Representative
Our current OH&S Representative is Mr. Sid Vicious, you should speak
to Sid if:
You have a health and safety hazard to report
You have any questions about OH&S in our workplace

7. Risk Management
In order to keep our workplace safe we employ various procedures
to ensure these risks are kept to a minimum
Use of clear signage and warnings
Section of workplace newsletter designated to OH&S news and hazards
Frequent OH&S emails from the OH&S officer to all staff who operate
inside of the building
8. Risk Reporting Procedure
Communicate and consult
Identify risks and report risks
Analyse risks
Evaluate risks
Treat risks
Monitor , document and review. This includes sending copies to all
necessary parties and keeping them up to date with the
management of the risk post discovery.
9. OH&S Meetings
The OH&S officer and his/her committee will meet with the business’
leaders once a fortnight
Hazards and reports will be tabled and the process of these hazards
and their safety measures will then be discussed and reviewed
If the other employees have voices concern to the OH&S officer,
he/she will share these concerns in the meeting
10. Emergency Procedures
Fire
Exit the building via designated fire exit routes
Once the building has been exited, persons are to make their way to
the emergency meeting spot
OH&S officer and managers to take head counts
Remain there whilst Fire Brigade attend to fire, and the all clear has
been given to re-enter the building
11. Emergency Procedures
Injury
Witness to injured attends the injured and calls for first aid personnel
First aid officer assesses the severity of the injury, making the decision for
which method of treatment needs to be followed. Does the injured
need an ambulance? Hospital? Doctor?
Follow up reports on how the injury happened and how similar injuries
may be prevented in the future
13. Emergency Procedures
Power Outage
Remain in position until a manager advises you
A manager will Investigate the nature and duration of the outage and
then phone the electrical company
If the outage is only temporary, a break can be taken or the UPS can be
activated to ensure work can continue
If the outage is expected to outlast the duration of time the UPS can
back up, then work will continue to managers discretion or the UPS can
no longer back up the building.
14. OH&S Responsibilities
Employers
Adequately induct, inform, train and supervise staff to ensure safe OHS
practices are understood and upheld by all team-members.
Consult with all employees regarding any decision relating to OHS in the
workplace.
Provide all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required to
ensure workers can complete their job safely. Train workers in the correct
use of the equipment.
Monitor and evaluate OHS systems and procedures to ensure that
workers are adequately protected from workplace hazards.
Provide adequate facilities for the welfare of employees. This covers
everything from providing suitable toileting facilities to conducting risk
assessments on plant and procedures.
15. OH&S Responsibilities
Employees
Work safely to protect themselves and others from injury
Report any workplace hazards. Everyone in the workplace shares this
responsibility equally.
Obey all health and safety procedures, including correctly wearing all
personal protective equipment provided.
Report any workplace injury, illness or near misses. It is important to notify
supervisors or employers of all injuries, no matter how insignificant they
seem.
Get to know emergency procedures/ and the location of the first aid kit.
Ask questions to check or clarify any issues relating to previous training,
tasks or any issue that may affect safety in the workplace.
