FPGA Implementation of LDPC Encoder for Terrestrial TelevisionAI Publications
The increasing data rates in digital television networks increase the demands on data capacity of the current transmission channels. Through new standards, the capacity of existing channels is increased with new methods of error correction coding and modulation. In this work, Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes are implemented for their error correcting capability. LDPC is a linear error correcting code. These linear error correcting codes are used for transmitting a message over a noisy transmission channel. LDPC codes are finding increasing use in applications requiring reliable and highly efficient information transfer over noisy channels. These codes are capable of performing near to Shannon limit performance and have low decoding complexity. LDPC uses parity check matrix for its encoding and decoding purpose. The main advantage of the parity check matrix is that it helps in detecting and correcting errors which is a very important advantage against noisy channels. This work presents the design and implementation of a LDPC encoder for transmission of digital terrestrial television according to the Chinese DTMB standard. The system is written in Verilog and is implemented on FPGA. The whole work is then verified with the help of Matlab modelling.

By taking advantage of select features in standardized interfaces, vision system architects can help reduce processor load, cost and power consumption while gaining flexibility to source components from multiple vendors. In this presentation, Thanigasalam introduces the standardized MIPI CSI-2 imaging conduit solution for interfacing image sensors to processors.
Thanigasalam explains how the solution supports basic operations of a camera sensor, including physical frame transport options and orthogonal commands for autoexposure, autofocus, auto white balance and event detection. He also introduces command sets to help bring up and tune sensors. In addition, Thanigasalam explores provisions to alleviate RF emissions, enable aggregation of data from multiple remote sensors and alleviate the need for dual voltage signaling to avoid electrical overstress issues. He also touches on emerging support for frame transport using WiFi.

Abstract: Monitoring Receivers form an important constituent of the Electronic support. In Monitoring
Receiver we can monitor, demodulate or scan the multiple channels.
In this project, the Implementation of algorithm for multi channel digital monitoring receiver. The
implementation will carry out the channelization by the way of Digital down Converters (DDCs) and Digital
Base band Demodulation. The Intermediate Frequency (IF) at 10.7 MHz will be digitalized using Analog to
Digital Converter (ADC) with sampling frequency 52.5 MHz and further converted to Base band using DDCs.
Virtually all the digital receivers perform channel access using a DDC. The Base band data will be streamed to
the appropriate demodulators. Matlab Simulink will be used to simulate the logic modules before the
implementation. This system will be prototyped on an FPGA based COTS (Commercial-off-the-shelf)
development board. Xilinx System Generator will be used for the implementation of the algorithms.

Wireless sensor network is collection of one or more homogeneous or heterogeneous sensor
nodes which sense some events and inform sink for that by sending that data towards it to perform some
action. Data transmission is the most effective factor in sensor network that directly regret energy of
sensor node but though energy of sensor node is very crucial one need to save that energy by means of
minimizing redundancy and retransmission of data. Till the day many routing protocols are introduced
to route data efficiently in order to improve network life time but all protocols have some deficiency.
One of the most popular data centric dissemination protocols is Sensor Protocol for Information via
Negotiation (SPIN). It efficiently disseminates data among other nodes in the network. This protocol
uses meta-data for negotiation and eliminates the transmission of the outmoded data throughout the
network. This paper introduced improved SPIN which is further enhancement of SPIN protocol.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

To develop and implement an efficient vehicle-to-vehicle visible light
communication (VLC) system with the aim of enhancing vehicular
communication reliability and efficiency through optimized
communication protocols and hardware integration.

1. An End-to-End prototype of Full Duplex Bidirectional Visible Light
Communication has been implemented using 4 Arduino Boards.
2. A Custom Communication Protocol was implemented that uses the
ASCII encoding of characters for direct modulation of LED.

1. The LED is kept at ON position by default. This is done to simulate a vehicle’s
headlight / taillight during night.
2. Upon receiving a request to send a message, the Transmitter Code converts each
character of the message signal into 8 bits according to its ASCII encoding.

Here, we explore some ideas for designing a Direct LED Modulator to enhance the performance of
the transmitter:
1. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM): Implementing PWM techniques can enable precise control over the intensity of
light emitted by the LED array. By varying the duty cycle of the PWM signal, different brightness levels can be
achieved, facilitating the encoding of binary data efficiently. This method offers flexibility in adjusting the modulation
depth according to the specific requirements of the communication system.
2. Adaptive Modulation Schemes: Incorporating adaptive modulation schemes based on the ambient light conditions
can improve the reliability of data transmission. By dynamically adjusting the modulation parameters such as
modulation depth and frequency in response to changes in ambient light levels, the system can maintain optimal
performance under varying environmental conditions. Adaptive modulation ensures robust communication even in
challenging lighting environments.

4. Feedback Control Mechanisms: Implementing feedback control mechanisms based on received signal quality metrics
can enhance the reliability of communication. By continuously monitoring the received signal strength and error rates,
the transmitter can adapt its modulation parameters in real-time to optimize performance. Feedback control
mechanisms enable autonomous adjustment of modulation parameters, ensuring reliable communication even in
dynamic channel conditions.

Future Goals:
The following work can be done on the project:
1. Integration with a Car’s DRL System: We aim to enhance the functionality of these DRL
lights beyond their conventional purpose of increasing vehicle visibility during daylight hours
by including our VLC protocol in them.
2. Using Different Regions of Detectors for different channels: We aim to check if multiple
channels can be created on the detector array in different regions.
3. Changing Angle: We will see how the changing angle between the sending LED and the
receiving diode changes the accuracy of received message.
