Pro and Cons of Forgiveness
We can gain some benefits from forgiveness. One of the benefits of forgiveness is that it is good
for our heart. This is because when we try to forgive other people, we can train our heart to be
more patience when we are dealing in some issues in our daily life. Besides that, forgiveness also
can always train us to be more forgiven people rather than someone who hold revenge towards
others, which is not good for our heart. It can cause the hatred within our heart. According to Siromi
(2012), forgiveness reflects our heart attitude towards God and the person who sinned.
In this context, we can forgive, because there are two components to forgiveness which is
attitudinal and transactional. Before we approach the person who sinned against us, we must
approach God and battle to have a forgiving and merciful heart. To forgive someone, we really
need to be sincere so that there would not be revenge that particular individual. We have to make
sure that our heart is ready to forgive that person and we really mean it. Thus, we will be very
easy and the peaceful finally be with us. Our heart will be in peace because there is no more

Since the 1999 report by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), To Err is Human, there have been many
new efforts and initiatives to reduce the incidence of medical errors. While some people argued the
report exaggerated the magnitude of the problem, others were concerned about the annual number of
preventable medical errors.1 Medical errors include, but not limited to medication errors, hospital
acquired infections, surgical mistakes, and communication failure.2 As a student pharmacist, I am
interested in medication errors and initiatives for their prevention. In response to the IOM's report,
the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) agency enhanced its error reduction strategies by
implementing a new division dedicated to medication errors.3

happened to find an article from April 2015 that talked about To Err is Human. This article
discussed several topics but one that stood out was that a few analysis claim that To Err is

Williams was able to put these ailments to the side and carry a career as an accomplished author,
poet, and playwright ("Biography" 1–2). In Tennessee's novella The Glass Menagerie, a story of a
family's struggles taking place in St Louis, Missouri, 1937, much of the story's plot and characters
have a strikingly similar reality to that of Tennessee and his own personal life. In particular, one of
the main characters and the story's narrator Tom Wingfield shows a life with close correlation to that
of Tennessee's. It can be concluded that Tennessee Williamsuses his art and talent for writing as an

the process of art by the tension Tom's mother creates, the love for reading and writing, and the

wasn't fully God, and others stating He wasn't fully man. For example, Apollinaris (ca. 300–315)

possessed by logos. Arius (ca. 250) felt that since God was immutable, there could be no way that
the substance of God could be communicated or shared with another being; therefore, Christ was a
created being and was not pre–existent. These ideas were dangerous in either overemphasizing or

would have been insufficient or null. If He were a man with logos instead of a soul, as

Throughout the course of humanity's history many questions have risen that have posed a problem
to us as a species. Questions such as the following: What is the proper relationship between
individuals and society? What is beauty, and why is it important? Is there purpose in human
existence?, and many others have caused enough trouble in humanity's short existence on the earth
to cause a near identity crisis. However, all of these questions fall under the shadow of the main
question that has been asked since the creation of Adam– "What exactly is the real relationship and
purpose of humanity towards the divine?"
During the time of philosophers, such as Aristotle and Plato, "What exactly is the real relationship
and purpose of humanity towards the divine?" was the question spreading among the philosophers.
When questioned what God is, Aristotle stated in writing, "God is a supreme and eternal living
being, so that to God belong life and continuous and eternal duration. For that is what God is." If
we choose to believe Aristotle's logic then we are left without a reason as to why humanity exists
and are left to make assumptions about our existence for the divine power. If God is eternal and
has all power then that would mean that our existence is meaningless unless we had a specific

Forgiveness is a concept that most people do not understand, and I must admit I was one of those
people before I took the class. My experience with this concept was mainly through church sermons
where the pastor explained God forgave us of our sins to restore a relationship with us. Therefore,
my definition was clouded by these sermons and I would have said forgiveness was saying you are
sorry no matter who was at fault, showing remorse for your actions, changing your actions, and

such as high blood pressure and heart trouble are intensified by the lack of our not letting go of
past hurts. Mentally we spend time thinking about a past transgression more than we spend time
thinking about happy events in our lives. I think it is like ivy growing in your mind, you first
think the ivy is pretty but then it starts to grow and eventually covers the wall of your mind and
chokes out all other flowering vegetation, leaving you with only the transgression and no beautiful

present a problem in any setting, not just hospitals. Errors are also costly in terms of opportunity
costs. Dollars spent on having to repeat diagnostic tests or counteract adverse drug events are

costs and copayments are inflated by services that would not have been necessary had proper care
been provided. It is impossible for the nation to achieve the greatest value possible from the
billions of dollars spent on medical care if the care contains errors. But not all the costs can be

As a pilot I get sick of hearing the term "human error" whenever an accident investigation releases
their report. Almost every possible scenario can get traced back to human error in one way or
another: pilot failed to initiate proper emergency procedures, pilot failed to stop when he should

The aircraft originated from Miami Florida and was just 33 miles northeast of its destination when it
crashed into mountainous terrain killing all but 4 passengers. The accident investigation determined
that there was no indication of any aircraft systems malfunction, no indication of any unusual
meteorological event, no indication of any external hostile force acting on the aircraft, and no
indication of any out–of–service condition of any applicable ground based navigational aids
(Ladkin). So what was the cause of this accident? Apparently, when the pilot intended to proceed
direct to the navaid "ROZO" he entered an "R" into the flight management system (FMS) which
defaulted to a navaid over 100 miles away called "ROMEO." The autopilot automatically started
steering toward "ROMEO" while the pilot continued his descent for what he thought was the final
approach. Unfortunately for everyone onboard, mountains existed in the direction of "ROMEO"
and 160 people died (Anderson). Had the pilot not made the error of entering an "R" instead of
"ROZO" this accident would have been prevented....what a difference 3 letters can make.
While others are quick to look at this accident and yell "pilot error," I wonder why they aren't
yelling "autopilot error" or "FMS error." I couldn't even begin to tell you what an FMS looks like,
much less how to use one, but I can tell you that upon closer examination of this accident we may
want to re–think what we choose to
