3. My students will understand the significance of classic
literature relating to media, young adult literature, and their
own social experiences after reading William Shakespeare’s
“Othello”. At the end of the week period my students will give
a media presentation using tools displayed on the first day of
class to perform their Othello Project.
OBJECTIVE
4. LESSON BREAKDOWN
Day 1- Read ActI-II Scene 3
-classroom discussion, groups optional, media workshops: PowerPoint, digital imaging, social
media.
Day 2- Complete Acts II, III, IV
-students should already be thinking about project ideas, taking notes from discussions.
Day 3- Finish Othello Acts IV & V
-The third day the students will utilize their class time to finish reading, working on their projects, or
collaborating with their groups.
5. CONTINUED
Day 4- Othello Project Preparation
-Any questions the students have about their work will be asked today. We
will also be going over the technology required for their project again if
anyone needs help.
Day 5- Presentation Day
-The final day is dedicated to the students presenting their work.
