 Voice Code System
LEVEL 0 – Silent – absolutely NO voices
LEVEL 1 –Whisper – working with a partner
LEVEL 2 – InsideVoices – working in a small group
LEVEL 3 – PresentationVoices – Class Discussion
 TRACK any person talking to show the person he or she has your
undivided attention.
 Attend and arrive on time to MBA and all classes each day school is in
session.
 Be Respectful to ALL adults and your fellow Executives.
 Introduce yourself to guests in the building and offer a guiding hand.
 Do not use hurtful or foul language.
 Adhere to CommonVoice Codes in class, hallway, cafeteria and assembly
programs.
 Always maintain proper MBA dress code.
 Keep your hands to yourself.
 Follow proper hallway and assembly procedures.
 Keep cell phones and electronic devices turned off and out of sight
during school hours.
 Follow all Expectations at any school-sponsored activity.
Executive will EARN MBAbucks for exhibiting positive behavior
Weight of MBABucks:
One MBAbuck = Persevering through a challenge
Two MBAbucks =Teamwork
Three MBAbucks = Going above and beyond assignment parameters
Four MBAbucks = Assessments – 85% Proficient
Quarterly INCENTIVE for MBAbucks:
1. Concessions
2. Free BUSINESS Dress Down Day upon authorization from
Administration
3. Merit Dances monthly or at the end of each Quarter
4. FieldTrips
5. Out to lunch with teacher or administrator
Executives will EARN DEMERITS for
exhibiting negative behaviors.
1- Demerit
3 Immediate Demerits
Automatic 2 – 3 Day Suspensi0n
 Talking without permission(calling out, asking students questions w/o permission)
 Out of seat without permission
 Off task during instruction(Not on correct pages, not recording notes etc., not
participating during group work, Refusal to work, sleeping in class, head on desk)
 Littering
 Eating or drinking outside cafeteria
 Chewing gum
 1st Violation of cell phone policy or electronic device (1 demerit if phone or
electronic device is visible but not on or operating) – move to 3 immediate demerit
if the device is on upon 1st violation
 Providing any cell phone or electronic device to another Executive
 Tardy to class – 1st tardy to teacher class in the week
 Not prepared for class with materials (not having sharpened pencils or lead, pen,
paper, notebook, folder, textbook, rules, etc.)
 Disregarding common voice codes
 Playful joking without profanity and harsh words
 Executives being in a restricted area of the classroom without permission
 Executives touching restricted items without permission
 Destruction of school property
 Profanity
 Cheating
 Uniform violation – Executives’ uniforms will be thoroughly inspected every morning to give an opportunity to
correct any violation before classes begin. When there is any uniform violation during any class, Executives will
receive an immediate 3 demerits and a Demerit Referral Form.
 Disruptive behavior (screaming, horseplay, beating on walls, running, randomly knocking on teachers’ doors, public
displays of affection, throwing, singing, humming, dancing, outbursts, taping, or beating on the desk, etc.)
 Disrespect to adults (Responding negatively: I don’t care, so, shrugging shoulders, rolling eyes, not responding when
asked a question, etc.)
 PDA (public display of affection within 1000 feet of school during, before or after school) (hugging, holding hands,
kissing)
 Tardy to class – 2nd tardy to the same period in the same week
 Skipping class or other required meetings during school day
 Leaving campus without proper procedure
 Threatening language or gestures (middle finger, balling and pounding fists, jumping at teacher) (cause
for immediate suspension)
 Offensive teasing/checking(using profanity and harsh words)
 Obscene gestures (cause for immediate suspension)
 Cyber bullying/Bullying (cause for immediate suspension or expulsion)
 PhysicalViolence (cause for immediate suspension or expulsion)
 Possession of a weapon on school property (cause for immediate suspension or expulsion)
 Stealing of any kind, e.g. school, teacher and student supplies, school property, money and electronics (cause for
immediate suspension or expulsion)
 Executives being in any restricted area in the school or outside the school without permission.
 2nd Violation of cell phone or electronic device (whether phone or electronic device is on or off.) Phone or
electronic device will be confiscated from Executive for 4 weeks, and phone will be turned in to administration. (This
is the consequence for this particular offense.)
Four Step Consequence Ladder
 Step 1 = First set of 3 Demerits within a single class =
Silent Lunch Detention + Reflection Letter + Parent Contact
 Step 2 = Second set of 3 Demerits within a single class = Silent Lunch
Detention and Afterschool Detention + Reflection Letter + Parent
Contact
 Step 3 =Third set of 3 Demerits within a single class = 1 Day In Class
Suspension (ICS) + Silent Lunch Detention + Service vest + Action Plan +
In –Person Parent Conference with 3 days of offense
 Step 4 = Fourth set of 3 Demerits within a single class = 1 Day Out of
School Suspension + NewAction Plan + Make up Work + In –Person
ParentConference with 3 days of offense + Completed Action Plan and
Assignments in order to return
CONSEQUENCE FOR INFRACTION FOR CELL PHONE & ELECTRONIC DEVICES
 The 1st time a cell phone or electronic device is visible without being
on within any single class, the Executive will receive one Demerit.
OR
The 1st time a cell phone or electronic device is visible and it is
on will result in a 3 immediate demerit, DemeritViolation, and confiscation of the
cell for four weeks from the date of the violation.
 The 2nd time a cell phone or electronic device is visible whether on or off will
result in a 3 immediate demerit, DemeritViolation, and confiscation of the cell for
four weeks from the date of the violation.The device must be turned in to
Administration.The consequence ladder will not be utilized unless the Executive
is insubordinate when the device is being confiscated which will make it a dual
offense.
 Providing any cell phone or electronic device to another Executive will result in
both Executives receiving consequences.
Executives’ uniforms will be thoroughly inspected every
morning to give an opportunity to correct any
violation before classes begin. When there is any
uniform violation during any class, Executives will
receive an immediate 3 demerits and a Demerit
Referral Form to receive a consequence based on the
consequence ladder. The Executive will not continue
to receive demerits for that uniform
offense in other classes on that day.
 Extreme Destruction of School Property
 Insubordination – blatant refusal to follow an adult’s direction, cursing staff
 Possession of a weapon on school property
 Providing any contraband item to another Executive
 Threatening language or gestures (middle finger, balling and pounding fists,
jumping at teacher)
 Offensive teasing/checking(using profanity and harsh words)
 Obscene gestures(grabbing private parts)
 Cyber bullying/Bullying
 PDA (public display of affection within 1000 feet of school during, before or after
school)(touching each other body parts including private parts)
 PhysicalViolence
 Any gang activity including paraphernalia, signs, handshakes, uniform, etc.
 Stealing of any kind, e.g. school, teacher and student supplies, property, money
and electronics
 Refusal to surrender a cell phone or electronic devices (whether the electronic
device belongs to the Executive or anyone else) will escalate the cell phone policy
into a dual infraction which will include INSUBORDINATION.
Progress Report Weeks 1- 4.5
 Grade E – 0-2 Demerits
 Grade S – 3-5 Demerits
 Grade N – 6-9 Demerits
 Grade U – 10+ Demerits
Report Card Weeks 1 – 9
 Grade E- 0-3 Demerits
 Grade S – 4-7 Demerits
 Grade N - 8-11 Demerits
 Grade U – 12+ Demerits
*Any 3 immediate demerit results in an N in conduct*
 Bi -Weekly Out of Uniform Fridays based on Demerits
NOT MBAbucks – Executives who are eligible may dress
out of uniform in school appropriate attire every other
Friday.
 Eligibility Requirements for Bi - Weekly Out of Uniform
Fridays:
Executives who have received 0-6 demerits during the
entire nine day period
 If an Executive earns a 3 immediate demerit violation in the
nine day period, the violation will prohibit s/he from
participating in the Bi -Weekly Out of Uniform Friday.
After an Executive has received 3 Out of School
Suspensions (3 Strikes andYou’re Out), the
Executive may be recommended to withdraw or be
expelled from MBA.This means that an Executive
has transitioned all the way through the demerit
consequence system three times and has not
improved.This is at the discretion of administration.
 The first time an Executive is late within any
single class; he or she will receive one demerit.
The second time an Executive is late within
any single class; the Executive will receive an
immediate three demerit and a Demerit
Referral Form to receive consequence from
Administration.
 If an Executive arrives after 7:30, the
Executive’s parent or guardian
must physically sign them in at the
front desk.

  • 8.  Destruction of school property  Profanity  Cheating  Uniform violation – Executives’ uniforms will be thoroughly inspected every morning to give an opportunity to correct any violation before classes begin. When there is any uniform violation during any class, Executives will receive an immediate 3 demerits and a Demerit Referral Form.  Disruptive behavior (screaming, horseplay, beating on walls, running, randomly knocking on teachers’ doors, public displays of affection, throwing, singing, humming, dancing, outbursts, taping, or beating on the desk, etc.)  Disrespect to adults (Responding negatively: I don’t care, so, shrugging shoulders, rolling eyes, not responding when asked a question, etc.)  PDA (public display of affection within 1000 feet of school during, before or after school) (hugging, holding hands, kissing)  Tardy to class – 2nd tardy to the same period in the same week  Skipping class or other required meetings during school day  Leaving campus without proper procedure  Threatening language or gestures (middle finger, balling and pounding fists, jumping at teacher) (cause for immediate suspension)  Offensive teasing/checking(using profanity and harsh words)  Obscene gestures (cause for immediate suspension)  Cyber bullying/Bullying (cause for immediate suspension or expulsion)  PhysicalViolence (cause for immediate suspension or expulsion)  Possession of a weapon on school property (cause for immediate suspension or expulsion)  Stealing of any kind, e.g. school, teacher and student supplies, school property, money and electronics (cause for immediate suspension or expulsion)  Executives being in any restricted area in the school or outside the school without permission.  2nd Violation of cell phone or electronic device (whether phone or electronic device is on or off.) Phone or electronic device will be confiscated from Executive for 4 weeks, and phone will be turned in to administration. (This is the consequence for this particular offense.)

Four Step Consequence Ladder  Step 1 = First set of 3 Demerits within a single class = Silent Lunch Detention + Reflection Letter + Parent Contact  Step 2 = Second set of 3 Demerits within a single class = Silent Lunch Detention and Afterschool Detention + Reflection Letter + Parent Contact  Step 3 =Third set of 3 Demerits within a single class = 1 Day In Class Suspension (ICS) + Silent Lunch Detention + Service vest + Action Plan + In –Person Parent Conference with 3 days of offense  Step 4 = Fourth set of 3 Demerits within a single class = 1 Day Out of School Suspension + NewAction Plan + Make up Work + In –Person ParentConference with 3 days of offense + Completed Action Plan and Assignments in order to return

CONSEQUENCE FOR INFRACTION FOR CELL PHONE & ELECTRONIC DEVICES  The 1st time a cell phone or electronic device is visible without being on within any single class, the Executive will receive one Demerit. OR The 1st time a cell phone or electronic device is visible and it is on will result in a 3 immediate demerit, DemeritViolation, and confiscation of the cell for four weeks from the date of the violation.  The 2nd time a cell phone or electronic device is visible whether on or off will result in a 3 immediate demerit, DemeritViolation, and confiscation of the cell for four weeks from the date of the violation.The device must be turned in to Administration.The consequence ladder will not be utilized unless the Executive is insubordinate when the device is being confiscated which will make it a dual offense.  Providing any cell phone or electronic device to another Executive will result in both Executives receiving consequences.
  • 11. Executives’ uniforms will be thoroughly inspected every morning to give an opportunity to correct any violation before classes begin. When there is any uniform violation during any class, Executives will receive an immediate 3 demerits and a Demerit Referral Form to receive a consequence based on the consequence ladder. The Executive will not continue to receive demerits for that uniform offense in other classes on that day.
  • 12.  Extreme Destruction of School Property  Insubordination – blatant refusal to follow an adult’s direction, cursing staff  Possession of a weapon on school property  Providing any contraband item to another Executive  Threatening language or gestures (middle finger, balling and pounding fists, jumping at teacher)  Offensive teasing/checking(using profanity and harsh words)  Obscene gestures(grabbing private parts)  Cyber bullying/Bullying  PDA (public display of affection within 1000 feet of school during, before or after school)(touching each other body parts including private parts)  PhysicalViolence  Any gang activity including paraphernalia, signs, handshakes, uniform, etc.  Stealing of any kind, e.g. school, teacher and student supplies, property, money and electronics  Refusal to surrender a cell phone or electronic devices (whether the electronic device belongs to the Executive or anyone else) will escalate the cell phone policy into a dual infraction which will include INSUBORDINATION.

  • 14.  Bi -Weekly Out of Uniform Fridays based on Demerits NOT MBAbucks – Executives who are eligible may dress out of uniform in school appropriate attire every other Friday.  Eligibility Requirements for Bi - Weekly Out of Uniform Fridays: Executives who have received 0-6 demerits during the entire nine day period  If an Executive earns a 3 immediate demerit violation in the nine day period, the violation will prohibit s/he from participating in the Bi -Weekly Out of Uniform Friday.
  • 15. After an Executive has received 3 Out of School Suspensions (3 Strikes andYou’re Out), the Executive may be recommended to withdraw or be expelled from MBA.This means that an Executive has transitioned all the way through the demerit consequence system three times and has not improved.This is at the discretion of administration.
  • 16.  The first time an Executive is late within any single class; he or she will receive one demerit. The second time an Executive is late within any single class; the Executive will receive an immediate three demerit and a Demerit Referral Form to receive consequence from Administration.  If an Executive arrives after 7:30, the Executive’s parent or guardian must physically sign them in at the front desk.
