Project proposal title and date:
Creating a clothing brand /// March – June 2022
Main area of activity:
Creating the identity of a new fashion brand (graphic design)
Rationale:
Throughout this media course, I have learned different techniques in both graphic design and
video editing which will eventually help me find a career later in life. I have also learned other
useful skills throughout my previous projects, such as researching pre-existing styles and products
as well as planning out my work efficiently to make sure it’s both fully completed and handed in on
time. The first half of my previous project focused on creating a poster and a magazine cover for a
hypothetical film, which I feel helped me learn different techniques in Photoshop that will benefit
my final major project.
Project Concept:
For my final major project, the concept will be creating the identity of a hypothetical fashion brand,
including its logo, advertising material, and clothing designs. In order to do this, I will need to start
researching pre-existing streetwear brands as well as general graphic design companies to learn
how they are produced and manufactured. I will also need to learn how to use programs such as
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to design these products, as well as Adobe Premiere Pro
to create promotional material for the hypothetical brand’s social media.
How the project will be evaluated and reviewed:
Our class will be evaluating and reviewing our own work throughout the first half of the project
weekly. This was done in the adventure project we were doing before this, but to a lesser extent.
This will help me learn how to evaluate my own work in the future, whether I pursue a career in
media or not.
