2. What is a long-form post on LinkedIn?
“Blog” posts that appear on your
personal LinkedIn profile.
It’s shared with your connections
and followers.
Members not in your network can
follow your long-form posts.
Long form post is searchable on
and off LinkedIn (ie, Google).
3. How to create a long form post on LinkedIn
1. Toward the top of your
homepage, click Publish a
post.
This takes you to the
publishing tool.
4. 2. Write your long-form post.
Add your content in the space
provided.
Use the WYSIWYG editor to add
formatting, headlines, bold, italics,
links, etc.
• To hyperlink text: Type the text,
highlight it, click the link icon and
insert URL. Click submit
• To include visuals in the body of
your post: click on the image icon.
• To embed a video, click on the
triangle video icon. You can add
embed code from YouTube, Vimeo,
Slideshare, etc.

5. 3. Click the Publish button
Located top right next to save
Your content will be published right
away. There is no preview button
because what you are creating is how it
will look when its published.
You'll be asked to confirm that you want
to publish your post. Click Yes, publish
it or No, not yet to return to the writing
experience.
6. Share the post
You can share the post from
the reading view once it's
published. The icons to do
so on LinkedIn, Facebook,
Google+, and Twitter are
located both at the top and
bottom of the post.
7. A few notes:
• Long-form publishing is not available in all geographic locations at this time. You’ll
see a Publish a post button on your homepage when you have access to publish on
LinkedIn.
• At this time, companies can't publish long-form posts using their organization's name
or publish from their Company Page. However, members can use the publishing
platform to communicate their organization's story. Our LinkedIn Corporate Publishing

• Access to publishing is not determined or affected by your LinkedIn account type -
both free accounts and premium accounts have publishing access.
