Ansel Adams was born in 1902 in San Francisco. He had a restless youth but found a love for music. In 1927, he made his first portfolio and believed his photographs had reached a stage worthy of critical examination. Adams took photos that emphasized technique to express his radical political and aesthetic ideals. He enhanced nature and decreased human impact. Famous photos included Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico from 1941.
