Sugar canes are tied at the

Some homes draw kolam near
their doorsteps
Pongal is distributed among
families and friends
Families have meals together
7. MAATTU (COW) PONGAL
Cows are decorated, garlanded
Prayers are offered for the cows
Feed them with pongal and other food
Take them around for procession
