The target audience for my film is for

- People who are interested in the genre of Action, Thriller and Crime
- People who like to be on the edge
- Deep thinkers
- Thrill seekers
- People who like adrenaline rush and like exciting/scary scenes
3. What uses/gratifications are offered by the texts
your target audience enjoy?
The texts my target audience which my audience would enjoy are:
Leverage - A crew of high-tech crooks attempt to steal from wealthy criminals
and corrupt businessmen.
Tower Heist - When a group of hard working guys find out they've fallen victim
to a wealthy business man's Ponzi scheme, they conspire to rob his high-rise
residence.
Taken - A retired CIA agent travels across Europe and relies on his old skills to
save his estranged daughter, who has been kidnapped while on a trip to Paris.

your target audience enjoy?
Pure Entertainment
escaping, or being diverted, from real world problems
adrenaline rush – exciting/scary scenes
relaxing (not challenging, stressful – easy ‘background’ viewing)
spectacle (seeing something you would never see in real life)
Personal Identity
finding reinforcement for personal values finding models of behaviour (to either embrace or
reject)
identifying with a valued other (or ‘opinion leader’, someone similar to them who they
respect)
aspiring to be like a valued other

Integration and Social Interaction
gaining insight into circumstances of others; social empathy (i.e. why would your audience
want this insight?)
identifying with others (of same background) and gaining a sense of belonging (i.e. how are
they similar to characters?)
finding a basis for conversation and social interaction (‘water-cooler discussions’)
helping to carry out social roles and fulfil expectations (i.e. what social roles are they expected
to fulfil – what help from media?)
