2. CHARACTERISTICS
• Construct three outline maps of Amazonia
to show the Characteristics of the
environment.
• This means you need to draw a map to show the
differences (spatial variations) in
Soils, vegetation, Landforms or climate
• Explain the Variations in the characteristics
• Why are they like this – explain each zone and
why it is like this.

3. EVOLUTION AND CHANGE
• Make a 4 box diagram to show 4 stages in
the development of the landscape
• From gondwana to today
• What is happening at each stage, what
processes are involved ? How can you get
specific dates, names in each stage ?
• Write one paragraph per stage to say what
is happening (process based)

4. PEOPLE AND THE ENVIRONMENT
• Choose three groups of people
(indigenous, loggers, miners, developers) –
map their location and name their
perspective
• How have people interacted with the
environment ?
• How have people used the environment
and how has the environment affected
them.
