2. Chronology
• On April 25, 2008, Eka Tjipta Widjaja made testament with Winanto
Wiryomartani, S.H., M.Hum as notary, in West Jakarta. Eka Tjipta is
the founder of Sinarmas. The company has been engaged in various
business sectors, from property, pulp and paper, plantation,
processing industry, to finance.
• On January 26, 2019, Eka Tjipta Widjaja passed away at the age of 98.
Until the end of his life, Eka Tjipta Widjaja was known to have four
wives and 28 children based on his testament.
3. • The total value of the inheritance distributed is IDR 76 billion for 34
recipients. It is stated that Freddy Widjaja received Rp. 1 billion and
also some of Eka Tjipta Widjaja's children who received Rp. 2 billion
and Rp. 1 billion. If there is any remaining money, it will be handed
over to Teguh Ganda Widjaja, Indra Widjaja, Muktar Widjaja, Djafar
Widjaja and Franky Oesman Widjaja. Eka Tjipta Widjaja appointed
Indra Widjaja and Elly Romsiah as executors of testament.
4. • In February 2019, Indra Widjaja summoned all of Eka Tjipta's children to
share inheritance. After the meeting, Freddy knew that He only received
Rp. 1 billion. Meanwhile, 15 other people received Rp. 2 billion.
• In January 2020, Freddy submitted the legalization of his status for children
outside of marriage to the Supreme Court. According to his letter of
approval, Freddy was listed as the son of Eka and Lidia, who were known to
have married on October 3, 1967, using traditional or Buddhist religion in
Jakarta. However, the marriage was reportedly not registered with the Civil
Registry.
• The Supreme Court granted Freddy's request and confirmed Freddy's
status as a child of the marriage between Mrs. Lidia Herawati Rusli and Mr.
Eka Tjipta Widjaja in accordance with his birth certificate No. 2731 / DP /
1968.
5. • On June 16, 2020, Freddy Widjaja filed a lawsuit against his half
brothers at the Central Jakarta District Court with case number 301 /
Pdt.G / 2020 / PN Jkt.Pst. He demanded the right to share in half the
legacy of the late Eka Tjipta. The five heirs to be sued are Indra
Widjaja, Teguh Ganda Widjaja, Muktar Widjaja, Djafar Wijaja and
Franky Oesman Widjaja.
• In the petitum, Freddy asked the panel of judges to punish the
defendant by dividing the inheritance of each half according to civil
law. He also asked the judges to determine the guarantee confiscation
(conservatoir Beslaag) of the inheritance is valid and valuable, and
asked the defendant to pay the costs incurred in this case.
6. The inheritance property being sued is the company's assets valued at Rp.
672.61 trillion, including:

7. • On June 29, 2020, the first trial of the lawsuit was held. However, the
parties were not present.
• On July 13, 2020, a second trial was held.
• In August 2020, the Panel of Judges at the Central Jakarta District
Court granted the withdrawal of the dispute over the inheritance
rights of Sinar Mas founder Freddy Widjaja. Therefore, case Number
301 / Pdt.G / 2020 / PN Jkt.Pst is no longer registered with the Central
Jakarta District Court.
