Previously she was the Director of Legislative and Political Mobilization for the Texas American Federation of Teachers. She also worked as a political analyst for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, as data manager for Working America, and at the Democratic National Committee. She is a veteran of local, state and federal electoral campaigns.
Tanya is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the Heinz Graduate School of Public Policy and Management. Tanya was a Rising Star award winner (2009) by Campaigns and Elections' Politics.
