6. • Sheol - a Hebrew term simply describing “the
grave” or “death”
• Hades - A Greek term that usually refers to hell – a
place of torment (Luke 10:15; 16:23, etc.)
About over 150 verses that reveal some
aspect of hell with different names

7. Hell was designed originally for Satan and his demons/angels and then the
sinners
Revelation 20:10-15; And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning
sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and
night for ever and ever.....book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according
to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and
Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's
name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually
immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the
fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.
Matthew 13:41-42 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his
kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil....and throw them into the fiery furnace,
where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25:41 Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into
the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

14. God CAN:
Matthew 10:28 “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot fill the soul. Rather, be
afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Luke 12:5 “But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the
killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.”
2 Peter 2:4 “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent
them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for
judgement.......”

15. It’s About Choices.
• (1) Everyone will exist eternally either in heaven or hell (Daniel 12:2,3-.... others to
shame and everlasting contempt.; Matthew 25:46-Then they will go away to eternal punishment....; John 5:28-"Do not
be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29....those who have done
evil will rise to be condemned. Revelation 20:14,15-Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of
fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
• (2) Everyone has only one life in which to determine their destiny (Hebrews 9:27-
Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,).
• (3) Heaven or hell is determined by whether a person believes (puts their

Matthew 23:25-27
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the
outside of the cup and dish, but inside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full
of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and
dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Woe to you, teachers of the law and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful
on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything
