Biological Approach To Abnormal Psychology
Psychology, as a field, works to understand the complex inner workings of the mind, and to make
sense of why people behave the way they do. The use of psychology helps individuals gain a stronger
comprehension of themselves and others. Abnormal psychology is a sect that puts a specific focus on
individuals who exhibit rare behavior. The study of abnormal psychology examines why people
exhibit such behavior by using specific models as a base for understanding.
Abnormal psychology is the study of individuals who are abnormal in relation to other members of
society. Abnormal behavior can be determined using statistics; this means that someone who exhibits
behavior that is statistically rare, would be considered to be exhibiting abnormal behavior. ... Show

This approach examines the underlying causes, which include: genetics, physical illnesses, chemical
imbalances, and infections (Cherry, 2017). An example of an abnormal behavior that is caused by
biological factors is schizophrenia; elevated levels of dopamine create the symptoms associated with
schizophrenia (McLeod, 2014).
The behavioral approach, on the other hand, understand abnormal behavior through the observation of
life circumstances and experiences. According to the behavioral approach, since all behavior is learned
it can also be unlearned. An example of a learned behavior is phobias which typically develop as a
result of exposure in the past to something that caused anxiety or fear (McLeod, 2014). This approach
aims to change abnormal behavior through use of strategies like classical and operant conditioning
(Cherry, 2017).
The cognitive approach focuses on how thoughts, perceptions, and reasoning influence abnormal
behavior (Cherry, 2017). As opposed to the behavioral approach, the cognitive approach suggests that
abnormalities arise as a result of the way one perceives events, rather than the events themselves. The
goal of the cognitive approach is to change actual thought processes and cognitions in order to
overcome abnormalities (McLeod,

Total Recall, The Hunge
Dystopia is an imagined futuristic, place or state where everything is undesirable or dreadful, typically
under dictatorial control or an environmentally downtrodden one. Current norms, trends or political
systems in today s world are criticized in this type of literature. Social characteristics, types of control,
and the dystopian protagonist are three key elements in dystopian stories. In order to acquire why an
author would want to write a dystopian story, as readers, we must try to understand, why writing a
utopian story would be an unexceptional form of literature, to any respected author, because just
thinking about reading about a perfect world without any conflict what so ever, would bore a daily
reader to death. Furthermore, stories like Total Recall, The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sometime after the end of the Third World War, Neo Tokyo city was built in Tokyo Bay, on an

disintegrating one. Getting back to the point, some examples of social issues in dystopian stories
would be, worshipped figureheads, propaganda, population surveillance, and the presentiment phobia

Essay On Graphic Design
Graphic Design is a form of visual communication where one uses images, shapes, colors, and text to
convey ideas and concepts. The field of graphic design encompasses many different sub sections
including web design and printmaking, however, the field of graphic design is not very heavy on
professional writing. Instead graphic design utilizes images to convey messages and concepts.
Throughout this essay I will explore the formatting styles, genres and uses of writing, and how writing
and rhetorical skills are translated into design skills. Formatting styles such as MLA, APA, and IEEE
can be defining aspects of many different professions and careers, however they are not imperative
within the field of graphic design. After conducting an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main genres of writing within the field include proposal writing and technical writing. Many
articles I have found use specific terms associated with the field of Graphic Design. For example, the
article Primary Design Elements Found in Outstanding Digital Illustrations, by a designer called
LoungeKat, outlines and explains various elements of design such as negative space, implied texture,
and monochromatic uses of color. Articles such as this one are mainly written to help designers
improve their technique and develop a better understanding of how to create meaningful designs.
Within this specific genre of technical writing, designers require an understanding of ethos because
their audience need to feel that they are a credible source in the graphic design field. Specifically,
within LoungeKat s article, technical terminology is utilized to develop that ethos as well as specific
examples. However, a majority of the article utilizes simple language rather than advanced language.
Many articles about graphic design maintain that sense of simplicity in their writing as well. I assume
this is because the field is not heavy on writing or research and instead it focuses on art and visual
designs so there is no need to use such a formal or advanced way of writing. In addition, credible
sources such as peer journals are very important in many fields of work because they can be trusted to
provide reliable information. During the interview I also asked

Our research topic is stress and life satisfaction and academic performance. With this research topic,
our group hopes to find out certain pressing matters that affect the daily livelihood of University
students. In general, our research findings will try to answer these questions through the use of
descriptive statistics. To make this finding valid, we are using quota sampling and convenience
sampling methods to collect the data from the samples. The samples we choose is the undergraduate
psychology students.
We will review and rehearse certain journals that correspond with our topic at hand. From our lateral
understanding of these topics, we intend to draw inspiration and formalities of academic from the ...

measure undergraduate student s life satisfaction and were measured using a 5 point Likert scale,
ranging from 1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree with a high overall reliability of 0.78 in this
study. Students were asked to state their degree of satisfaction with several aspects of life including
educational experience, academic performance, friendships, health and living environment. Results
show that there was a significant negative correlation between the two variables with higher levels of
perceived stress associated with lower levels of satisfaction with life (Alleyne Greenidge, 2010)
Next, the study conducted by Kamarudin Rafidah, Aris Azizah, Mohd Daud Norzaidi, Siong Choy

Taking a Look at International Migration
Over the past number of decades, international migration has caused a significant shift in the
distribution of the world s population, leading to great concern for many countries around the globe
(McKeown, 2004: 159). Migration is often seen as a way to deal with bad political institutions,
conflicts or a chance to boost economic opportunities. While a person s decision to migrate is
normally recognised as an entirely individual choice and the possibility for a person to improve their
quality of life, in some cases an individual does not always get a choice in migrating (Drabo and
Mbaye, 2011: 2). Environmental change has always been linked to global migration flows and can
result in large population movement across the world (International Organization for Migration,
2008). According to the European Commission (2013: 3), there is growing evidence to show that
climate change, climate induced events and environmental disruptions are likely to assume greater
importance in influencing migration, especially in developing countries. Throughout history, climate
change has created mass movements of population and the natural environment is probably the oldest
determinant of migration and population displacement. It is predicted that by the half century, 200
million people could be permanent or temporary environmental migrants within their own countries or
overseas (Drabo and Mbaye, 2011: 2). These large figures tend to dominate the current debate on the
relationship between the

Television Show Keeping Up With The Kardashians
The Kardashians are known for their hit reality TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians. The show
features a family that deals with what they consider as everyday problems and lead ostensibly normal
lives, hence the name Reality TV. The family gained its fame originally when Robert Kardashian
defended O.J. Simpson in court in 1995. O.J. Simpson was accused of murdering his wife, Nicole
Brown Simpson, and her ex boyfriend, Ronald Goldman (Linder). Many politicians have started out
their careers as lawyers, and sometimes become famous because they either defended or prosecuted
important cases. Julius Caesar also gained his fame in the court system. Caesar was prosecuting two
men that were followers of Sulla, who was an influential leader. This is not the only connection that
can be distinguished between the Kardashians and Julius Caesar. Kim Kardashian, although she was
already well known at the time, increased her fame even more by marrying Kanye West in May of
2014 (Stephens). Julius Caesar, similarly, married Cornelia, who was the daughter of a noble. This
helped him to gain fame and support in the political world of Rome. Another similarity between
Caesar and the Kardashians is their ability to self advertise. Kim Kardashian has always been known
for her ability to get the attention of the public through social media. Whether it be because of a
scandalous photo, or an outrageous rumor that she wants to expose as untrue, she always manages to
advertise something about

Essay on causes of french revoultionary war
The causes of the French Revolution, the uprising which brought the regime of King Louis XVI to an
end, were manifold. France in 1789 was one of the richest and most powerful nations in Europe; only
in Great Britain and the Netherlands did the common people have more freedom and less chance of
arbitrary punishment. Nevertheless, the ancien régime was brought down, partly by its own rigidity in
the face of a changing world, partly by the ambitions of a rising bourgeoisie, allied with aggrieved
peasants and wage earners and with individuals of all classes who were influenced by the ideas of the
Enlightenment. As the revolution proceeded and as power devolved from the monarchy to legislative
bodies, the conflicting interests of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The proletariat and the non bourgeois strata of the middle class had either not yet evolved interests
which were different from those of the bourgeoisie or they did not yet constitute independent classes
or class divisions. Therefore, where they opposed the bourgeoisie, as they did in France in 1793 and
1794, [that is to say, during the Reign of Terror] they fought only for the attainment of the aims of the
bourgeoisie, albeit in a non bourgeois manner. The entire French terrorism was just a plebeian way of
dealing with the enemies of the bourgeoisie: absolutism, feudalism and philistinism. [1]

Since 1614, the French monarchy had operated without resort to a legislature. Kings had managed
their fiscal affairs by increasing the burden of the ancient and unequal system of taxes, by borrowing
money, and sometimes by selling noble titles and other privileges; however, because noble titles
exempted the holder from future taxes, the purchasers of titles were effectively buying an annuity.
This led to the long running fiscal crisis of the French government. On the eve of the revolution,
France was deeply indebted, so deeply as to be effectively bankrupt. Extravagant expenditures by

Methods: Two sodas containing citric acid were investigated in this experiment. Each soda was
titrated using one of the two experimental methods. These methods are the traditional titration and the
modern titration. Carbonic acid was already removed from the soda by boiling it. Both of the two
different titration methods use the same basic set up. Firstly, the buret must be cleaned thoroughly
with tap water. While cleaning the buret, it is also checked to make sure there are no leaks. The ring

The device stores the entered data and records it on a chart. This process of titration was repeated two
more times for a total of three accurate titrations. The data stored in the device was then transferred to
a computer and saved. The charts and data collected can be found on the last page. The volume of
NaOH used to reach the equivalence point was calculated for each of the three titrations. The
equivalence point was found graphically. Using the volume of NaOH and the molarity of NaOH, the
moles of NaOH were calculated. Using the volume of the soda used, the molarity of citric acid was
found. Then the mean and standard deviation of the molarity of citric acid was calculated.
Results:
In the traditional titration, the recorded data is shown in the following chart:
Table 1: | Volume of soda | Volume of NaOH | RatioNaOH:soda | MolesNaOH | MolesCitric acid |
MolarityCitric acid | Titration1 | 40.00mL | 19.00mL | .475 | 8.85* 10^ 4 | 2.95* 10^ 4 | 7.375*10^ 3 |

incorporates the law of perspective to give the illusion of three dimensions within a two dimensional

RELAY NETWORK OPTIMAL DESIGN OF DISTRIBUTED CONCATENATED ALAMOUTI

Yuchen Cao
Professor: Yanwu Ding
Department of EECS, Wichita State University, KS, US
ABSTRACT
In this project, Based on uniquely factorable constellation pair (UFCP) and space time block code
(STBC), a novel distributed concatenated Alamouti code is devised for a one way relaying network
consisting of two end nodes with each having a single antenna and one relay node equipped with two
antennas. Allowing the terminal nodes and the relay node to transmit their own information
concurrently at the bit level, and turns the equivalent channel between the two end nodes into a
product of two Alamouti channels. thus, called UFCP concatenated Alamouti space time ... Show

However, the relay nodes in currently available relay networks with distributed STBCs just passively
forward whatever they have received from the source node to the destination without being able to
transmit their own information. The conventional strategy to realize information sharing is
accomplished by allocating orthogonal sub channels to relay such as time slots or frequency bands,
operating virtually at a packet level. This leads to significant delay. Despite the fact that this method
may work well for some networks with long coherence time, it will not be applicable to a certain of
strictly constrained delay systems. Motivated by all the aforementioned facts, in this paper, we
consider a one way relaying network consisting of two single antenna terminals and one relay having
two antennas. Our main objective is to design a new distributed STBC for the network that allows the
source node and relay node to transmit information simultaneously at the bit level. The primary idea
of achieving this goal is to properly make use of the recently developed concept of UFCP and the
Alamouti coding scheme at the relay node. The significant advantage of this novel code design is the
optimal ML detector is equivalent to a bit by bit detector.

Bhagavad Gita Reincarnation Essay
The duration of life in a material reality may be very long, but all living bodies in the material world
are eventually subject to a thing of the past and have to again develop other bodies. This idea of one
life coming after another, continuing an endless cycle of life; allows death to never exist. In the epic
Bhagavad Gita by the scribe Veda Vyasa, the theme of reincarnation is portrayed by Lord Krishna,
telling a young warrior named Arjuna, to not dwell on the physical nature of this world because it can
all be born again.
In the Hindu religion, karma exists, which means whatever acts have been acted upon and whatever
thoughts have been though having created an impression on the physical nature of the world and in the
infinite universe. Arjuna is in the midst of charging to battle towards his cousins over the inheritance
of the kingdom. The cousins exiled them, but with a vow that Arjuna and his brothers could reclaim
the throne under certain conditions. Arjuna complied with the circumstances and completed them. In
court, the cousin King violates his vow and brings about an unforgivable deed, ending in war. Now on
the battlefield, Arjuna sees all of his loved ones on the opposite side of the void between two warring
parties. At the sight of those who raised Arjuna to be a man stand to oppose him, I am unstrung, my
limbs collapse/beneath me, and my mouth is dry/there is a trembling in my body (The Bhagavad Gita

Issue Paper: Computer Aided Mammograms and Trans Atlantic Data Transfer Privacy
Garrett Gutierrez CSE 485: Capstone I #80015 12:00 PM 1:15 PM
Introduction:
As new technologies emerge, they cause new and surprising impacts on the world, which shape how
people experience life. Yet, these advancements in computing and engineering may have some
negative consequences. Thus, they become controversial issues. Two recent issues in the computing
and engineering field are the effectiveness of computer aided mammograms in the
United States and Facebook data being used for mass surveillance on European denizens. These issues
affect the areas of national healthcare and global privacy, respectively. Not only do these topics have
current ramifications, they also have potential long term consequences that will need to be addressed.
Thus, current leaders are taking actions to address each of these issues in order to resolve them or
mitigate their adverse effects. This paper will identify each issue, its source, the current and future
impact of the respective issue, and how current leaders are addressing the issues based on the facts
provided by the credible news sources.
Issue 1 and Source:
On the national level, a contemporary issue involving computing that has arisen is the use of computer
aided mammograms in the U.S. for women s healthcare. The issue is that recent studies have shown
that computer aided mammograms are not effective at detecting more instances of breast cancer or

common ground and helped connect them to form an alliance. Mori was not a Christian clan, so this
strong alliance that surrounded their borders was an immediate threat to the safety of their clan and
their goal of becoming shogun. Despite this alliance being an obvious threat, it took Mori several turns
to realize just how powerful this neighboring alliance of Chosokabe, Miyushi, Amako, and Kono was
growing. The challenging dilemma that Mori faced was to convert to Christianity, which was not their
true religion, or to not convert and face possible destruction of their clan. Mori was not comfortable
converting to Christianity largely because the Pope had decided he would charge their clan 2,000 gold
per turn to convert to apologize for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clans within the alliance of Chosokabe, Miyushi, Amako, and Kono did not convert to
Christianity for religious reasons, but rather to reap the benefits of strong trading alliances with the
Europeans. For example, Chosokabe converted to Christianity to receive gunpowder as well as
reinforcements during this war for Japan. Even clans outside of this alliance in Japan were doing the
same thing that Chosokabe was doing. An example of this would be the clan of Otomo receiving guns
from Portugal for their conversion to Christianity. Mori s refusal to not convert to Christianity was
clearly holding them back economically and militarily. Mori s entrance into the alliance that
surrounded them clearly helped them out somewhat economically but they were not receiving the full
benefits that the other Christian clans in the alliance were gaining. This was not a good look for Mori
within this alliance and would undoubtedly make them the first odd clan out if conflict were to

My Experience At A University Level
This course has become a journey for me. It has been one of my first classes at a university level. I
have learned many valuable skills and lessons. I know they will be of great use to me in my further
years at college, and in life. First, I learned that if I follow instructions and meet the criteria that is
expected of me I can do very well. Secondly, I had the opportunity to learn how to develop a resume
for college and work use. Having a resume that is up to standards and knowing what I need to modify,
in the years to come, is extremely helpful when I am trying to obtain an occupation. Additionally, I
also obtained the knowledge and skills on how to conduct research. Learning how to use the OSU
library website to be able to find academic databases has been extremely helpful. I have learned how
to access the databases and be able to search and obtain what I need. Even though, my other classes
have not required me to conduct research, I may have to conduct research in the years to come.
Knowing how to navigate the website and conduct my research will make it easier. I am very pleased
with myself that I chose to do the extra credit that was offered. I knew that many professors did not
offer the opportunity to gain extra credit. When I heard how many opportunities and points that I
could potentially obtained I knew I had to try. Which, I am glad I did. The extra credit helped
tremendously. Seeing the results reflect on my grade made me realize that I was on the right track.

Mississippi Vs Secession
In my initial post, I also discussed the economic factor for the Southern States seceding from the
Union; however, the Mississippi Declaration of Secession says two main factors for the state decision
of seceding from the Union than the economic factor. Historians do not use a small piece of evidence
to decide what happened, they gather facts to reconstruct the events that have to transpire, and the
same should be done when analyzing a primary document. On the Mississippi Declaration of
Secession also states, It has given indubitable evidence of its design to ruin our agriculture, to
prostrate our industrial pursuits and to destroy our social system. It knows no relenting or hesitation in
its purposes; it stops not in its march of aggression

Research Paper On Marcel Duchamp
I. Marcel Duchamp (1887 1968):
Marcel Duchamp (hereinafter referred to as Duchamp ), was a 20th century French artist. He is
considered to be of the era in which Art and particularly Paintings were influenced by elements such
as constant change, transition, fluidity, movement and distance etc. He s considered as a pioneer of
DADA , a movement that questioned the deep rooted assumptions about what art should be and how it
should be made . He himself was intrigued by the concept of a fourth dimension. He wasn t just a
painter but also a sculptor and writer. He always saw art as evolving and creating new things.
Duchamp reproduced Mona Lisa in 1919 as just a spoof, but it shocked the people of that time and its

The New Pitching Strategy From Napkin
Blog The New Pitching Strategy from Napkin to Mixpanel Like many people, I love whimsy, and the
notion that a multibillion startup idea could be scribbled on the back of a bar napkin has extraordinary
appeal. In fact, napkin ideas are part of the evolution of pitching startup companies. I find the napkin a
better starting point than cave drawings of the wheel or pictographs showing how to herd buffalo over

Nefertiti Research Paper
For over a decade Nefertiti, wife of the Pharaoh Akhenaten originally known as Amenhotep IV, was an
influential woman in the Bronze Age. Her image and name were renowned throughout Upper and
Lower Egypt. Suddenly, after the end of the reign of Akhenaten, Nefertiti disappeared from the royal
family, vanishing so completely that it was as if she had never been. No known record survives to
detail her death; no found monument serves to represent the mourning of her death. To this day her
expiration remains a conundrum.
She was the beloved wife of heretic king Akhenaten, who defied customs by practicing monotheism
and by elevating Nefertiti far above the role of subservient consort. Her image has enraptured viewers
ever since a limestone bust unearthed in modern day Amarna went on display in Berlin in 1924. But
few facts are proven about this woman. As Akhenaten dismissed the plethora of old gods, distressing
many of his subjects, he had a strong female figure in Nefertiti to ease the supernatural rigorousness of

Reflective Writing on Team Work Essay
A Reflective Paper On The Importance On Teamwork Nursing Essay What is a team work? Team
work can be defined as when actions of individuals are brought together for the purpose of a common
goal. Each person in a team puts his efforts to achieve the objectives of large group. Teams make
efforts to achieve the success but not necessarily the success is achieved every time. Within a team

novel through the characters. The first quote shows Magda s awkward, broken English, and the second
quote shows Gemma s fairytale. Through the language of a text, readers are able to get the different
ideas about the people s backgrounds and who they are. Irony is often used in Briar Rose, especially
with Josef. Josef represents the prince because he saves Gemma s life during the Holocaust. The
stereotypical view of princes in fairytales is that they rescue the female, and they kiss and live happily
ever after. That was never going to be the case with Gemma and Josef because Josef is a homosexual,
and he was in love with Aron, Gemma s husband. Briar Rose is an allegory for the Holocaust. The
harsh details of her survival are hidden in the magical fairytale, and it softens the impact of reality for

The Conflict Between Dinamo Zagreb And Red Star
Yugoslavia in the 20th century underwent great political turmoil, unrest, war, and ethnic conflicts.
Throughout the existence of this unstable nation, soccer was the most popular sport with the most
devout supporters. The sport and its various teams held strong ties to the political structure of
Yugoslavia, being run and controlled often by government institutions. It is for this reason that soccer
in Yugoslavia can serve as a political barometer to understand the underlying concerns, ideologies, and
conflicts that occurred in the country in the 20th century. Not does the sport mimic the political history
of the nation, it was often tied directly to political parties and ideologies. This essay will look into the
inception, rise, and eventual demise of Yugoslavia through the perspective of soccer and its role in all
of it. In particular, the focus will be on the most popular teams in present day Serbia, Red Star
Belgrade and FK Partizan and their rivalry, as well as the role of the Bosnian club Velez. Furthermore,
the clash between Dinamo Zagreb and Red Star will be shown as a catalyst for the following war of
independence. Some contrast to the division and antagonism will be shown by looking closely at the
Yugoslav national team following World War II.
Initially one must look to politically charged club teams in Yugoslavia, such as Red Star Belgrade and
FK Partizan. The history of these teams and their formation is important to consider. At the end of
World War II, most

Porter s Five Forces In Automobile Industry
3.2 External Environment Analysis Industry Analysis (Porter s Five Forces Analysis)
Porter s Five Forces Framework Model analyses the competitive forces within the environment in
which a company operates, to assess the potential for profitability in an industry. Porter consists of
threat of new entrants, threat of substitute, buyer power, supplier power, and rivalry among existing
competitors. The change in any forces normally requires firms to observe the market and make the
decision in overall change of industry information. Firms are able to apply their core competencies,
business model or network to achieve a profit above the industry average.
Threat of New Entrants
Profitable industries that yield high returns will attract new firms. New competitors may force existing
firms to be more efficient and to learn how to compete on new dimensions. Threat of new entrants is
high when it is easy for new competitors to enter a market ad low when there are significant entry
barriers to entering a market. These entry barriers make it difficult for new firms to enter an industry
and often place them at a competitive disadvantage even when they are able to enter. The domestic

Uncertainty In Physics
Lab # 1: Measurements and Uncertainty in Physics Experiments 1 4 Dylan Adams Date: June 22,
2016 Abstract: Experiments 1 4 focused on using different types of measuring tools, and the
uncertainty that goes on while using these tools. The lab focused on rulers, calipers, spring scales, and
stopwatches. Each different type of measurement was analyzed for precision, accuracy, and
uncertainty. Students learned how to calculate measurements on a Vernier caliper, by using the least
half count. Students also learned the formula that was used to obtain the measurement from a caliper:
Lower tick mark value of major scale reading plus the number of least count spaces on the minor scale
multiplied by the least count of the minor scale. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen in table 1, the caliper was much more accurate than the ruler. This is true because the caliper
is much easier to read, and has less uncertainty than the ruler. The caliper has less uncertainty than the
ruler because it has the ability to measure at a smaller unit than the ruler. The source of error in this
experiment was that the caliper could easily be bent, giving incorrect measurements. In experiment 2
students tested the uncertainty and accuracy of a 5 and 10 N spring scale. As seen in table 2, the 5 N
spring scale had less uncertainty than the 10 N spring scale. Because of this, the 5N spring scale was
more accurate. The only downfall to the 5N spring scale was that it was not large enough to measure
the weight of the modeling clay. In experiment 3, students tested the error and uncertainty of using a
stopwatch. As seen in table 3, using a stopwatch gave a large variety of measurements. Since the time
it took the marble to fall was so small, it was hard to react quick enough to give accurate readings.
Lastly, in experiment 4 students tried to determine the density of the mass set. As seen in table 4,
students used the radius, diameter, and height in order to find the volume. Once they found the volume
they used the weight of 100 grams in order to find the density. The density of the mass set was found
to be 9.03. This value was closest to the density of copper, but the

Literature Review On HIV
Literature review The emergence of drug resistant strains of human immunodeficiency virus( HIV)
and treatment failure can result from non adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART). (Michel
Morin;2000) Non adherences to medication is widespread among patients (Margaret A. Chesney;
2000).An estimated average rate of patient that non adhere to the antiretroviral (ARV) treatment
therapy ranges from about 50 70%( Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) HIV becomes drug resistance when
the ARV treatments are not adhered to. Once the patient has taken their antiretroviral (ARVs)
medication then stops the HIV is able to replicate and will do so at a rapid rate. As a result mutations
are very common (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There can be one or more mutations that might
block the working of the ARVS making them less effected or even completely ineffective. i.e. the
virus will become resistant to any of the drugs and multiply. (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There
are many factors as to why patients do not adhere to their ARV treatment. The main factors for non
adherence would appear to be patient related, this would include patients that are alcohol and
substance abusers. However there are many other reasons, that could contribute, such as inconvenient
dosing frequency, dietary restrictions, pill burden, side effects, area which the patient is located and
patient health care provider relationships; and the system of care (Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) this
factors/reasons mentioned above can be improved by clarifying treatment plans and perhaps be able to
work around the patient schedule or lifestyle also the patient and their loved ones should be educated
in order to understand the risks and for the to create a financial plan. Medical centers/clinics should
also have support groups for the patients and should distribute pamphlets (like the ones that have

Wyatt Earp s Tombtone
Have you ever wondered how accurate the portrayal of Hollywood movies are? Often, Hollywood
takes liberties to enrich the content and to keep viewers entertained. Since Tombstone, by George
Cosmatos and Kevin Jarre is a Hollywood portrayal in need of a dramatic storyline, there are many
historical inaccuracies that plague the film.. At times, the inaccuracies distort the reality and credibility
of the movie but overall the movie is relatively historically accurate. The movie is largely based off of
Stuart N. Lake s Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshal. Written in the 1930s, this book is a largely
fictionalized account of Wyatt Earp s life. Because Lake s book was meant to heroize Wyatt Earp, he
is portrayed that way in Tombstone. Tombstone is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

laws that he implemented was the anti open carry law which prohibited the carry of firearms in public.
He also risked his life in the shootout at the O.K. Corral so he could save the people from danger.
However, Wyatt was nowhere near the law abiding angel he was depicted to be in the movie. Wyatt
had a history of various kinds of theft and crime including but not limited to: horse theft, involvement
in the sex trade and escaping from prison.(Isenberg 46). Wyatt was arrested three times in Peoria
because of his association with the sex trade (Isenberg 46). His less than stellar criminal record forces
us to reconsider the validity of his character portrayal as an entirely good guy. . The movie does not

Wyatt was seen as a preventer of violence, but in reality he had a history of perpetrating it. In a
gunfight fight prior to moving to Tombstone, Arizona, Wyatt was reported as an instigator of violence.
According to one of the participants of the gunfight, he did more to provoke the continuation of the

American History X Incarceration Theory
Introduction American History X is a film that describes the story of a white supremacist, Derek
Vineyard, who learns through his prison experience that his beliefs are erroneous. During his time in
prison, Derek was forced to cohabitate amongst non white individuals, coercing him to reconsider his
prior Neo Nazi principles. After serving his sentence, Derek realizes that he must save his younger
brother from emulating his example. By analyzing the substantial aspects of prison life (preliminary
adjustment to prison life, prison experience, prison subculture and rehabilitation), as demonstrated in
the film, it can be determined that the film American History X can be used as a realistic tool for
creating awareness of the consequences of being incarcerated and the effects that prison can have on

Maladaptive responses such as emotional disorders, self harm and suicide attempts are the most
common during the initial phases of incarceration (Adams, 1992*pg. 275*). Being barred from the
outside world, prisoners develop coping mechanisms that allow them to deal with the pains of
incarceration. According to Thomas and Foster, two theoretical models have emerged in response to
the coping mechanisms demonstrated by inmates. These two models signify the rudimentary
perceptions pertaining to the patterns found in response to incarceration. The first is the importation
model, which uses individual level inmate characteristics that were established prior to imprisonment
to explain prison experience (Power, et al., 1997). On the other hand, the deprivation model suggests
that the environment of prison itself explains the experience prisoners have (Cooley,

insert our individual data to make an account. By inserting our individual data, we are presented to the
numerous dangers of digital burglary. In the event that there are any holes in the database, our
individual data would be misuse by those syndicates.
Not just that, when we need to buy a ticket on the web, we are required to utilize our credit cards. All
our credit card data would be inserted to make the transaction to buy the ticket. On the off chance that
there are any slips or abuse in the system, we would be charged for something else and our credit card
data may be use to make different exchanges. There is no distinct approach to keep this, not one or the
other is there an approach to make individuals completely believe this system.
Though TGV Cinemas takes action against the stealing of information, sometimes the personal details
of the customer are leaked out by their own staff itself. Through bribing the staff member the 3rd
person easily takes information about the customer. This has been a big issue in TGV cinema. TGV
Cinema has code of conduct which should be followed by the managers, lower level staffs etc.
According to the code of conduct the personal information should not be leaked out at any cost but the
staff member break their rules and regulations for the bribe

Blackberry Picking- Seamus Heaney Analysis
Blackberry Picking Seamus Heaney Seamus Heaney is an Irish poet who was born in Mossbawn
farmhouse and spent fourteen years of his childhood there. Many of his poems are based on personal
experience; Mid term Break , for example, was based on the death of his younger brother; and are laid
out in settings akin to those he is familiar to. His poem, Blackberry Picking , is set on a farm and
explores the simple luxury of picking fresh, ripe blackberries, his inspiration quite possibly being his
own childhood. Thematically, the poem explores the idealistic nature of childhood, and the importance
of waking up to reality as one grows older. The beginning of the poem is filled with a vivid passionate
recollection of the seasonal picking of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The line, I always felt like crying. It wasn t fair ties up both, the childish reaction of crying when hit
by the realisation that something good will not last, and the adult resignation to the fact that although
it is never fair, such is life. On a more implicit note, the poem deals with the theme of greed and the
dissatisfaction often involved in attempting to gain an object of desire. The attempt to acquire great
amounts of this object by removing it from its natural setting and hoarding it leads to its destruction
and to the hoarder s disappointment. However, it is also implied that lessons on greed are seldom
learned, Each year I hoped they d keep, knew they would not. Even with the knowledge that his
efforts would be in vain, Heaney writes about how he was compelled to try and store the blackberries
each year, thus bringing out a recurrent greed for the same object. The structure and language of the
poem aid the reader in better understanding and connecting with it. The first part is merely a
recollection that provides information; what time of the year it is, how the blackberries were collected.
There is a lot of enjambment here, and this allows for a free flow of thoughts for the poet, as well as a
better level of connection for the reader. This flow better creates the feelings and emotions of the
poem, and allows the ideas in each line to flow into each other and create one

Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief Essay
Percy Jackson: The Lighting Thief The book Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief is one of the five
books in the Percy Jackson series. The series was written by Rick Riordan. The whole series is based
on Greek mythology. As you can tell by the title, the series is based on a twelve year old boy named
Percy Jackson. I have read the first two books and I will try to finish the series. The book starts out by
describing Percy Jackson and his school. He is a twelve year old boy that lives with his mom and step
father. He is in his sixth grade year and he is not a very good student. He discovers that there is
something wrong with him, he is half human, half god. He is sent to Camp Half Blood so he can be
safe from the monsters that attack half bloods. At camp he figures out that he the son of Poseidon, the
god of the sea. When Zeus s master bolt, his main weapon, is stolen, Poseidon and Percy are to blame.
Percy is given until the summer solstice to retrieve the master bolt and return it to Zeus. Percy believes
that Hades, the god of the underworld, is behind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On their journey the stopped in St. Louis to find shelter. Little did they know that the owner of the
shelter was Medusa. After a fight, the three friends won over the monster. The next stop on their
voyage was a museum in Denver, Colorado. They discovered a pearl that could reveal the last stop on
the voyage to confront Hades and take the master bolt. The pearl led them to a casino in Las Angles.
The workers were giving out strange editable flowers called Lotus Flowers, because the casino s name
was the Lotus Casino and Hotel. The strange food actually messed with people s minds so that they
would stay at the casino forever. The friends fell victim to the flower s spell and was released from the
curse one day before the summer solstice. They found the entrance to the underworld and confronted

Sex Offenders In The Woodsman
In the movie The Woodsman , Walter was imprisoned for 12 years for child molestation. After 12
years imprison, Walter returns back to society. He later experiences different aspect of life. Walter
learned three main insights as a sex offender: society s view, impact of his action, and reflection of his
own self.
Sergeant Lucas represents society s view on sex offenders. The public despises sex offenders more
than other criminals especially children case. Sex offender is not accepted in society even though the
offender already atones for his or her crime in jail. For example, Mike Smith was a sex offender who
served 10 year in jail for abuse in his family. In the report, he could only associate with other sex
offenders such as child sex offender and adult rapist. They were the only people who he can relate to
as not judgmental. On the contrary, he should not be associating with. Smith made an earnest
commitment to his rigorous rehabilitative therapy in prison, but it was made harder when he felt ...

Walter received a journal from his counselor, Rosen. The journal allows Walter to freely express what
is on his mind. Some thoughts Walter could write about are reflection of his emotion and behavior in
any event in his life. Therapist used journaling for the purposes of psychological healing or growth.
(Borkin, 2015) The journal helps Walter to verbalize his problem to other people. In Walter s journal,
he wrote about his observation of Candy. He knows the technique Candy is using to lure children. For
example, Candy uses candy and toys to attract children at school. The main goal is to ask the children
for a ride. If Candy succeed asking the kid for a ride, Candy have full control over the kid. It is part of
the grooming technique. The technique is to manipulate the person in complying with sexual abuse.
Walter underline wants in the journal to represent Candy s

The Controversy of Same Sex Marriages Essay
The Controversy of Same Sex Marriages Imagine you have fallen in love with the person of your
dreams, and the two of you have discussed it and have decided to get married. Now imagine that the
person you wish to marry is of a different race. It wouldn t be a big deal, right? Well, if this situation
had occurred about 50 years ago, it would have been a huge deal. Just a generation ago, many states
banned mixed marriages. Seems absurd, doesn t it? Discriminating against an individual like that
because of the color of their skin? This is a situation in America that I am sure all of you are familiar
with, and most all of us I am sure agree that just because a person has different colored skin does not
make them any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While none of these are reasons to get married, they are all benefits and perks that homosexuals
should not be denied simply because of their choice of a partner. They are rights that homosexuals are
entitled to and deserve, and are rights that they would be able to benefit from if same sex marriages
were legalized. When you put yourself in their shoes, as I have had you do in my past speeches, it is
clear to see that they deserve these rights as much as heterosexual couples do, and that their choice of
partner should not affect these basic rights. I am sure you are all still asking yourselves just how YOU
can make a difference. Well, you could become active in a gay rights group, you could organize a rally
in Red Square, you could even collect signatures and attempt to gain enough support to put the issue
on the ballot for the next elections. But let s be realistic here. We are all students, and are busy with
the stress of finals and even graduation for some. The minute that school ends, all we are going to be
thinking about is laying out in the sun, taking advantage of three months (or even the rest of your
lives) without homework. So who has the time or energy to do any of the things I just suggested? That
is why I am just going to ask

  • 2. Biological Approach To Abnormal Psychology Psychology, as a field, works to understand the complex inner workings of the mind, and to make sense of why people behave the way they do. The use of psychology helps individuals gain a stronger comprehension of themselves and others. Abnormal psychology is a sect that puts a specific focus on individuals who exhibit rare behavior. The study of abnormal psychology examines why people exhibit such behavior by using specific models as a base for understanding. Abnormal psychology is the study of individuals who are abnormal in relation to other members of society. Abnormal behavior can be determined using statistics; this means that someone who exhibits behavior that is statistically rare, would be considered to be exhibiting abnormal behavior. ... An example of an abnormal behavior that is caused by biological factors is schizophrenia; elevated levels of dopamine create the symptoms associated with schizophrenia (McLeod, 2014). The behavioral approach, on the other hand, understand abnormal behavior through the observation of life circumstances and experiences. According to the behavioral approach, since all behavior is learned it can also be unlearned. An example of a learned behavior is phobias which typically develop as a result of exposure in the past to something that caused anxiety or fear (McLeod, 2014). This approach aims to change abnormal behavior through use of strategies like classical and operant conditioning (Cherry, 2017). The cognitive approach focuses on how thoughts, perceptions, and reasoning influence abnormal behavior (Cherry, 2017). As opposed to the behavioral approach, the cognitive approach suggests that abnormalities arise as a result of the way one perceives events, rather than the events themselves. The goal of the cognitive approach is to change actual thought processes and cognitions in order to overcome abnormalities (McLeod, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Total Recall, The Hunge Dystopia is an imagined futuristic, place or state where everything is undesirable or dreadful, typically under dictatorial control or an environmentally downtrodden one. Current norms, trends or political systems in today s world are criticized in this type of literature. Social characteristics, types of control, and the dystopian protagonist are three key elements in dystopian stories. In order to acquire why an author would want to write a dystopian story, as readers, we must try to understand, why writing a utopian story would be an unexceptional form of literature, to any respected author, because just thinking about reading about a perfect world without any conflict what so ever, would bore a daily reader to death. • 4. Essay On Graphic Design Graphic Design is a form of visual communication where one uses images, shapes, colors, and text to convey ideas and concepts. The field of graphic design encompasses many different sub sections including web design and printmaking, however, the field of graphic design is not very heavy on professional writing. Instead graphic design utilizes images to convey messages and concepts. Throughout this essay I will explore the formatting styles, genres and uses of writing, and how writing and rhetorical skills are translated into design skills. Formatting styles such as MLA, APA, and IEEE can be defining aspects of many different professions and careers, however they are not imperative within the field of graphic design. After conducting an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main genres of writing within the field include proposal writing and technical writing. Many articles I have found use specific terms associated with the field of Graphic Design. For example, the article Primary Design Elements Found in Outstanding Digital Illustrations, by a designer called LoungeKat, outlines and explains various elements of design such as negative space, implied texture, and monochromatic uses of color. Articles such as this one are mainly written to help designers improve their technique and develop a better understanding of how to create meaningful designs. Within this specific genre of technical writing, designers require an understanding of ethos because their audience need to feel that they are a credible source in the graphic design field. Specifically, within LoungeKat s article, technical terminology is utilized to develop that ethos as well as specific examples. However, a majority of the article utilizes simple language rather than advanced language. Many articles about graphic design maintain that sense of simplicity in their writing as well. I assume this is because the field is not heavy on writing or research and instead it focuses on art and visual designs so there is no need to use such a formal or advanced way of writing. In addition, credible sources such as peer journals are very important in many fields of work because they can be trusted to provide reliable information. During the interview I also asked ... • 6. Taking a Look at International Migration Over the past number of decades, international migration has caused a significant shift in the distribution of the world s population, leading to great concern for many countries around the globe (McKeown, 2004: 159). Migration is often seen as a way to deal with bad political institutions, conflicts or a chance to boost economic opportunities. While a person s decision to migrate is normally recognised as an entirely individual choice and the possibility for a person to improve their quality of life, in some cases an individual does not always get a choice in migrating (Drabo and Mbaye, 2011: 2). Environmental change has always been linked to global migration flows and can result in large population movement across the world (International Organization for Migration, 2008). According to the European Commission (2013: 3), there is growing evidence to show that climate change, climate induced events and environmental disruptions are likely to assume greater importance in influencing migration, especially in developing countries. Throughout history, climate change has created mass movements of population and the natural environment is probably the oldest determinant of migration and population displacement. It is predicted that by the half century, 200 million people could be permanent or temporary environmental migrants within their own countries or overseas (Drabo and Mbaye, 2011: 2). The show features a family that deals with what they consider as everyday problems and lead ostensibly normal lives, hence the name Reality TV. The family gained its fame originally when Robert Kardashian defended O.J. Simpson in court in 1995. O.J. Simpson was accused of murdering his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her ex boyfriend, Ronald Goldman (Linder). Many politicians have started out their careers as lawyers, and sometimes become famous because they either defended or prosecuted important cases. Julius Caesar also gained his fame in the court system. Caesar was prosecuting two men that were followers of Sulla, who was an influential leader. This is not the only connection that can be distinguished between the Kardashians and Julius Caesar. Kim Kardashian, although she was already well known at the time, increased her fame even more by marrying Kanye West in May of 2014 (Stephens). Julius Caesar, similarly, married Cornelia, who was the daughter of a noble. This helped him to gain fame and support in the political world of Rome. Another similarity between Caesar and the Kardashians is their ability to self advertise. Kim Kardashian has always been known for her ability to get the attention of the public through social media. France in 1789 was one of the richest and most powerful nations in Europe; only in Great Britain and the Netherlands did the common people have more freedom and less chance of arbitrary punishment. Nevertheless, the ancien régime was brought down, partly by its own rigidity in the face of a changing world, partly by the ambitions of a rising bourgeoisie, allied with aggrieved peasants and wage earners and with individuals of all classes who were influenced by the ideas of the Enlightenment. Kings had managed their fiscal affairs by increasing the burden of the ancient and unequal system of taxes, by borrowing money, and sometimes by selling noble titles and other privileges; however, because noble titles exempted the holder from future taxes, the purchasers of titles were effectively buying an annuity. This led to the long running fiscal crisis of the French government. On the eve of the revolution, France was deeply indebted, so deeply as to be effectively bankrupt. RELAY NETWORK OPTIMAL DESIGN OF DISTRIBUTED CONCATENATED ALAMOUTI CODES Yuchen Cao Professor: Yanwu Ding Department of EECS, Wichita State University, KS, US ABSTRACT In this project, Based on uniquely factorable constellation pair (UFCP) and space time block code (STBC), a novel distributed concatenated Alamouti code is devised for a one way relaying network consisting of two end nodes with each having a single antenna and one relay node equipped with two antennas. Allowing the terminal nodes and the relay node to transmit their own information concurrently at the bit level, and turns the equivalent channel between the two end nodes into a product of two Alamouti channels. thus, called UFCP concatenated Alamouti space time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the relay nodes in currently available relay networks with distributed STBCs just passively forward whatever they have received from the source node to the destination without being able to transmit their own information. The conventional strategy to realize information sharing is accomplished by allocating orthogonal sub channels to relay such as time slots or frequency bands, operating virtually at a packet level. This leads to significant delay. Despite the fact that this method may work well for some networks with long coherence time, it will not be applicable to a certain of strictly constrained delay systems. Motivated by all the aforementioned facts, in this paper, we consider a one way relaying network consisting of two single antenna terminals and one relay having two antennas. Our main objective is to design a new distributed STBC for the network that allows the source node and relay node to transmit information simultaneously at the bit level. The primary idea of achieving this goal is to properly make use of the recently developed concept of UFCP and the Alamouti coding scheme at the relay node. The significant advantage of this novel code design is the optimal ML detector is equivalent to a bit by bit detector. 2. This idea of one life coming after another, continuing an endless cycle of life; allows death to never exist. In the epic Bhagavad Gita by the scribe Veda Vyasa, the theme of reincarnation is portrayed by Lord Krishna, telling a young warrior named Arjuna, to not dwell on the physical nature of this world because it can all be born again. In the Hindu religion, karma exists, which means whatever acts have been acted upon and whatever thoughts have been though having created an impression on the physical nature of the world and in the infinite universe. • 22. Mori Alliance Essay During the war that ensued in Japan, the Mori clan faced a tough dilemma. Many of the neighboring clans in the Southern part of Japan converted to Christianity. This conversion gave these clans common ground and helped connect them to form an alliance. Mori was not a Christian clan, so this strong alliance that surrounded their borders was an immediate threat to the safety of their clan and their goal of becoming shogun. Despite this alliance being an obvious threat, it took Mori several turns to realize just how powerful this neighboring alliance of Chosokabe, Miyushi, Amako, and Kono was growing. The challenging dilemma that Mori faced was to convert to Christianity, which was not their true religion, or to not convert and face possible destruction of their clan. Mori was not comfortable converting to Christianity largely because the Pope had decided he would charge their clan 2,000 gold per turn to convert to apologize for ... The clans within the alliance of Chosokabe, Miyushi, Amako, and Kono did not convert to Christianity for religious reasons, but rather to reap the benefits of strong trading alliances with the Europeans. For example, Chosokabe converted to Christianity to receive gunpowder as well as reinforcements during this war for Japan. Even clans outside of this alliance in Japan were doing the same thing that Chosokabe was doing. An example of this would be the clan of Otomo receiving guns from Portugal for their conversion to Christianity. Mori s refusal to not convert to Christianity was clearly holding them back economically and militarily. Mori s entrance into the alliance that surrounded them clearly helped them out somewhat economically but they were not receiving the full benefits that the other Christian clans in the alliance were gaining. This was not a good look for Mori within this alliance and would undoubtedly make them the first odd clan out if conflict were to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. My Experience At A University Level This course has become a journey for me. It has been one of my first classes at a university level. I have learned many valuable skills and lessons. I know they will be of great use to me in my further years at college, and in life. First, I learned that if I follow instructions and meet the criteria that is expected of me I can do very well. Secondly, I had the opportunity to learn how to develop a resume for college and work use. Having a resume that is up to standards and knowing what I need to modify, in the years to come, is extremely helpful when I am trying to obtain an occupation. Additionally, I also obtained the knowledge and skills on how to conduct research. Learning how to use the OSU library website to be able to find academic databases has been extremely helpful. I have learned how to access the databases and be able to search and obtain what I need. Even though, my other classes have not required me to conduct research, I may have to conduct research in the years to come. Knowing how to navigate the website and conduct my research will make it easier. I am very pleased with myself that I chose to do the extra credit that was offered. I knew that many professors did not offer the opportunity to gain extra credit. When I heard how many opportunities and points that I could potentially obtained I knew I had to try. Which, I am glad I did. The extra credit helped tremendously. Seeing the results reflect on my grade made me realize that I was on the right track. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is for this reason that soccer in Yugoslavia can serve as a political barometer to understand the underlying concerns, ideologies, and conflicts that occurred in the country in the 20th century. The lab focused on rulers, calipers, spring scales, and stopwatches. Each different type of measurement was analyzed for precision, accuracy, and uncertainty. Students learned how to calculate measurements on a Vernier caliper, by using the least half count. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As seen in table 1, the caliper was much more accurate than the ruler. This is true because the caliper is much easier to read, and has less uncertainty than the ruler. The caliper has less uncertainty than the ruler because it has the ability to measure at a smaller unit than the ruler. The source of error in this experiment was that the caliper could easily be bent, giving incorrect measurements. In experiment 2 students tested the uncertainty and accuracy of a 5 and 10 N spring scale. As seen in table 2, the 5 N spring scale had less uncertainty than the 10 N spring scale. Because of this, the 5N spring scale was more accurate. The only downfall to the 5N spring scale was that it was not large enough to measure the weight of the modeling clay. In experiment 3, students tested the error and uncertainty of using a stopwatch. As seen in table 3, using a stopwatch gave a large variety of measurements. Since the time it took the marble to fall was so small, it was hard to react quick enough to give accurate readings. Lastly, in experiment 4 students tried to determine the density of the mass set. Literature Review On HIV Literature review The emergence of drug resistant strains of human immunodeficiency virus( HIV) and treatment failure can result from non adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART). (Michel Morin;2000) Non adherences to medication is widespread among patients (Margaret A. Chesney; 2000).An estimated average rate of patient that non adhere to the antiretroviral (ARV) treatment therapy ranges from about 50 70%( Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) HIV becomes drug resistance when the ARV treatments are not adhered to. Once the patient has taken their antiretroviral (ARVs) medication then stops the HIV is able to replicate and will do so at a rapid rate. As a result mutations are very common (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There can be one or more mutations that might block the working of the ARVS making them less effected or even completely ineffective. i.e. the virus will become resistant to any of the drugs and multiply. (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There are many factors as to why patients do not adhere to their ARV treatment. The main factors for non adherence would appear to be patient related, this would include patients that are alcohol and substance abusers. However there are many other reasons, that could contribute, such as inconvenient dosing frequency, dietary restrictions, pill burden, side effects, area which the patient is located and patient health care provider relationships; and the system of care (Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) this factors/reasons mentioned above can be improved by clarifying treatment plans and perhaps be able to work around the patient schedule or lifestyle also the patient and their loved ones should be educated in order to understand the risks and for the to create a financial plan. • 41. Blackberry Picking- Seamus Heaney Analysis Blackberry Picking Seamus Heaney Seamus Heaney is an Irish poet who was born in Mossbawn farmhouse and spent fourteen years of his childhood there. Many of his poems are based on personal experience; Mid term Break , for example, was based on the death of his younger brother; and are laid out in settings akin to those he is familiar to. His poem, Blackberry Picking , is set on a farm and explores the simple luxury of picking fresh, ripe blackberries, his inspiration quite possibly being his own childhood. Thematically, the poem explores the idealistic nature of childhood, and the importance of waking up to reality as one grows older. The beginning of the poem is filled with a vivid passionate recollection of the seasonal picking of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The line, I always felt like crying. It wasn t fair ties up both, the childish reaction of crying when hit by the realisation that something good will not last, and the adult resignation to the fact that although it is never fair, such is life. On a more implicit note, the poem deals with the theme of greed and the dissatisfaction often involved in attempting to gain an object of desire. The attempt to acquire great amounts of this object by removing it from its natural setting and hoarding it leads to its destruction and to the hoarder s disappointment. However, it is also implied that lessons on greed are seldom learned, Each year I hoped they d keep, knew they would not. Even with the knowledge that his efforts would be in vain, Heaney writes about how he was compelled to try and store the blackberries each year, thus bringing out a recurrent greed for the same object. The structure and language of the poem aid the reader in better understanding and connecting with it. The first part is merely a recollection that provides information; what time of the year it is, how the blackberries were collected. There is a lot of enjambment here, and this allows for a free flow of thoughts for the poet, as well as a better level of connection for the reader. This flow better creates the feelings and emotions of the poem, and allows the ideas in each line to flow into each other and create one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He later experiences different aspect of life. Walter learned three main insights as a sex offender: society s view, impact of his action, and reflection of his own self. Sergeant Lucas represents society s view on sex offenders. The public despises sex offenders more than other criminals especially children case. Sex offender is not accepted in society even though the offender already atones for his or her crime in jail. For example, Mike Smith was a sex offender who served 10 year in jail for abuse in his family. • 44. The Controversy of Same Sex Marriages Essay The Controversy of Same Sex Marriages Imagine you have fallen in love with the person of your dreams, and the two of you have discussed it and have decided to get married. Now imagine that the person you wish to marry is of a different race. It wouldn t be a big deal, right? Well, if this situation had occurred about 50 years ago, it would have been a huge deal. Just a generation ago, many states banned mixed marriages. Seems absurd, doesn t it? Discriminating against an individual like that because of the color of their skin? This is a situation in America that I am sure all of you are familiar with, and most all of us I am sure agree that just because a person has different colored skin does not make them any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While none of these are reasons to get married, they are all benefits and perks that homosexuals should not be denied simply because of their choice of a partner. They are rights that homosexuals are entitled to and deserve, and are rights that they would be able to benefit from if same sex marriages were legalized. When you put yourself in their shoes, as I have had you do in my past speeches, it is clear to see that they deserve these rights as much as heterosexual couples do, and that their choice of partner should not affect these basic rights. I am sure you are all still asking yourselves just how YOU can make a difference. Well, you could become active in a gay rights group, you could organize a rally in Red Square, you could even collect signatures and attempt to gain enough support to put the issue on the ballot for the next elections. But let s be realistic here. We are all students, and are busy with the stress of finals and even graduation for some. The minute that school ends, all we are going to be thinking about is laying out in the sun, taking advantage of three months (or even the rest of your lives) without homework. So who has the time or energy to do any of the things I just suggested? That is why I am just going to ask ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
