Dinning Dollar$ and the
meal plan are the only
thing to expire at the end
of the semester.
Please make sure your
Flex Dollar$, INCLUDING
residents are aware Free Flex that were given
that Stingers will to apartment residents,
close on December 13. will not expire until May!
Also, dinning dollars will
expire on December 13.
Residents must use
them or lose them.
10. When picking up the duty
books, remember…
-To make sure you have they keys!
-To make sure the phone is charged
-Make sure you have the necessary forms…
Please take note:
You should NEVER keep the master keys!
I Spy forms are completed online.
Any notices that are left for residents (trash,
etc) need a follow up e-mail to all residents of
the room/ suite/ apartment!
When returning duty books, remember...
-Make sure the KEYS are in the folder
-Make sure you plug in the phone
-Make sure to pull out any notices or forms that
were issued while you were on duty!
11. When on duty,
remember…
• RA’s sit at the desk from 5 to
6pm
• DA’s start promptly at 6pm
• Reset the furniture!
• MUST complete a roster check
and lockout form BEFORE
completing a lockout.
12. Safety First!
• If you suspect any type of drug use or foul
play, please call Campus Police immediately!

• Over the break, make sure that your
residents lock everything!
(closets, wardrobes, bedrooms, windows, cars, etc)
• When conducting rounds, keep
an eye out for open windows, doors,
and any sign of forced entry.
14. Duty Over Break!
• Residence Life will close for the holidays on
Friday, December 23 so the duty phone
needs to be picked up by 12noon.
• The school will be closed from Satuday,
December 23 through Tuesday, January 3 .
During this time, you will treat duty as if it
is the weekend. You are responsible for
holding the phone from 4:30pm to 4:30pm.
• DO NOT bring the phone to the office when
then school is closed (December 23-
January 4) during this time- no one will be
there! You are responsible for calling the
person on duty after you. If you have any
problems, please call ProStaff.
15. Duty Over Break!
• Normal duty hours will resume on
Tuesday, January 3, when the Housing
Office will re-open at 8:00am.
• The duty phone and book will be
picked up and returned to the Housing
Office January 3-5 while we are on the
RHA Ski Trip.
• We go back to regular duty, all three
duty phones, on Friday, January 6.
• If you have any questions, please ask
your coordinator!

19. RHA Ski/ Snowboard Trip!
January 3-5, 2012
Cataloochee Ski Resort
Maggie Valley, NC
Cost. per person:
Ski: $125 With own Equipment: $75
Snowboard: $175 With own Equipment: $125
Pricing Includes Travel, Lodging, Ski & Snowboard
Equipment (unless you have your own), and Lift Tickets.
Only money needed will be for Food and Souvenirs.
The sign ups will be in the housing office. A deposit of 50
dollars is needed by November 18 and the final payment
on December 2.

Host: The duties for this stations are to assist the
Elf Duties include…
reception area in guiding incoming visitors
(1 per shift)
Front Desk: This person will greet clients. Cross
reference client names against other
organization list. Must be able to tell parent
they can not shop due to being on another
list! (2 per shift)
Shoppers: Assist the parents while in the toy shop.
Walking with the parent and explaining the
allotted number of items per child. Assist in
picking out gifts (4-6 per shift)
Check out: This person will check out the shopper
and the parent once they have gone to each
station and gotten the correct amount of
items. Must be able to say no! (1 to 2 per
shift).
Stockers and Sorters: This person will sort
incoming toys and items, keeping shelves
stocked (2 to 4 per shift).
Runners: Will assist families to their cars with gift
items. (2 per shift)
