Mimio Studio Tool bars and icon identification - basics
1. Using Mimio Studio Software
A Beginners Guide to basic icon
identification
2. The Mimio Studio tool bars have icons that are very similar to others in
common software applications. The word indicators, file, edit, view
etc. provide the same actions as other programs with these commands.
The row below from right to left the icons are
• Open – signifying open a file
• Save - providing the save option
• Print – access to the print option
• Cut - cut an item
• Copy – copy an item to the clipboard
• Paste – paste an item that has been cut or copied
• X - the delete option allowing you to delete a created item
3. The left half of the tool bar has the following icons.
• Undo
• Redo
• + indicating new page
• + indicating new activity
• Left arrow – go back to previous page
• Right arrow – advance to next page
• Magnify – zoom out
• Shrink – zoom in
• Zoom full
• Full screen
4. The new activity icon allows the
user to build an activity from the
activity content engine in the
software. An example of that
activity is shown at left.
There are a number of styles and
subjects in the activity generator.
We will delve into this at more
length in another segment.
5. Icons on the top half of the Mimio Studio tool bar are as
Follows. From left clockwise
• The arrow indicating the pointer allowing you to choose
and item
• Magnifying glass

• Shape chooser tool
• Insert tool (for pictures and files)

6. Here are 2 views of the tool bar. The left
shows the shape tool bar activated with the
options for line style and different types of
shapes. The right shows the active tool bar
when a shape is chosen. You can choose fill
and outline color.

range to choose from.
You can also create custom colors.
The colors can be applied to shapes,
text, lines, backgrounds,
transparency and highlighting in
Mimio Studio.
8. The Gallery icon allows the user access to
gallery content. Preloaded content that
comes with your Mimio Studio software is
accessible, screen annotations from your
own work and any custom content that you
load is accessed here. Content is key word
searchable.
For purposes of this orientation we will delve
into the gallery more in depth in our next
training segment.
Icons along the top are
• New folder
• Insert file
• Copy
• Paste
• Delete
• Import content
• Export content
9. This presentation is designed to familiarize the Mimio Studio
user with the names of the icons and in some cases the basic
functions. The more common icons perform much the same as
they would in other programs. There are more specialized
icons with in both tool bars in the software. Those functions
and specifics will be revisited and explored more in depth in an
upcoming segment.
