The next big goal of soteICT is to create a startup hub in Voi town from January 2015 to support our graduate students. An essential part of the this new stage in our project is closer cooperation with businesses, which will be able to provide our young absolvents with mentorship and deeper insight into the world of entrepreneurship. We believe that the cooperation can be fruitful for both sides...
3. Kenya as an innovator
The technology in M-Pesa
itself is not an
innovation!
The whole ecosystem of
some 20 thousand small
agents and resellers is!

• Kenyan employers find that all new
employees require additional training,
ranging from basic soft and hard skills to
specific functional and industry-specific
skills

6. Household Enterprise
• one out of every three household enterprises
in Kenya led by a young adult
• up to 70% go bust every year
• have a mild tendency to locate in places that
are not the most profitable, and have more
limited access to credit
7. UNDP Youth employment challenge
report 2013:
The size of current programmes pale in
comparison to the need for bringing more
young people into apprenticeships. It is
recommended that any scaling up of
apprenticeships should not be done in
isolation from efforts to increase
education.
