This picture was chosen and it is significant in history because it shows how relationships between communism and capitalism was negative. 65 countries did not participate or boycotted the Moscow Olympics because they were under communist rule. The idea of the image for saying that dreams were stolen is because the athletes who were in the Olympics could not participate or were not allowed too just because of the country was communist. These two ideologies caused boycotting and scapegoating against one another.
- 3. -represents USSR -represents France -represents Britain -represents USA This image was chosen because it shows the best division of Germany after WWII. This division was to make sure Germany could never again cause another world war. The ideologies depicted in this picture were mostly between the USA and USSR. In other words it was a land-grab between capitalism and communism.
- 4. This image was chosen because it perfectly depicts how Cuba and the USA were ready to fight and cause nuclear warfare. The ideology continues to be between communism and capitalism because as the USSR gave Cuba the ability of nuclear weapons, it further threatened the security of the USA thus continuing to reflect the struggle between the two ideologies.

This image was chosen because it shows how the Berlin wall started to officially separate the two struggling ideologies. The USSR believed that this separation would protect them from capitalism.

This is very significant because at these times USA and USSR had competing ideologies. The fact that the USSR was able to launch the first shuttle into space before the USA was forceful enough to further cause struggles between the two ideologies.
- 7. This image was significant and chosen because it symbolizes how the soldiers and the Koreans were a divided nation all because of their ideologies. This war was the cause of the two struggling ideologies. Furthermore the north was controlled by the Soviets and their goal was to control the south also. This image is the result of the Soviets invading the south so the UN entered to assist South Korea (capitalists). Once again the two competing ideologies communism vs. capitalism came into play.
- 8. This picture was chosen because the people stand atop Stalin’s statue and this symbolized how the people were tired of a communist rule which led to the uprising. This uprising however(the idea of getting rid of communism) caused communist armed forces to counter attack. The tanks entered Budapest to protect the parliament and the chance of freedom was lost. This uprising is significant because the thought of having freedom from Soviet rule tells us that this ideology caused negative effects as a nation. These two ideologies as we see in history is that communism vs. right wing ideologies never meet on the same terms which usually means war.
- 9. This image is significant and was chosen because it shows the Vietnam children suffer while the USA soldiers take photos and think nothing or do not help the children. This shows how the two ideologies compete because if the children were raised under capitalist rule the soldiers would be taking them to safety rather then not caring. These communism and capitalism disagreements have caused war between the two nations.
- 10. This image was chosen because it was highly significant to the Cold War. This image shows how the Americans used a form of propaganda by giving food and supplies and even candy to the Germans. In this way they were trying to spread the idea that capitalism was convincingly better then communism. Yet again the two ideologies struggle against one another during the Cold War.

With freedom written on the side and it finally coming true Germany was then finally together as a nation and the Cold War had officially ended. The two competing ideologies struggles ended and the Berlin Wall disintegrated.

But it was liked because it symbolizes how there was many lives lost and it caused a devastating and significant time in history.
