What is the difference between Internet and the Web? The Web is the HIGHER level of the net The Web is implemented via application layer protocol: HTTP The content representation language is  HTML HYPERLINK is the most important building block of the Web”:<a href=”http://purl.org/net/sopek”>My Blog</a> The addressing system, DNS  is of key importance to the Web— it alone provides URL/URI addresses (locators & identifiers) Servers and browser are created using very sophisticated software According to its creators intentions, Web is completely distributed and decentralized 3
