4. There are greater poets than sarojini naidu but none
more original because she Shaw things with a fresh
approach.
In her poems she reflects the whole range of mood
and emotion with superb restraint of expression.
Her major themes were nature, love, life and death
folk life, patriotism and mysticism.
5. The bangle seller
Naidu's poem explores the imagery associated with bangles and t
he implications for women's roles in a traditionalist Indian social s
etting.
The bangle seller is trying to convince the purchasing public of
the spiritual and symbolic importance of these bangles.
In this process, the speaker makes strong connections between
the bangles and their role in providing "happy daughters and hap
py wives."
6. Palanquin Bearers
The bride in a beautifully decorated palanquin was a
common sight in rural India even in the recent past.
The lonely lady inside the palanquin is compared to a
flower, a bird, a dream, a soft laugh and a pearl; the
appeal is swift and direct to the heart.
The tone of the palanquin bearers is in complete
rapport with the heart-beat of the woman insidethe
palanquin. The poet captures the emotionally
charged atmosphere brilliantly.
7. The Radha
The Radha poem of Sarojini Naidu (1879-1949),through their
depiction of Radha's love for the Divine Beloved, worshipped as
a worldly lover, Ghanashyam, forcefully delineate and critique
the traditional Indian concepts of love and woman's destiny.
Naidu's Radha poems thus try to put forward a new concept of
Indian womanhood that values the female self, teaching in it
the principles of autonomy and self worth.

their women by the meant of veil cover their face which will not
allowed other men to see their faces, they might believe that
there women are secure in that way. but what is life if there is
