How Does Elance Escrow work:-
Elance Escrow is a third party system who works for both client as well
as service provider. The role of escrow is to carry out the instructions
agreed upon by both parties to ensure that no one is cheated. Once a
job is awarded, the client and contractor define and agree upon
milestones, and funds are then placed into Escrow and released only
after the work is delivered and accepted by the client.

Elance Dispute Resolution Process:-
Either party can file a Dispute within this timeframe. Elance Dispute Assistance
is a three step process:-
• Member Resolution - both parties attempt to find a resolution independently
by documenting the disagreement and the expected outcome in the Dispute
Notice form
• Dispute Call – if a mutual agreement is not reached during the Member
Resolution stage, Elance will attempt to schedule a dispute call with an Elance
facilitator and both parties to discuss a mutual resolution
• Arbitration – If a mutual agreement is not reached on the call, one or both
parties do not attend a scheduled call, or a call cannot be scheduled based off
of availability from both parties, either party has the right to move to the final
step of the process, which is Arbitration.
