A treat with your friends might seem incomplete without a social media update on what and where you are eating. The popularity of casual dining restaurants is increasing day by day. Even fast-casual restaurants, which are between fast food and casual dining restaurants, are becoming increasingly popular in US. How has social media changed the casual dining space in US? This report considers 5 chains of casual dining restaurants in the U.S. and analyses their presence and strategies on various social media platforms.

Description: Digital technologies have fundamentally changed the way people read and consume information. If your nonprofit is not embracing digital tools to compose a compelling narrative around your cause, your information could be getting lost in the noise. In this increasingly competitive landscape for donors’ attention and support, getting people to notice and to hear your message can seem impossible. Email communications, social media, and mobile are all important to understand, but how will these tools really help you connect with your donors and supporters?

The power of storytelling for fundraising and showcasing impact to donors is undeniable. However, the fundraising landscape has changed dramatically, and the way in which fundraisers collect and share their stories needs to adapt. Digital technologies have fundamentally changed the way people research, consume, and share information. They have also changed the way people give to causes they care about. In just one year, people raised over $300 million using Facebook birthday fundraisers. That number is expected to double this year. Storytelling using digital channels such as websites, email, and social media platforms is one of the best ways to change hearts and minds around a cause. Digital storytelling is also an effective way to reach new donors while deepening relationships with current supporters. In this session, author and global authority on nonprofit digital storytelling Julia Campbell will walk you through the modern day secrets to nonprofit digital storytelling success, based on her bestselling book for nonprofits. Learning objectives: How to employ Julia’s 3-part digital storytelling framework to turn donors from passive to passionate; How to create a system to collect the best fundraising stories for your organization; How to use stories to address myths and misconceptions about your work and to truly express your impact; Free and low-cost tools you can use to enhance your digital storytelling - even if you are not tech-savvy; and Real-world examples from small and mid-size nonprofits.

Predictive analytics built on massive amounts of data, complex scientific modeling, and tens of thousands of simulations doesn’t add up to much to a farmer, if you haven’t gained their trust. Gaining trust is an important goal for any display of information, especially when your customer expects it to inform critical decisions with lasting effects, i.e. bet the farm. Getting to know your customer intimately and designing the appropriate user experience is essential. In this presentation I will share our experience at The Climate Corporation designing data visualizations and displays of predictive models for this unique group of customers and walk through a process your company can use to do the same.

A lot has been said about the potential and the promise of storytelling for nonprofits. Stories have the power to persuade, to captivate, and to move people from passive to active. Human brains are wired to remember stories - not just to hear or listen to stories, but to experience them along with the storyteller. The current fast-changing, always-on digital reality demands ever-more creative approaches to storytelling - to grab attention, to pique curiosity, and to inspire action. Join us for a workshop with digital storytelling expert Julia Campbell to discuss: As social change agents and nonprofit professionals, how do we build a community of raving fans using the stories we already have? How can we make complex and difficult issues come to life through stories? Julia will show you how to use compelling storytelling on digital channels to build a vision of hope, to make deeper connections with supporters, and to create a community of volunteers eager to help spread the word. At the end of the session, participants will be able to… 1. Employ Julia’s 3-part digital storytelling framework to turn supporters from passive to passionate. 2. Create a system to collect the best volunteer recruitment stories for your organization. 3. Apply emerging technologies that nonprofits can use to recruit volunteers with digital storytelling.

Social media was once promised as the silver bullet for nonprofits. Start posting, start tweeting, start Instagramming - and like magic, the donations will just roll in! Then reality set in. In our current attention economy, organic (unpaid) reach is down, algorithms prioritize updates from friends and family over businesses and brands, and millions upon millions of pieces of content are uploaded every single day. For nonprofits to effectively raise money and build a community on social media requires thoughtful, strategic, and consistent effort and a boatload of creativity. In this workshop, social media and digital fundraising expert, Julia Campbell will walk you through the secrets to successful donor relations with social media. Participants will learn... How to navigate the latest changes and trends in the social media landscape - what fundraisers need to know; How to use social media to build and deepen relationships with current donors and prospects; How to manage social media work at a small nonprofit with limited capacity; Free and low-cost tools you can use to enhance your digital fundraising on a shoestring budget; and Real-world examples from small and mid-size nonprofits.

Tracing the root cause of a performance issue requires a lot of patience, experience, and focus. It’s so hard that we sometimes attempt to guess by trying out tentative fixes, but that usually results in frustration, messy code, and a considerable waste of time and money. This talk explains how to correctly zoom in on a performance bottleneck using three levels of profiling: distributed tracing, metrics, and method profiling. After we learn to read the JVM profiler output as a flame graph, we explore a series of bottlenecks typical for backend systems, like connection/thread pool starvation, invisible aspects, blocking code, hot CPU methods, lock contention, and Virtual Thread pinning, and we learn to trace them even if they occur in library code you are not familiar with. Attend this talk and prepare for the performance issues that will eventually hit any successful system. About authorWith two decades of experience, Victor is a Java Champion working as a trainer for top companies in Europe. Five thousands developers in 120 companies attended his workshops, so he gets to debate every week the challenges that various projects struggle with. In return, Victor summarizes key points from these workshops in conference talks and online meetups for the European Software Crafters, the world’s largest developer community around architecture, refactoring, and testing. Discover how Victor can help you on victorrentea.ro : company training catalog, consultancy and YouTube playlists.

In the thrilling conclusion to 2023, ransomware groups had a banner year, really outdoing themselves in the "make everyone's life miserable" department. LockBit 3.0 took gold in the hacking olympics, followed by the plucky upstarts Clop and ALPHV/BlackCat. Apparently, 48% of organizations were feeling left out and decided to get in on the cyber attack action. Business services won the "most likely to get digitally mugged" award, with education and retail nipping at their heels. Hackers expanded their repertoire beyond boring old encryption to the much more exciting world of extortion. The US, UK and Canada took top honors in the "countries most likely to pay up" category. Bitcoins were the currency of choice for discerning hackers, because who doesn't love untraceable money?

Among the critical lifelines in this bustling metropolis is the Dubai International Airport, a bustling hub that connects the city to the world. This article explores the intersection of Dubai flood events and the resilience demonstrated by the Dubai International Airport in the face of such challenges.

The microservices honeymoon is over. When starting a new project or revamping a legacy monolith, teams started looking for alternatives to microservices. The Modular Monolith, or 'Modulith', is an architecture that reaps the benefits of (vertical) functional decoupling without the high costs associated with separate deployments. This talk will delve into the advantages and challenges of this progressive architecture, beginning with exploring the concept of a 'module', its internal structure, public API, and inter-module communication patterns. Supported by spring-modulith, the talk provides practical guidance on addressing the main challenges of a Modultith Architecture: finding and guarding module boundaries, data decoupling, and integration module-testing. You should not miss this talk if you are a software architect or tech lead seeking practical, scalable solutions. About the author With two decades of experience, Victor is a Java Champion working as a trainer for top companies in Europe.
