My goal is to have our current “landfill” dumpster be replaced by a Compost Dumpster.
Compostable waste is sorted, aged and converted into compost in the East Bay and Central Valley. Idea of “landfill” label is not derogatory, and it’s not even bad – it’s just the reality of where we are at now. I think we should accept and embrace landfill as part of this overall process: of sorting our resources, and landfill is a resource. Hopefully, we will be able to reduce our landfills in the future because it is wasteful to send matter to a place where it can not effectively be reused. Try not to add anxiety to children; these are matters that they can’t control – they can only sort the materials that we ask them to; the landfill materials are not going to “Kill the Earth”; The ecology movement is beginning the kind of indoctrination movement that can be . . . Dangerous . . . With people being emotionally blackmailed to perform certain actions: buy a Prius, recycle, etc. – it’s a dangerous slope to teach children piousness.Explain difference between biodegradable and compostable
