The role of a math coach:
       Collaborative colleague
       Experiences are initiated by teacher and direction of
       interaction structured by the teacher
       Focus is on student learning
       A team member to:
           o help plan lessons or units units
           o assist with technology
           o help with manipulatives
           o model or co-teach lessons
           o collect data for professional development
           o assist with the transfer of theory into practice
           o research, collaborate and discuss assessment and evaluation

Benefits of engaging with a math coach:
               Provides an opportunity for professional dialogue, sharing of experiences
               Fosters professional habits of mind (West and Staub, 2003)
