•Pinterest was founded in 2009
•Pinterest was founded by Ben Silbermann, Evan Sharp, and Paul Sciarra who make up a small team
found in Palo Alto, California
•All three had been college friends studying architecture , and they began working on a site in which
people could show collections of things they were interested in, on an interactive pin-board format
•Pinterest today has approximately 40 employees, nearly 20 million visitors a month, and $138
million in funding
