1. BARON PIERRE DE
COUBERTIN
Baron Pierre De Coubertin.
Baron Pierre De Coubertin was born on 1st january 1863
and died in 1937. Baron was the founder of the I.O.C
(international olympic committee) and the modern olympics
in 1896. They would be held every 4 years and there were
302 events and 28 sports. 76 countrys would attend. Baron
thought that only amateurs should be allowed to enter
because trained athletes would just beat them.
2. MASCOTS!
Who are they? The London 2012
Olympic mascots are wenlock and
mandevillie. they are one eyed robots.
Who created them? In 2008 the london
olympic committee ran a poll to see who
could come up with the best idea for a
mascot. After deciding the winning
mascots they sent the idea to a london
creative agency iris who did the rest.
3. THE OLYMPIC FLAG
What is the point of the colors? The colors
on the flag are to represent the 5 major
places in the world: Afrca, the Americas,
Asia, Europe and Oceana. these colors also
feature in all the flags in the world!
