2. 1.- DEFINITION A blog (a contraction of the tern weblog) is a type of webside, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “ Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
3. 2.-TYPES OF BLOGS 2.1.- PERSONAL BLOG: A blog create by an individual who posts frequently, two times a week for example. It is the most tradicional and common blog. Microblogging is a type of personal blog that seeks to capture a moment in time, as its occurs, for instance TWITTER. 2.2.- CORPORATE BLOG: A blog used in a company for business purpouses. 2.3.- QUESTION BLOGGING/ QLOG. A kind of blog that answers questions.

5. 3.- THE BLOGOSPHERE The collective community of all blogs is known as the blogosphere. Discussions “in the blogosphere” have been used by the media as a gauge of public opinion on varios issues. A collection of local blogs is sometimes referred to as a bloghood.
6. 4.- THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS Scientists have long known the therapeutic benefits of writing about personal experiences. Reserch shows that improves memory and sleep, boosts immune cell activity and reduces viral load in AIDs patients and even speeds healing after surgery. 7. 5.- EDUCATION BLOG/ EDUBLOG An edublog is a blog focused on education. Types of edublog: - Teacher´s blog: it´s a blog used by a teacher to explain lessons, ideas or to uploud complementary resources. It pretends to motivate pupils and it´s usually interactive, it allows pupil´s comments. - Class blog: all the members of a class can participate posting, pupils and teachers all together. The e-mail and the password that permits the access is known by all of them. This blog is used to shows pupil´s proyects basically. - Collective blog: a blog used by a group of teachers or other related professionals like psychologists or so. They show and share their resources, ideas and projects.

9. 6.- EDUBLOG. DO IT YOURSELF There are lots of sites where you can host your edublog. Nowadays the most popular are: blogger and blogia. I choose blogger because for me it´s easier to understand than others. In case somebody get lost in blogging there is a lot of information in the net, including forums to solve any situation. 1 st step: www.blogger.com 2 nd step: Get a gmail account 3 rd step: Name your blog 4 th step. 17. 7.- MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I started my edublog last setember and I´m glad with it. It has many advantages like: - I can post any kind of resources: Videos, photos, texts, ideas, opinions, pupil´s works, events... - I explain easily with it contemporary art and other aspects of visual culture (museums, artists, exhibitions, paintings, scultures, architecture, conceptual and formal analysis...) - It´s a testimony of my pupils´s work and mine, and I can evaluate it. - It motivates me to investigate and to find new resources. - On the other hand, I know other blogs more interactives with pupils than mine.
