Eco-friendly idol maker
finds place in Modi's
'MannkiBaat'Vipin
Delhi: Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi gave a call to children and youth to use natu-
ral soil to carve out idols of Ganesh and Durga. Addressing the people through the radio
programme “Mann Ki Baat”, Shri Modi gave the call to revive the old tradition and protect
the environment, protect water bodies and also protect the tiny species living in water
from pollution. Shri Modi said that celebrating an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav is also a work
of social service.
Following Prime Minister’s call, idols of Ganesh are being made with natural soil across
the country. A similar initiative under the aegis of ‘Narmada Samagra’ has been organ-
ised through a workshop – ‘Aao banaayen apne haathon se apne Ganesh ki moorti’
(Come, let us make with our own hands, idols of our Ganesh) at various places along
River Narmada. During the workshop being organised by Bhopal-based, ‘Narmada
Samagra’, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Environment, Forest and Climate
Change, Shri Anil Madhav Dave, inspired children to make idols from natural soil. “Prerna
Pradhan Mantri ki, prayaas hamara, aao bachayen paani aur paryavaran” (Prime
Minister’s inspiration, our efforts…..Come, let us conserve water and protect environ-
ment), Shri Dave said on the occasion.
The workshop will continue in Bhopal till September 4. Thousands of children from
Amarkantak to Bharuch have been imparted training through the workshop.

This word sounds like
something tremendous .But
practically we all have to
take a decision in our life
and that's decision which
makes a turning point , from
school to the end of our life
we have to take lots of deci-
sions .The most sensitive
decisions of our life as a
teenager I felt are a) which
career is best for us and b)
which type of a person I
want as a my life
partner.Thinking upon
these things i swear such a
mind boggles thing both the
decision can make or
destroy our life.In childhood
my mother brought all the
things for me from hair pin
to shoes and no doubt in
this she buy's best for me
but now I want to buy my all
things as I like.Ya some-
times I takes wrong deci-
sions but now i laugh on
my silly clothes and lots of
things which i buy...still
these decisions never be
regretful for me because I
only listen my heart .We
take decisions they can be
wrong or right but its a life-
cycle.I am not only growing
as a girl to a woman but i
want to grew up as a unma-
tured girl to a matured
woman ..i want to make
myself self independent not
only earning money but tak-
ing all decisions of my life
also. But most of the disap-
pointing results are in front
of us..the person whose life
is.. expect him all the per-
sons takes his life's deci-
sion .Obviously they are
our well wishers they think
good for us .if i choose that
career in which my parents
want and marry to that guy
whom they are selected for
me perhaps i get success
,well earned and the guy
will also a great person but
a point will exactly come in
my life when i found myself
in the midst of those people
from i don't love ...and i
never want to do this mis-
take .No one will be longer
with us to take our decision
that's why we should take
our all decisions ownself.
It's doesn't mean you are
opposed to your loved
ones.Infact you are just tak-
ing stand for yourself .But
the bitter truth is that
teenager makes the same
mistake from which I want
to prevent them.Now its
their choice they choose
the show off life or a
peaceful life ..Swami
vivekanand said In a con-
flict between the heart and
the brain, follow your
heart.." and still you are
not able to take any deci-
sion so give youself some
time ..as mentioned in
Bhagavad gita .."jo ho rha
hai use hone do" lets go
with the flow .just keep pos-
itive attitude towards life
and everything will be
fine.:)

Life is like a moving cycle,
it moves accordingly the
way we want to move it.
Same happens with life!
We come in the same
phase again in the old age
as we were in the child-
hood. The way of walking,
talking ability, support of
others ,etc. The only differ-
ence is that that our mem-
ories and experiences
stay with us.
Life is to be live at it full by
watching, doing, realising,
learning. At some phase of
our life, we realise our
worth, purpose and goals .
We create our own place
by facing and tackling the
problems and learn some-
thing big and great. This
add and shows many col-
ors on our path. Thus, we
are the creators of our life.
The Growing
colours within usSubramanian Swamy, the
then Janata Party president
and now BJP’s active
member, knocked the court’s
door raising questions over
acquisition of a company that
published the now-defunct
National Herald newspaper to
which Congress gave a loan
of over Rs. 90 crores. Swamy
alleged that Sonia Gandhi
and Rahul Gandhi had floated
a company called ‘Young
Indian’, which acquired
Associated Journals, founded
by late Jawaharlal Nehru,
which published the National
Herald and Quami Awaz.
Swamy claimed it was illegal
for Congress, a political party,
to give loans for commercial
purposes. Young Indian wrote
off the loans due to Congress
for a mere Rs. 50 lakhs and by
a board resolution, the
Associate Journals is sold by
transfer of shares to Young
Indian, which is not a
newspaper or journal
producing company. Swamy
also sought summoning
documents from “the
Congress party reflecting the
loans given to AJL and
documents of the party in the
year in which the loan was
written off.” The case went on
for years and now Delhi court
issued notices to Congress
president Sonia Gandhi,
Rahul Gandhi and others on
a fresh application by Swamy
seeking summoning of
certain documents in the
National Herald case of
cheating and
misappropriation. In the
application filed before
Metropolitan Magistrate
Lovleen, Swamy has sought
summoning of documents
relating to a loan given to AJL
by the Congress, saying that
the papers were necessary
for the purpose of the trial of
the case. The documents
sought to be summoned from
the AJL, among others, are
related to authorisation by its
members to borrow money in
excess of its paid-up capital
and its free reserve, relevant
extracts from its books of
account of the loan period
and the documents by which
the loan was later converted
into shares in the books of
the company.
Further, he sought
summoning of the documents
filed by the AJL with Registrar
of Companies, papers from
the Income Tax Department
relating to I-T returns filed by
the company and some
papers from the Department
of Telecommunications.
Swamy had informed the
court, which had earlier this
year allowed his plea to
summon certain documents
related to the case, that he
would file a fresh application,
following the setting aside of
the orders of the Metropolitan
Magistrate by the Delhi High
Court. Anyway, Gandhis are
boldly facing the court and its
proceedings. Motilal Nehru
and Jawaharlal Nehru gave
their life, profession and
properties for the benefit of
this country and their ‘so
called’ descendants are only
interested in self-aggrand-
izement. Further disruption in
Parliament seems likely as
the senior Congress
leadership decided to stick to
its aggressive stance against
the ruling BJP for the
upcoming week. Sonia
Gandhi felt that the party
wasn’t getting a fair space in
media to explain its viewpoint
on the National Herald
controversy.
Swamy to have last laugh in National Herald case?
In a landmark judgement, the Bombay High Court allowed
women to enter inside the inner sanctum of the Haji Ali
Dargah. Earlier, an NGO filed a PIL in November 2014 against
the diktat by the trust and urged the court to step in and over-
throw the trust’s ruling. After a wait of more than six months,
the Bombay High Court finally gave a judgement in the Haji Ali
Dargah matter. The Bench is also following the status of a PIL
in the Supreme Court on the 1,500-year-old historic Sabrimala
Ayyappa Temple in Kerala, which has also banned the entry of
women.
The Bombay High Court recently asked the Maharashtra gov-
ernment to ensure that women are not denied entry to any reli-
gious place, and court apply the same principle when it comes
to Dargah. Yes, this is a good verdict. In most of the Dargahs
ladies are allowed. Women are equally important in a society
and in every family irrespective of their faith. The discrimina-
tion on gender basis is to be removed at all places of worship.
This refinement has no place in any religion, cult or creed and
certainly not in secular India.
Moreover, Dargahs are becoming a money making enterprise
just like temples. Practice of idol worship is against Islam,
Muslims visiting Dargahs is sheer ignorance and shunning of
Allah according to some sects in Islam. There is absolutely no
recommendation unnecessary nor is the dead going to hear
our prayers. Whatever you get it is only from Allah because he
can give it to you. If according to that sects, when Dargah’s are
unislamic as they are places where dead saints are revered
and worshiped, then you shouldn’t be having any problem in
allowing women.

The birthday of Lord
Krishna, better known as
Janmashtami is celebrated
with great gusto across the
country. Every year, peo-
ple gather to recite the tale
of Krishna – the eighth
avatar of Vishnu, sing
songs in his praise and
celebrate Dahi Handi.
Mumbai is in celebration
mode and all geared up for
Dahi Handi event.
Though, refusing to rethink
a ban on taller “Dahi
Handi” human pyramids –
during the Janmashtami
festival in Maharashtra –
the Supreme Court said
“to increase the height is
very scary”. A Mumbai-
based group had asked
the court to reconsider its
own order and raise the
20-feet cap, voicing a
demand that is backed by
almost every political party
in Maharashtra. The peti-
tioner, seeking an urgent
hearing a day before
Janmashtami celebrations,
has argued against the
height restriction saying
the sport is famous and
earned a place in the
Guinness Book of World
Records because of how
tall each human pyramid
can get. The Maharashtra
government had also told
the court that “height is the
charm of the game and
courts can consider
increasing the height to 25
feet. In the annual Dahi
Handi ritual, human pyra-
mids compete to reach for
Dahi Handis or pots filled
with curd that are strung
up high on poles.
Participants call them-
selves “Govindas” – anoth-
er name for Lord Krishna –
and wear colourful cos-
tumes. Last week, the
court banned those below
18 from participating in the
pyramids and limited the
height to 20 feet only. It
confirmed an order by the
Bombay High Court two
years ago, which was
challenged by the
Maharashtra government.

Mumbai: An Indian Navy continues to
probe the extent of threat to its security, a
report suggested that a former French
naval officer may be responsible for the
leak of sensitive data related to Scorpene
submarine.
A report by ‘The Australian’ suggested
that the former French naval officer, in
question, was working as a sub-contractor
for the DCNS – the French company –
and he might be behind the leak of the
sensitive data which were written in
France in 2011. The French firm had ini-
tially suggested the leak might be at the
Indian end, saying it supplies but does not
control access to technical data. The gov-
ernment has asked French shipbuilder
DCNS which designed the six Scorpene
submarines for $3.5 billion for a report on
the leak, which exposes information
including the combat systems of the fleet.
Naval sources said they were confident
that the 22,000 pages reported by The
Australian newspaper on Wednesday
were not provided by sources here and do
not compromise one of the world’s largest
defense projects. On the second point
experts disagree, stating that the informa-
tion that has been released is a huge
problem for India. Following the furore
over the leak of documents related to
Indian’s Scorpene submarine, the
Congress on Wednesday lashed out at
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar for
their ‘myopic’ approach towards the mat-
ter and underplaying the ‘stunning breach
of security’.

Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists have released a horrific
new video that shows five boys, including one said to be
from the UK, aged between 10 to 13 years shooting pris-
oners in Syria.
The boys are seen shooting dead five men identified as
captured Kurdish fighters who are kneeling.
A caption claims the white boy in the video is Abu
Abdullah al-Britani, who is allegedly British.
All the boys are pictured in full military fatigues and a
black hat alongside the four other boys.
Five hostages are shown dressed in familiar orange
jumpsuits seen in previous ISIS propaganda videos, ‘The
Times’ reports.
“No one can save the Kurds even with the support of
America, France, Britain, Germany, the devils in hell,” the
British boy is heard to say in Arabic.
He then calls for the’takbir’- the term referring to the
phrase’Allahu akbar’- which the other boys shout in uni-
son, raising their pistols to the sky before shooting the
hostages dead. The video then pans to gunshot wounds
to the men’s heads as they lie dead in the sand. The four
other boys in the footage are captioned as being
Tunisian, Kurdish, Egyptian and Uzbekistani in origin.

An assassination attempt on German Chancellor Angela
Merkel has reportedly been foiled as Czech police
detained an armed man who tried to join her motorcade
during visit to the capital.
“The perpetrator has been detained,” the Mirror quoted
police spokesman Josef Bocan as saying on Thursday.
“He is suspected of attempting to cause a crime – specif-
ically an attempt to use violence against an official,” he
said.
“The incident is currently being investigated by Prague
detectives.”
Markel, who was in Prague to meet Czech Prime
Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, was travelling from the air-
port to the city when the suspicious Black Mercedes
appeared.
The driver refused to obey orders coming from the police
cars accompanying the German Chancellor.
The suspect tried to enter the motorcade and cut off a
police vehicle that was trying to stop him. He only
stopped and got out of the vehicle after the police
warned of shooting him.
Merkel held talks yesterday with Czech Prime Minister
Bohuslav Sobotka and President Milos Zeman focused
on the future of the European Union after Britain’s June
decision to leave the bloc.

US: The United States and Russia on Friday renewed efforts to
secure a military and humanitarian cooperation agreement for
war-torn Syria as conditions on the ground continued to deteri-

attempts to forge a nationwide truce. US Secretary of State

a partner in Syria as the fighting becomes more volatile and
complicated with the introduction of Turkish ground forces.
Neither Washington nor Moscow has signaled that an agree-

made in one critical battleground: the besieged city of Aleppo,
where the United Nations has been clamoring for a 48-hour
cease-fire so humanitarian aid can be shipped into the city.

A seized conversation, where gang-
ster Chhota Rajan claims to have
accepted responsibility for killing
senior journalist J Dey, forms part of
the evidence against him in the sup-
plementary chargesheet filed by the
CBI. The assumed conversation
took place between Rajan and a rel-
ative of now-deceased accused
Vinod Asrani, less than a month
after Dey was shot by bike-borne
assailants near his Powai residence
on June 2011. The conversation had
also been part of the earlier
chargesheet filed by the Mumbai
Police against journalist Jigna Vora,
another accused in the case. The
CBI, in its present chargesheet, has
claimed that the authenticity of the
intercepted communication has
been verified by the Central
Forensic Science Laboratory. It
states that the conversation proves
Rajan’s involvement as his voice
samples match the intercepts.
The dramatic J. Dey murder case
brought to the fore the nexus more
clearly than other occasions. Having
covered the crime beat for around
three decades, Dey had naturally
developed affiliations in legitimate
as well as illegitimate way in his
working life. Bootleggers, matka-
den operators are regular paymas-
ters of crime reporters residing in
respective areas. Visionless and
routine crime reporters thrive on
their money and retire peacefully.
Dey-like ambitious reporters aim
high and possess heavy appetite.
Their morals become flexible in the
initial period of their career and later
vanish. Switching of loyalties is not a
great affair, when it comes to money.
It may not be as frequent in under-
world as it is in journalism.
The police told the Sessions Court
that journalist Jigna Vora, then an
accused in J Dey murder case, had
fuelled the dispute between gang-
ster Chhota Rajan and the slain jour-
nalist, which likely led to the killing.
Crime Branch, which was investigat-
ing the Dey murder case, claimed
that Vora was aware of the issues
between Rajan and Dey, but
Mumbai police could not produce
any substantial evidences against
Vora and finally she got bail. Since
then, the never ending saga on
Dey’s murder is unfurled in
episodes.
During the investigations, media
made police authorities’ life miser-
able and Home Department was
always on their radar. To control
media pressure, police traced those
reporters who have spoken to
Chhota Rajan or any other under-
world don. Based on their published
interviews and reports, police called
these journalists and asked ques-
tions in the name of investigations.
They were harassed and warned,
and that’s how, the story was twisted
in many angles. Reporters gave
excuses, but police made them
stand, arrested some and asked
them to give explanation in court. In
that series, Jigna became victim of
circumstances and trapped by
police. Police Department was
aware that Jigna is not at fault.
However, she was made scapegoat
to control the nuisance of media.
Surprisingly, when Jigna got arrest-
ed, no media came forward to
protest against her. Rather, J Dey’s
murder investigations news took a
back seat. Now, suddenly J Dey got
news space.
Is Jigna Vora innocent in J. Dey murder case?

Mumbai: She made her acting debut with
Aditya Chopra’s “Mohabbatein” and
starred in several films but actress
Shamita Shetty says her acting abilities
are still unexplored by the film industry.
The 37-year-old actress, who has spent
over a decade in Bollywood, now wants
to work in a fiction TV shows.
“In terms of project I have not signed any-
thing new, but I am looking for some inter-
esting work in television I have been get-
ting some offers. Unfortunately, I have not
been given a chance to explore acting
that much. I hope to do that in near
future. Dancing is fun for me. It keeps me
really happy,” Shamita said.
The actress, who made a comeback with
dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa,”,
is not interested in continuing with the
reality TV.
“‘Jhalak…’ reintroduced me into enter-
tainment business. Right now I am busy
with things related to dancing. But, I think
for now I am done with reality shows and
fiction is something I am looking at. I can’t
do saas-bahu sagas. But TV is also doing
some experimental stuff now and I hope
something nice comes to me,” she
added. Shamita, was present at the col-
lection preview of designer Divya Reddy,
who launched her festive range during
the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week
Winter/Festive 2016.

Auditions Seen Great Response and Success
Mumbai: Actor Sidharth Malhotra,
who started his film career playing a student on screen, was
back to college today to promote his
latest film. Sidharth was the special guest at IIT-Bombay’s Run
For Your Campus event where he encouraged youngsters to
develop interest in fitness.
“I think it is a great initiative to get all of you out here in the
rains. I am really excited to be here. I think fitness is extreme-
ly important… You should workout, run in
the monsoons, dance with your girl, make them
dance…,” Sidharth said at the event.
The 31-year-old actor danced on stage with the winners of a
marathon and also taught them a few trademark steps of the
track from his upcoming film.
Directed by Nitya Mehra, “Baar Baar
Dekho” also stars Katrina Kaif and is
scheduled to release on September 9.

Mumbai: Director Shoojit Sircar says he would like to
work with the Khans –Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman —
if something interesting comes across as he feels hey
are hungry to do content-driven films.
In his over a decade-old career, Shoojit has worked with
some of the big names like megastar Amitabh Bachchan,
Deepika Padukone, while he has gotten out the best
from actors like Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam
in “Vicky Donor”, and John Abraham in “Madras Cafe”.
“If something comes up with them (Shah Rukh, Salman
and Aamir) then we will work together. As of now there is
nothing that I have with me for them. If we have a film we
will go to them. They are hungry to do different kind of
roles,” said Shoojit, when asked if he would like to collab-
orate with the three Khans.
Notably, the Khan trio have been experimenting with
their work with upcoming films like “Raaes”, “Tubelight”
and “Dangal”.
According to the “Piku” Helmer, the Khans haven’t
approached him with a film, nor has he.
Khans of Bollywood hungry to do different roles
Film: “A Flying Jatt”
Director: Remo d’Souza
Cast: Tiger Shroff, Nathan
Jones, Amrita Singh,
Jacqueline Fernandez,
K.K. Menon
Rating: 3 Stars (3 / 5)
It isn’t a bird. It isn’t a plane.
And it’s definitely not
Superman. Why must the
desi superhero behave like a
country cousin of his
Hollywood counterpart?
Remo d’Souza, who makes
indigenous films based on
western concepts such as
the dance-competition genre
which he made into “ABCD”
(it was actually ‘Ka Kha Ga
Gha’), here turns the super-
hero genre on its head. And
he has a ball coiling twisting
twirling Tiger Shroff – we all
know how mouldable he is –
in a ball of helpless heroism.
Tiger is the light of this light-
hearted take on super-hero-
ism.
The young dancer-fighter
can take a joke on himself
even if it shows him to be
less than heroic. There is a
whole chunk of satirical
heroism in the narrative
where Aman/Flying Jatt
goes out into the night to
save the world and comes
home red-faced and humili-
ated to his bullying mom
(Amrita Singh, doing a
Kirron Kher) and a giggling
brother (Gaurav Pandey,
excellent). “Dead Pool”
thereby drowns in its own
laughter. And no one is seri-
ously hurt by K.K. Menon’s
over-the-top villainy, even
when Tiger’s adversary is an
imposing monster of a man
– Raka (Nathan Jones)
imported from the West but
beaten to a pulp before the
show is over. What works
wonderfully in the narrative’s
favour is the mood of defiant
desiness.

years. The total storage
capacity of these 91 reser-
voirs is 157.799 BCM
which is about 62% of the
total storage capacity of
253.388 BCM which is esti-
mated to have been creat-
ed in the country. 37
Reservoirs out of these 91
have hydropower benefit
with installed capacity of
more than 60 MW.
Northern Region
The northern region
includes States of
Himachal Pradesh, Punjab
and Rajasthan. There are
6 reservoirs under Central
Water Commission (CWC)
monitoring having total live
storage capacity of 18.01
BCM. The total live storage
available in these reser-
voirs is 12.97 BCM which
is 72% of total live storage
capacity of these reser-
voirs. The storage during
corresponding period of
last year was 91% and
average storage of last ten
years during correspon-
ding period was 75% of
live storage capacity of
these reservoirs. Thus,
storage during current year
is less than the correspon-
ding period of last year and
is also less than the aver-
age storage of last ten
years during the corre-
sponding period.
Eastern Region
The Eastern region
includes States of
Jharkhand, Odisha, West
Bengal and Tripura. There
are 15 reservoirs under
CWC monitoring having
total live storage capacity
of 18.83 BCM. The total
live storage available in
these reservoirs is 11.80
BCM which is 63% of total
live storage capacity of
these reservoirs.
