2. Our big dream of ending hunger , so that
no stomach remains empty before bed
3. Introduction
• Raw form to Plate
• Food safety, consumer care and economically sustainable
form
4. We must deal with problem of all component for
getting sustainability and ending hunger
• Producer
Economically poor
Very low support from government
Less availability of inputs and technology
Market problems
Many suicides cases come yearly
Loans and banking problem
Water scarcity
Less technical knowledge
6. •Food processing
• Absence of such industries
• Insufficient raw materials
• Poor quality of inputs
• Seasonal production of commodity
• Poor trained personal
• Lack of hygiene and sanitation practice
• Inappropriate packaging material and high packaging cost
• Weak market development
7. •Retailers and distributers
• Open market
• Long chain of middleman
• Low keeping quality
• Limited business knowledge
• Lack of storage
• Lack of grading
• Consumer
• High price
• Low quality and food safety
8. Solution where technicians of agriculture can
work
• Work as Extension agent (Research center and farmer field)
• Provide technical knowledge on raising farms , IPM knowledge , off season
production techniques
• Establishment of different farmers group
• Changing cropping practice
• Giving trainings

9. • Shortening the cycle
• Online and pre-booking system
• Price tagging system
• We can break the chain , make it shorter and help to flourish the system.
• Direct farmer to costumer contact can also help to reduce increasing rate.
• Due to heavy debts and loans, farmer themselves are saving food for only
one meal . We can help them by giving idea to increase quality and
quantity in same price.
10. Our mission on Sustainable Agriculture
• The objective of supply chain sustainability, as defined by UN Global Compact is to
“create, protect and grow long-term environmental, social and economic value for
all stakeholders involved in bringing products and services to market.
• learn from nature's bag of tricks. For eg, farmers can increase the organic matter
content of their soils -- thereby improving soil texture and water-holding capacity .
• the farm's own cows and horses can provide sufficient manure for composting.
• Farmers can also mimic nature by planting disease-resistant varieties of crops and
using companion plants to attract beneficial insects that ward off invasive pests.
• Minimize environmental degradation,
• Improve the land and the health of the broader ecosystem
11. A project in our mind
1) Vertical Coordination
There are three types of farmers in Nepal
• Rich farmer whose farm has more than enough products
• Subsistence farmers
• Seasonal (labor) and poor farmers
If we have enough manpower to study the data of those people than we
could make a contact between the rich and poor groups. We know all rich
wont give help to all . But we can make a effort to convince them for
helping at least one family in this lockdown. This can be a big effort to
reduce hungry stomach
12. • 2) Establishment of food bank
Food bank can also be next option to simplify the food distribution ,here
every shopkeeper can donate something from its shop and every large size
farm house can donate their ag commodity and then after collecting all
those we could either give to the needy one or sometime give tender to
some helpful catering to serve those people.
