opera for fans of
classical art with
the support of
the Mongolian
Conservatory and the Mongolian State Academic Theater of Opera
and Ballet, Arts Council of Mongolia is working to revive this
opera on stage.

ACM is celebrating its 20th anniversary
in 2022 un
der the theme, “20 years of
building suc
cess & legacy”. We have been
par
tici
pating in international and domes
tic projects and programs implemented by
ACM in the past, leading 8 artists who are
leading in the field of culture and arts, and
disseminating their talents and knowledge
to others.
D.Davaanyam, the first participant
of the “Focus on Kids” project, the
Executive Director and photographer of
the Ts.Batzorig Foundation, was selected
as the Highlighted Artist in the field of
photography. An exhibition of his work
and alumni black-and-white photographs
will be presented at the Red Ger creative
space on April 7-16, 2022.

Arts Council of Mongolia
(ACM) is an arts and
culture NGO, established by
Mongolian arts, civic, and
business leaders in 2002 with
the support of the Mongolian
Foundation for an Open
Society (Soros Foundation).
Its mission is to support the
sustainable development of
Mongolian arts and culture
and the preservation of
cultural heritage. From
March to December 2022, the
ACM will celebrate its 20th
anniversary with a series of
program launches and events
which aim to commemorate
20 Years of Building Success
and Legacy; to promote
artistic excellence; to
preserve Mongolian cultural
heritage; to build creative
youth and children; and to
bring arts to the public.
For the past two decades
of operation, ACM es
tab
lished a strong and
vi
sible infrastructure, gover
nan
ce, human resources and
has achieved a significant
prog
ram and fundraising suc
cess with supports of local
and international part
ners
on national and inter
na
tio
nal levels within increa
sed program areas. ACM
fo
cuses on increasing the
com
petitiveness of arts and
culture in Mongolia by fos
tering artistic excellence, new
media, by enhancing in
ter
national collaboration, and
by promoting Mongolian arts
and culture abroad and inter
national arts in Mongolia.
ACM has expanded its
international cooperations
in the arts field through pro
motion of Mongolian culture
to an international level
and has increased the flow
of Mon
golian artists onto
inter
national scenes and
foreign artists’ performan
ces to Mongolia. ACM has
es
tablished creative partner
ships with cultural organi
za
tions and artists from more
than 60 countries. It has also
focused on promoting the
role and importance of the
arts in developing crea
tive
citizens through community
art education, and the pre
ser
vation and dissemi
nation of
cultural heritage.
In 2022, ACM is celebra
ting its 20th anniversary un
der a slogan of “20 years of
Buil
ding Success and Lega
cy” and initiating a cam
paign
that aims to promote the ac
complishments, contributions,
impacts, investments, part
ner
ships and values that are
created by the Arts Council of
Mongolia during the last 20
years.
Within the framework
of the 20th anniversary,
ACM plans to organize a
year-long event to publici
ze
its contribution to the deve
lopment of the Mon
golian arts
and culture sector, its achie
vements, and creative part
nerships. ACM will work with
8 highlighted artists in the art
field, such as music, dance,
literature, film, photography,
media, fine arts, and cultural
heritage throughout the year.
Those artists have been wor
king with ACM for many
years of stable cooperation,
suc
cessful participation in
natio
nal and international
projects and programs imple
mented by ACM, leaders in
the culture and arts sector,
and disseminate their talents
and knowledge to others in
ternationally and nationally.

ACM are D.Davaanyam, a

the Ts. Batzorig Foundation,
D.Enkhgerel, an artistic direc
tor and choreographer of the
Hun Theater, B. Bat- Erdene a
media artist, U.Byambanyam
a literary critic, P.Zoljargal a
film director, M.Erdenebayar a
visual artist, “Arga Bileg” eth
nic jazz band, Choijin Lama
Temple Museum, and these
8 artists and organizations
will represent and share the
suc
cess and legacy of ACM
throughout the year.
ACM highlights its contri
bu
tions and achieve
ments in
the field of economic growth
and in the framework of social
responsibility. By December,
2021, ACM raised 8.5 million
US dollars to support the de
velopment of arts and culture,
initiated over 729 projects,
worked with 1376 sponsors,
created 1517 jobs, and paid
$570,000 in taxes.
ACM highlights its sup
port to enhance artistic excel
lence and nurture talents.
ACM has supported and built
capacities of 5591 artists and
cultural bearers, 1418 art ma
nagers through art works and
professional trainings and has
granted local and international
scholarships to 443 emerging
talents, and trained and in
vol
ved 1441 teachers and 9375
students and children in diffe
rent community arts education
projects, and reached out to an
audience of 4,500,000 vie
wers.
ACM highlights its achie
vements of building creative
partnerships and cooperation
with local and international
partner organizations within
the sector and with other
sec
tors by sending artists to
international art festivals,
exhi
bitions, long-term and
short-term trainings, exchan
ge programs and tours.
Within this framework, ACM
supported over 542 artists to
participate in international
projects to promote inter
na
tio
nal cultural exchanges. ACM
has built a working partner
ship with 240 international
donors, 180 international part
ners, 225 local donors and
731 partner organizations to
con
tribute to the development
of Mongolian arts and culture.
