Stabilizer is a natural, organic soil stabilizer made from plant materials that is permeable and helps qualify projects for LEED certification. It is 100% natural and non-toxic, binds soil to reduce erosion, and has recycled content. Stabilizer helps contribute to 8 possible LEED credits related to stormwater management, heat island effect, recycled content, and regional materials. It is made from a renewable resource with a one year harvest cycle. Stabilizer has been used successfully on many certified projects.

25. Intent: To limit disruption, pollution of natural water flows by managing stormwater runoff. Strategy : Use alternative surfaces (e.g. pervious pavement) to reduce imperviousness, promote infiltration, reduce pollutants. Submittal : Stabilizer is pervious product Submit product tear sheet / infiltration rates. (SS) 6.1 1pt Civil Engineer Stormwater Design-Quality
26. Intent: To reduce heat islands to minimize impacts on microclimates and human and wildlife habitats. Strategy : Light-colored surfaces instead of blacktop. Replace surfaces with open grid paving or specify high-albedo materials. (SS) 7.1 1pt Landscape Architect Heat Island Effect – Non-roof
