The cards of separation in Tarot: part one.
Emotional separation is an important experience in life. It shows us the nadir of our existence. A phase where we feel as
though we are stuck-up in sinking sand and there is no way out for survival. It also makes us appreciate and respect any
good experience that we come across post that phase. The suite of Swords: in the pack of Tarot cards. Is one elemental
suite; wherein most of the cards denote or imply emotional and human suffering.
The three of Swords is a card ruled by the planet Saturn. Saturn as a planet is a karmic planet. One which is: very
stubborn, rigid, straight forward and a no-nonsense kind. Usually, placement of a strong Saturn in the horoscope chart of
a native. Creates obstacles in love life and makes one go through a life where every experience is in extreme; whether
good or bad. It gives you desires but the means to achieve those desires will not exist. This planet makes you respect and
appreciate life; through the suffering that it makes you go through. The planet is not at fault. It is our own past karma that
we carry forth in this birth. Let me get back to the three of sword’s card. This card implies a situation where we find
someone; who is everything that we have desired for in this life of ours. Love takes its own course over a period of time.
You end up giving more to this relationship than what it deserves. You do not have any social backing or any support
system; within your so called family or blood relatives. You end up assuming that this person will take care of
everything. He or she will save you when you need someone; to help you get back on track. However, you end up
forgetting that your vulnerability is known to this soul and this soul is a true hypocrite.
Who has taken advantage of the situation and used you well enough to suit his or her needs. Suddenly, this relationship
reaches a phase; where you realize that this person is not what you expected him or her to be. You are stabbed so badly
and in such a disgusting manner. The only feeling that stays or lingers in your heart is: bitterness, humiliation and a
desire to curse this soul from the core of your heart. What this card also implies is the manner in which you will handle
or manage this phase. You will not share your pain with anyone else. I am not saying that your suffering will remain a
closed secret. Even if it is known to the entire world around you; you are going to keep quiet about it and suffer in
silence.
The ten of swords is another chronic and strong card. It denotes an excessive amount of suffering and a phase where the
situation is beyond your reach or control. This card portrays complete and final ruin; where your own blood relatives
have stabbed you very badly. It could also imply people whom you have trusted unconditionally. They have been very
shrewd and have ensured that there is no way out left for you so as to escape. With this card your suffering will not be
2. hidden either. It will be known to each and everyone around you. However what needs to be noted is that this card
implies the last phase of suffering or that particular event; which has been very close to your heart. This card also implies
that post this phase; you will be more fearless and audacious. Suffering will not be new to you and something that you
can live with. It is an important experience for any human soul because once you go through such a phase. You live
through the dark side of life. To survive through such an event will only make you a survivor. Personally, I have
immense respect for people who survive through such events. People who suffer endlessly but never speak or brag about
their sufferings. If I have to name a few people who have been true blue survivors in life; then the list would include
names like: author and poetess Amrita Pritam, Dr. John Forbes Nash, Actress Jennifer Connelly, singers like Asha
Bhonsale, Jagjit Singh and many more.
I am sure suffering is not new to anyone. However, to go through a traumatic life, to survive through that mess and rise
from your own ashes; is nothing less than a miracle. In this article/blog I have covered two cards which imply excessive
suffering on the emotional level as well as day to day life. At times, your circumstances take you away from mainstream
life. A life, which you end up living on the edge: an existence which makes you a social stigma; for no fault of your own.
If this article or blog is of any use to the reader; then that would make me very happy. However, if anyone thinks this
article was not worth reading; even then your feedback is most welcome. I hope to learn from my own mistakes and as a
reader you can help me identify those mistakes. May god bless you and do take care of yourself.
