Proprietarily and confidential 16APSK Over Satellite – Saturated Transponder Case • InterSKY system allows to work with saturated transponder using : – Embedded equalizer in the modulator – Back-off according to the DVB-S2 standard – Taking into account the degradation – "ETSI TR 102 376 V1.1.1 (2005-02) Technical Report" in case of 16APSK and with dynamic predistortion the expected degradation is 1.5 dB and the required backoff is IBO = 1.0 dB ; OBO = 1.1 dB Best Outbound Solution in the Industry

Is the % of time which the Outbound will be operating with the highest MODCOD. For this case, the Outbound will operate under 16APSK FEC 0.8 in 92% of the time. .- What mean Required MODCOD Availability ? Is the MODCOD use to guarantee the availability required to the network: 99%. For this case, the Outbound will operate under 8PSK FEC 0.8333 with bad climate condition, worst case. .- How long time the Outbound will operate in Highest MODCOD and in Required MODCOD ? To this case Highest MODCOD: 92% of the time. To this case Required MODCOD: 99%-92% = 7% of the time. .- What about the Inbound ? The analysis is similar but the Highest MODCOD supported is 8PSK FEC 0.833. .- What about the satellites Power and BW resources use ? Like 16APSK use less BW but more power resources from the satellite. The systems is designed to do the balance Power Vs BW between the Outbound and Inbound. The total power and BW used is balance.
