Overview
This presentation is a culmination of my experiences in managing projects great and small virtually
(and predates the societal events of early 2020).
Thoughts and concepts presented may not be the only way to get the job done!

on time, if you are on
time you are late”!

6. Meetings & Time
Meetings for productivity, training or status?
o Know what the purpose of the meeting is before you
set it up.
o Agenda, what agenda?
K.I.S.S. – a simple agenda is better than not
having one.
Do include your meeting agenda in the meeting
invitation.
Do include any documentation you wish to review
with the meeting invitation.
o Set expectations, call out (privately) those fail to
meet expectations.

7. Meetings & Time Continued
o Do keep meetings on track, status meetings are for
reporting, Work meetings are for work!
o Do keep notes or ask someone to do so: distribute
them!
Meetings should start on time and end on time or
earlier.
Meeting platforms: Use one that works for the team.

13. People
In cyberspace, you almost never pick the
people you have on a project team.
Be prepared for “bad days”, work conflicts
and other projects.
Give Thanks!

Parting Shots
As technologies evolve it is hoped that virtual project management will become simpler.
In the end, technology still cannot take the place of professional, ethical project management
leadership, so expect to continue to manage people.
