a
variety of sources.

In 2002, Toyota introduced a
limited-edition fuel cell vehicle,
the Toyota FCHV, in Japan and
America.
In 2008, the Toyota FCHV-adv
further refined the idea. This
was another limited run,
available only to select buyers.
In 2013, the Toyota FCV Concept
debuted at the Tokyo Motor
Show. This car featured an
enhancement of the hydrogen
tank design.

environmentally friendly
features. For one thing, it
doesn't emit CO2—at all.
As previously noted, its
hydrogen supply can be
derived from a large
number of sources.
There’s no danger of a
hydrogen shortage!

Toyota’s new fuel cell
vehicle has a travel range of
around 700km.
The vehicle boasts excellent
acceleration.
It drives smoothly and
silently—much more so
than a traditional gasoline-based
automobile.
The engine can be started
up in temperatures as low
as -30 °C.

Because it runs on hydrogen,
the fuel cell vehicle is far
superior to standard electric
vehicles.
The car can cover long
distances at less expense.
The hydrogen tanks can be
refilled with minimal hassle—it
takes only about three
minutes. Substantially more
time is needed to recharge an
electric vehicle.

This fuel cell sedan can
generate enough
energy to power a
typical home for a full
week.
It has an output power
density of 3kW/L.
The tank storage

vehicle has been
increased by 20% over
the Toyota FCH-adv.
