• The city of Nis is one of the oldest town in
Balkan and one of the biggest town in Serbia.
• The river Nišava flows through the city of Nis.
• It is a city of more than 250 000 people and a
university center with 13 faculties.
• “Constantine the Great” is an international
airport in Nis.
• All around the city are magnificent
mountains: Mt. Suva Planina, Svrljiške Planine
and Mt. Seličevica.

• The city of Nis is the birthplace of the famous
Roman emperor Constantine the Great.
• The city of Nis is a cultural and historical center.
There are a lot of monuments: Mediana, The
Fortress, Cele Kula, Cegar.
• The City is famous for the National Theatre and
The Puppet Theatre, National and University
Library.

•There are also many festivals: Nisville- Jazz
festival, the Film Festival, the Music Festival
Nisomnia, the Burek Days.
•It is a town of many sports: cycling, tennis, football,
handball, canoe and kayak.
