Case Study Of Costa Crociere
Costa Crociere S.p.A. is an Italian cruise line company. It was founded in 1854 in Genoa as a cargo
shipping company. In the first decades of the XX century, the operations expanded at great speed until
1947, when passenger transportation services between Italy and South America were introduced. In
the following years the company converted all its business full time cruising and in the 90 s it became
one of the biggest cruise operators in Europe.
Until 1997, Costa Crociere was a family owned business, but that year the majority of its stakes were
sold to Carnival Corporation Plc, an American conglomerate that owns some of the most important
cruise line companies in the world. Costa Crociere, now also known as Costa Cruises Group remained
in control of the Italian operations and became also responsible for AIDA Cruises in Germany ... Show

The numbers of people visiting the island increased exponentially after January 2012, and people were
mainly drawn by the possibility to see the ship relict and take pictures of the disaster. However, Isola
del Giglio is a popular scuba diving destination and residents were afraid of the possible
environmental damage caused by fuel leakage and floating ship remains. The chief of the Italian
Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) agreed with the inhabitants and
forecasted a lost, in the worst case scenario, of dozens of millions of euros.
At popular level, De Falco s order phrase to Schettino Vada a bordo, cazzo! ( Go back on board, for

consequences of their actions. Schettino even became an Internet meme in various platforms, such as

Jane Addams Essay
The late 1800s was a time when many immigrants were coming to America, social classes were being
distinguished, and a great deal of prejudice was sweeping over the United States. The upper and
middle classes had extreme advantages over the lower class, which consisted of a large number of
immigrants. These lower class individuals were looked down upon by the prestigious upper class, who
were brought up with the best of everything for their time period. Despite her family s honorable place
in society, one woman rose above the gap between the classes in order to help individuals, who were
less fortunate than she. Her name was Jane Addams and this paper will focus on her life long
contributions to help the poor. Jane Addams was born on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This experience filled her head with ideas for her home state of Chicago.
When she returned back to the states, Addams and her good friend, Ellen Starr observed the many
slums of Chicago. While doing this, her mind was focused on starting a settlement house in Chicago.
Chicago seemed the place to look; it had large Italian colonies, and though bluff and grasping, it still
remembered the easy democracy of the prairies (Wise 128). The once prosperous neighborhood had
become home to thousands of European immigrants who had fled their native countries hoping to find
a better life in America (Kittredge 17). After Addams picked out her house, Starr and herself renovated
and decorated it with great excitement. Jane Addams had dreamed of serving humanity (Kittredge 15).
She got this opportunity with the opening of her Hull House on September 18, 1889. This settlement
house became a place of opportunities for many of the poverty stricken people of Chicago. Jane
Addams supported most of this house from her own pocket. However, she got help from many
volunteers, who wanted to help the poor as Jane had done. By the end of the year twenty volunteers
lived at Hull House, and others reported in on a weekly basis (Kittredge 48). Hull House offered much
to the poor people of Chicago. It had nursery schools, kindergartens, club meetings, craft classes,
classes of art and music, and job placement

It is recognized that construction has a detrimental effect on the environment. The root of this
problems is commonly due to damaging designs and marginalized developments. The construction
itself has also a great participation to this. To mitigate the risk of an absolute damage to the

pollution that provides the best scheme or option for managing the environment. It is significant to
contractors to be familiar and experienced in dealing with this legislation. The following items are
some common pollutants that may encounter from construction activities and the corresponding
regulations that needs to be observed.
Waste Management

I Was An Idiot For Saying No
The thought of her, that s what gets me through the day sometimes. I was an idiot for saying no. I try
to tell myself that its okay that I said no, that there re are more fish in the sea, you can always get her
back, you could ve made things work. None of those are true, I was down right nervous, scared,
thrown off balance, and a complete idiot. She is the prettiest person that I know. She s smart, funny,
interesting, and one amazing fine arts student. I some times imagined us dancing together, slowly and
methodically. Just the two of us on a dim light stage with a Righteous Brothers song playing in the
background. I can always see her face when I picture her, her hair, a beautiful dark brown that went
down to the top of her back. If the sun hit it just right she looks as if a phoenix rising from the ashes in
sheer fiery beauty. It would seem my heart would skip a beat each time it happens. Her eyes, I could
have stared into them for hours and just become lost, only to come back to reality from the sound of
her voice, smoother than silk. She always greeted me when I entered the room, always said goodbye,
could tell when I was falling down, and what could cheer me up. What we could ve been if I had only

Faith And Faith In The Film The Book Of Eli
In this essay, I will discuss my opinions and knowledge based on the film The Book of Eli. Discussing
particularly the questions how faith plays into the ethical decisions regarding life and death. I do
believe Eli was justified in defending the weak by killing the strong. Eli used his faith for protection,
he fought against evil along with doing more for others than for himself. Throughout the whole film,
God and faith is strongly seen. To begin, I will discuss what role faith plays in.
When Eli is faced with conflict his actions may be seen unethical but I see it as protection. Since the

History Of The Federal Bureau Of Investigation
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is a crucial part to the government because the agency protects
the nation from crime at the federal level. The Office of the Chief Examiner wanted to create a
branched off agency that investigated national criminals, and criminals who would stay in the state
would be investigated by the county or state agencies. General Bonaparte was assigned to this task. In
1908, ten previous secret service agents were hired to this force. By mid year 1909, the agency had
more than tripled in such a short time period. Attorney General Wickersham, Bonaparte s replacement
after he was gone, renamed the branch to Bureau of Investigation. The number of policemen rose
substantially in the next few years. In World War I, the main operation of the Bureau was to
investigate people refusing to draft, Espionage Act of 1917 violators, and radical immigrants. After J.
Edgar Hoover became director of the Bureau, the Bureau was built stronger to fight against criminals.
This included a fingerprint file, crime lab, and training for new agents. After this the Bureau was

Compare and Contrast How Cocaine, Ecstasy, Heroin and...
Compare and Contrast how Cocaine, Ecstasy, Heroin and Cannabis Work in the Brain
Drugs of abuse, such as cocaine, ecstasy, heroin and cannabis, are of natural or synthetic origin, which
can alter the emotional state, perception, body functioning and behaviour of an individual. Drugs are
known to work in the brain by activating certain brain circuits via different mechanisms, and stimulate
or inhibit different neurons in the pathway. However, due to the effects of each drug being different, a
drug will affect either different pathways and neurons in the brain to that of another, or through a
different process, i.e. direct or indirect activity. This essay will discuss the different mechanisms of
action that cocaine, ecstasy, heroin and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cocaine, on the other hand, has been found to have a profound effect on increased dopamine activity.
Kennedy Hanbauer (1983; cited in Karch, 2007) found a strong correlation between cocaine binding
and the inhibition of dopamine uptake, and therefore proposed that dopamine transporters are binding
sites for cocaine. Such research, which correlates strong reinforcing properties of cocaine with
inhibition of dopamine transporters, suggests that cocaine has a more significant affect upon
dopamine, than than it has upon serotonin and noradrenaline. The excessive role of dopamine can
explain the high degree of pleasure that users of cocaine experience, as well as depression and
cravings, which follow.
In contrast to ecstasy and cocaine, which increase the secretion of natural neurotransmitters by
blocking transporters, direct agonists imitate natural endogenous neuromediators and bind to their
receptors. Heroin and cannabis are both examples of direct agonists.
Many regions of the brain contain cannabinoid receptors, of which anandamide molecules, concerned
with regulating mood, appetite and emotions, naturally bind to. Cannabis contains an active ingredient
known as delta 9 tetrahydrocannabonic (THC), and when smoked or eaten, the THC imitates the
activity of anandamide by binding to cannabinoid receptors on nerve cells, and therefore influences

Essay On Transient Stability
Rotor Angle Stability Classification and Assessment Technique
This chapter proposes a hybrid stability assessment method, i.e., combine both time domain and direct
methods, for detection, classification and assessment of the transient and small signal dynamic
stability. The proposed energy function in chapter 3 is used to calculate the system energy. Then, the
overall system energy is compared to the sum of the critical energies of the critical series components
which can be determined using the proposed time to instability index. The HVDC system impact on
the system stability assessment technique is also discussed. A termination criterion for stable cases is
proposed to expand the proposed method capability to the dynamic security ... Show more content on

Moreover, the expected separation area(s), i.e., power system islands, and the critical series
components, i.e., islands boundaries using the equivalent of parallel components, are not accurately
determined. The simplest example of the direct methods is the EAC. The EAC method is enhanced to
be applicable to multi machine systems, i.e., extended equal area criterion (EEAC) [82]. The EEAC
method reduces the interconnected system into a two equivalent machine system or a single machine
infinite bus. Hence, this method can be used only for the classical generator equivalent model, i.e.,
swing equation model or second order model [76],[6]. An attempt has been made to overcome the
limitations of both time domain and Lyapunov like functions by combining them, i.e., hybrid methods
[6],[5]. The hybrid method also can be the result of combining time domain and EEAC methods [83],
i.e., Single Machine Equivalent (SIME) Method, to allow the use of detailed generator models.
However, they are valid only for unstable cases and fault duration relatively close to the fault clearing
time [76]. Also, all direct methods depend on the fault on trajectory [84] which is not accurate for a
fault followed by tripping a line and it is not valid for other contingencies not associated with faults.
Machine learning/pattern recognition techniques also are used for transient stability

Why Rebecca Is Not Crazy
No words can describe what goes on in this girl s mind. Some call her deranged, crazy, but others say
she is smart and insane, but you really need to get into the mind of a deranged person. Before she met
her maker, Rebecca was a well rounded girl with a good head on her shoulders. She was smart,
intelligent even a little nerdy, but she had a sweetheart/and would do anything for those of family or
friends. Rebecca does have OCD so she is very picky on some things including everything has to be in
an order. If not she goes a little mad which is normal at least for the normal side of her mind. Rebecca
has what some would say split personality, but she wasn t always like that, in fact, this girl was school

but she also laughs as well when someone is hurt. Rebecca was molded from her maker calling her his

Evidence Based Science Vs Religion
The opposite of science is commonly regarded to as religion. Scientific discoveries have been
challenging the established religions throughout history and have played a severe role in science s
influence in multiple generations. For example, during Copernicus s time, society was amidst an era of
reformation and rebellion where catholic authority was being questioned, especially with important
figures such as Martin Luther and astronomers such as Copernicus having such a power voice to
society. the famous astronomer, Galileo, was shunned by the Catholic church for endorsing the theory
that the earth revolved around the sun. Centuries later, Charles Darwin s ideas of evolution clashed
with the ideas of the majority of religious people. This lead to the ... Show more content on

Today s establishment consists of many religions, and depending on one s location in the world
depends on which religion is majority. In a country such as America, the first amendment protects the
rights for any person to practice their religion freely but this does not prevent out lash from both sides
of the arguments. In outside countries however, religion has been ruled by extremists that deny any
education that promotes non religion based science. Scientists continue to provide research, develop
new theories, and collect evidence regardless of the out lash received.
Outside of religious governmental power and laws, the closest belief based science to evidence based
science is pseudoscience. Many individuals rely on the healing power of the horoscopes and zodiac

The Concept of Communication Climates
Chapter 10: The Concept of Communication Climates Communication climate is the emotional tone
of a relationship between two or more individuals. The climate of the whole relationship is shaped by
the degree where the people believe they are valued by one another. There are two different levels of
message confirmations: confirming communications, which gives positive and conveying values to
the person, and disconfirming communication, the one that gives negative messages with lack of
regard or value for the other person. With these in mind, the climate starts to develop when two people
start to communicate. If their messages are confirming, then the climate is likely to be a positive one,
but if it is disconfirming then the climate becomes hostile and cold. These are shown through verbal
and non verbal a message, which grows the climate into a spiral. A spiral is a reciprocating
communication patter where each person s message reinforces the other. A positive spiral is where you
give your partner confirming messages, which is usually mutual. A negative spiral is where partners
feel worse about each other, which develops into a negative communication climate. In one significant
relationship I have with my friend, Kayla, we have a positive spiral, which started when we began to
communicate verbally. When we started communicating one on one, the communication climate
between us began to grow positively, in a confirming communication manner. Because we are usually

The Significant Meaning Of Devices In The Play Fences By...
The play fences by August Wilson The title Fences has a significant meaning between Troy and the
following characters Rose, Corey, and Bono. The play takes place in the 1950s; the Maxon house is a
small two story house with a lesser dirt yard and a partially built fence. In the yard there is a baseball
that hangs from the tree with a bat leaning against it. In the play, Rose is a caring woman who devoted
her life to Troy, her husband. Being ten years younger than Troy, Rose still found Troy s spirit fine and
illuminating (3). She also cares for their son Corey. Thought out the story Troy proves to not live up to
the responsibility and respect that he frequently talks about. He always preaches about how he does
not want to be in a place where he is not treated right, but does not always treat people right himself.
Troy cheats on his wife Rose with a woman named Alberta. Later, only to find out that Troy is having
a baby with Alberta. When Alberta dies giving birth to their daughter, Raynell, Troy asks Rose to take
care of his baby. Rose believes you can t visit the sins of the father upon the child (36). Meaning she is
willing to take care of Raynell, not for troy but because Raynell is an innocent child with no mother.
The fence does not only represent the physical fence that Rose asked Troy to build. The fence
symbolizes how Rose tries to keep her family together.

Title Search, what s in a name?
A title search is a way to prove who is selling the property and if they really have the right to sell it. It
s important for the buyer as it ensures and confirms what is being bought and
HSH 5 sold. Performing the title search is a part of most real estate transactions. There are steps
involved in a title search that examine the different pieces needed to prove ownership and allow for
the sale of property. Steps of researching and verifying chain of title, taxes, possession reports,
judgment, name searches and commitment are used to navigate the title search and verification. These
steps are not involved in renting and therefor can act as another motivation in favor of buying with a
sense of security instead of gambling on the landlords/companies word that the property is theirs to
offer.
When these searches have been completed, and the financial outcomes have been weighed the time to

Three Causes Of The Bhopal Chemical Plant Disaster In 1984
Introduction Three causes of the Bhopal Chemical Plant disaster happening in India in 1984 were long
term financial difficulties, poor safety management and inadequate emergency plans. The disaster
occurred when water entered a methyl isocyanate (MIC) storage tank, which led to a runaway reaction
and then discharged toxic MIC vapour into the atmosphere. The leak caused the death of more than
2,000 people and the health effects on about 200,000 locals in the surrounding shanty towns (Kletz
2009, p. 338). Long term financial difficulties One cause of the Bhopal chemical disaster was long
term financial difficulties, resulting in limited training and inadequate maintenance. limited training
According to Joseph, Kaszniak and Long (2005, p. 544), prior to the disaster, the company had been
facing a financial crisis for many years because the sale of pesticides had been fallen. Mannan (2012,
p. 2649) points out that due to the budget cuts, many plant operators received insufficient training on
operations and safety awareness. As shown in figure 1, there was a decrease in the length of training
programmes for plant operators from 18 months in 1975 to only one month in December 1984, which
is mentioned by Chouhan (2005, p. 207). Therefore, Chouhan (2005, p. 207) indicates that without the
knowledge of runaway reactions occurring in the storage tank when the accident happened, many
workers could not immediately take any emergency action to lessen the risk of the MIC escape from

What Does My Last Duchess Represent
The Blue Blood s Last Drop In the olden times, tendentious division was abundant between the
aristocrats and the proletariats. Noblemen innately blossomed wealthier than commoners this
presumably caused heightened power and strength regarding the noblemen s virtues in life. My Last
Duchess by Robert Browning precisely portrays an aristocrat through a character of a Duke. The poem
is intense, bitter and violent considering the Duke consistently expresses his insanity being used
against his former Duchess. Browning is renowned for his use of dark humor in his dramatic
monologues. This poem is an excellent example of a dramatic monologue that relates to Browning s

The Longbow Played an Important Role in England s Battles...
The longbow did not originate in England. The longbow actually originated in Wales by the Welsh.
Even though the longbow did not originate in England, it still played many roles for the English in
battle such as the battles of Poitiers, Agincourt, and Crécy.
The longbow was made from a wooden stave (usually made of yew) that was around 6 feet long and
approximately 5/8 inches wide. It was made out of yew because the outer white sapling part of the
wood could withstand a lot of tension and the inner red hardwood could resist compression. The
wooden stave was cured and hardened for 4 years, for the best quality. This process of curing and
hardening also helped protect the bow from harsh weather. The draw length for the longbow was

Edward captured Caen then traveled eastward along the Seine River. Edward knew that Philip was
gathering an immense army in Paris. So Edward and his army started traveling north along the coast to
evade this immense army in Paris. While traveling along the coast the English were stuck between the
Seine and Somme River. All the bridges were heavily guarded by the French. Taking advantage of this
situation Philip and his army began marching to Edward s location. While Philip s massive army was
only 6 miles away and with no way for the English to cross. A French captive informed Edward there
is a small crossing called Blanchetaque. Edward instantly set off to this crossing. A force of around
3,500 French were guarding this crossing which was more strongly than expected, but with the help of
the longbow men the English were able to fend off this French force and make them retreat. Edward s
army already low on supplies because of winning this battle acquired food and supplies. The English
also escaped the main French army because of this victory.
Battle of Crécy
Edward s army exhausted from the events that had happened camped near the forest of Crécy. Philip
and his army irritated that their attempt to trap the English between the two rivers did not work and
keen to defeat the English, quickly began to march to Crécy with his army of 20,000 25,000 men.

Donald Trump successfully won the 2016 election and will have four more years to successfully carry
out his term. From childhood to adulthood Trump has shown a charismatic personality, therefore, there
are plenty of insights predicting his actions during his presidency. In Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs
there are five stages. In order, the stages are: Physiological, Safety, Love and Belongingness, Esteem,
and Self Actualization. Trump flip flops between two of the stages: Love and Belongingness, and
Esteem. One of Trump s traits of the Big Five is narcissism, which in the McAdam s (2016) article, it
states that people display this trait because they lack early life mirroring. This means that the parents
failed to lovingly reflect on their child s budding grandiosity, in return, leaving the child desperately
seeking affirmation from others throughout their lives. Love and Belongingness reflects Trump s
narcissistic tendencies in this way. Trump shows the Esteem stage with his need to be the best, be
successful, and prove that he can be a successful president. As president of the United States, Trump is
trying to fulfill his Self Actualization need with Self Transcendence by helping others and fulfill his
inner potential as president. Trump bases his actions and goals on the

The Impact Of Television On The Television Industry
In the past, the television industry has always been looked down upon as compared to the film
industry, but the landscape has changed. Television is now a main staple in the entertainment business.
With the recent addition of Netflix and so called better content on TV, the television industry is in a
flux. For the first time, Nielsen does not have control over all television programming. In addition,
because of all the changes and question marks surrounding the industry because of companies like
Netflix going OTT, the scope of reference has changed. Due to the globalization of business
specifically in the television industry, minorities and women are playing a bigger role. However,
despite their presence, their role could be better utilized by the television space. Some people may
argue that minorities should be happy with their placement on TV. They argue that minorities should
be content, since they are being placed and being represented on television more than in the past.
However, as our society becomes increasingly connected with social media, the space for stereotypes
become smaller and smaller. Nowadays, many minorities do not want to be represented by any roles
that degrade their cultures. People also sometimes believe that those outside the entertainment
industry have no control over the outcomes. The times are changing and TV shows like Alice in
Arabia is the proof. That controversial show featured an American woman kidnapped in Saudi Arabia

Non Traditional Gender Roles And Identity Essay
Discuss the issues associated with non traditional gender roles and identity. Many professions are
traditionally occupied by one gender over the other, identified as occupational segregation (Hoffnung
et al., 2013). Furthermore, Hoffnung and colleagues (2013), state that females are often perceived as
carrying the burden of parenthood and general domestic chores, often in positions such as domestic
labour. Whereas males are traditionally employed in positions with lower social demands, in more
quantitatively and physically demanding positions. During the last thirty years there has been a
notable increase of females into traditionally male roles, however this has not been the case for males
entering female dominated roles (Hoffnung et al., 2013). Although there are growing numbers of men
entering nursing, they still account for a small minority of the workforce, unrepresentative of society
(Weaver, Ferguson, Wilbourn Salamonson, 2013). There are many issues surrounding non traditional
career choices, such as men in nursing. Gender role attitudes, interactions within ... Show more

psychological health. They are therefore constantly trying to establish their masculinity, having to

Second Temple Influence On The Old Testament
INTRODUCTION The Bible and its history are highly connected as we study the work of God
throughout the Old Testament. The Old Testament and the human history reflected the perfect plan of
God for humanity. Likewise, the New Testament; therefore, serves as an inevitable evidence of God s
grace. Though the voice of prophets was absent during the Second Temple period as it was described
as the silent years, the work of God was still continued among His people. The LORD revealed
Himself throughout the time in different discourses. This paper will begin with the definition of the
terminology of Second Temple period. Then it will aim at the survey of the influence by various
relevant events, people, and groups during the Second Temple period in chronological order, starting
with the Persian period and Israel s return from exile to the destruction of the Second Temple in AD
70. In addition, an attempt will be made to focus on the specific period of the Roman Peace Period and
its impact on the first century world of the Jews and their expectation of the Messiah. DEFINITION

Legalizing Tattooing in South Carolina Essay
What is tattooing?
Tattooing is the art of marking the skin with indelible patterns, pictures, or legends by making pricks
and inserting colored ink. The word itself has its origins in the South Pacific. The art had been referred
to as pricking, scarring, or staining until explorer Captain James Cook encountered the indigenous
peoples of Tahiti. (Wilkinson 6)
Tattooing is not just a recent fad. Tattooing has been around for a very long time. The current first
proven incident of a tattoo dates back 4,000 years B.C. a traveler was found in Italy near Austria,
preserved in the permafrost of a glacier. Carbon dating and arte facts found near him suggest that he is

Laws, which makes it illegal for someone to tattoo another person. The only exception allowed for in
the statute, which is listed in the Offenses Against Public Policy section of the code, is a licensed
doctor, and only if the doctor believes it is necessary when performing cosmetic or reconstructive

Tattoos have become increasingly popular recently according to American Academy of Dermatology
stating In fact, the number of tattoo studios has grown from 300 to over 4,000 nationally in the past 20

are mixed feelings about whether or not South Carolina and Oklahoma should legalize tattooing. Most
arguments against legalizing tattooing are irrelevant. South Carolina could gain much by legalizing
the art form and therefore should.
Some people that are against tattooing argue that it is a permanent marking. They argue that if
someone changes their mind about their tattoo, they are still stuck with it forever. All too many teens
make the decision to be tattooed or pierced based on misinformation. Others simply lack important
knowledge about the procedures (Reybold 38). Since most humans change their

literacy critic of the seventeenth century, of William Shakespeare. Shakespeare s play Julius Caesar,
was written in 1599 and was considered his [most readable work] (Glencoe McGraw Hill). Centuries
after the play was written, readers, actors, and theater goers have continued to question Brutus motive
for killing Caesar. His conflict between his loyalty to his friend and his country is shown throughout
the play. Brutus says, Since Cassius first did whet me against Caesar, I have not slept. (Shakespeare
801, 1.2.61 63) which demonstrates that he could not and would not kill Caesar without having good
cause for doing so. A look at Brutus s selfless reasons for turning against his friend Caesar shows that
he is a patriot and not a traitor. The other conspirators want to kill Caesar because they are envious and
jealous of his power, but Brutus wants to keep Rome a free country. Brutus is driven by patriotism, the
need to act on his values, and the need to keep the good name of his ancestors. For these reasons,

What Role Does Glinka Play In Russia
Russian culture in the nineteenth century was propagated virtually entirely through the poetry of a few
writers such as Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, and Pushkin. This is to say that the works of a select group of
wordsmiths represented the majority of the artistic output of the largest country in the world and
earned them elevated status. Russian music at this point took place on the most miniscule of scopes,
consisting mainly of folk melodies passed down equally through generations of nobility and peasantry
and provided little or no status boost. Of Russia s propensity towards folk song, novelist and music

twiddle factors needed in the DFT structure. More specifically, it reduces the number of calculations
and changes multiplication factor to shift operations, thus maintaining the performance of Symbol

(TI) is a distortionless technique that reduce peak to average power ratio significantly without data
rate loss and does not require the extra side information. However, the optimal TI scheme requires an
exhaustive search for all combinations of possible permutations of the expanded constellation, which

formulates the peak to average power ratio reduction with TI scheme as a particular combinatorial
optimization problem. Next they proposed the application of the cross entropy method to solve the

Reflection On Coaching Shadowing
I have critically reviewed both coaches A and B comparing them to each other. I will use Gibbs (1988)
model to help me reflective critically on the coaching shadowing I had to undertake as part of my
Sport Studies degree with the University of Hertfordshire during semester A. The reflection is for both
experiences with Coach A and B.
Coach A
Description
I undertook my coach shadowing in November for three weeks at Watford Academy. Sessions were
two hours long; the plan was to shadow at 8 hours for both coaches but as their training schedule
clashed with me under 12 team matches I was not able to do so. However, the overall experience
involved me shadowing coach A from a distance because the head of academy believed it would be
best I give the players and coach space. The sessions involved a mixture of technical practices at the
start with passing, dribbling and shooting activities then would progress into tactical practices such as
5v3 possession, one versus one on goal, 6v3 counter/overload scenarios and would normally end with
a small sided game. I was also able to observe a match with Arsenal V Watford U16. Arsenal won 5 0.
As for coach B I coach shadowed for four sessions, 90 minutes long, sessions included 30 minutes of
technical work, 10 minute tag game, 25 minutes on overloads and 20 minute match time.
Feelings
During the start of the experience, I felt thrilled, animated and overjoyed to have an opportunity to
shadow with Watford s academy. I saw it as an opportunity to get my foot in the door at the club, so it
could be a possible club I could work for in the future. However, as the experience continued, and the
weeks went by I was sceptical at the level of coaching I observed and frustrated with the attitude from
specific Watford players. From my point of view, I see it as a fantastic opportunity for both coaches
and players to use the club as a stepping stone to better themselves and give 100% in every session.
However, at times it felt like both coach and players treated it like they were going to do a shift in a
supermarket as an example. That was the vibe I got, perhaps the coach did not meet his role as being a
motivator for his players. Overall, I feel fortunate and thankful to have

The Student Transitional Empowerment Program
Thanks to the Student Transitional Empowerment Program (STEP), it has been very easy transitioning

much I appreciate STEP for getting me ready for college, because I did not feel like a lost puppy one
the first week of school. Without STEP I would be coming into campus with only one friend, but
thanks to STEP I came into campus with over 30 friends, which I now call family. I have people who I
can study with, grab lunch with and people who I can participate in activities with. In addition, where
would I go in between my classes? Thanks to ODIME office, I have a place to relax and study in
between my classes. However, not everything has been flowers and sun shine, because I have had
some difficulties transitioning to Mason, two in particular. One being that I have to commute over 30
minutes from my house. In high school, it would literally take me two minutes to drive, now I have to
go through a mission to get to my classes. The second thing I am having difficulties with is, how there
are no school lunches and I do not have mason money from STEP. Personally, it is difficult to pack
lunch when I get home and in the mornings because I am to tired and busy to do so at both times, so I
go without food the whole day.
This fall semester has been very different from the summer semester for me personally. One reason it
has been different, is how the class lectures go at a slower pace.

The Effects of Anxiety on Adolescent Women Research This paper includes five articles that report
results from research conducted to observe how adolescents, specifically female, are affected by the
anxiety disorders. Blumenthal, Leen Feldner, Babson, Frala (2011) stated Adolescence is a key period

Non Human Primate Reproductive Strategies
A key element in the life of any individual is to be able to reproduce. Nonhuman primates number
only 250 species but display great diversity in grouping patterns. We call some of these types of
groupings a one male polygyny or monogamy. However, the main focus today is that these primates
have evolved different strategies, behavioral and ecological, to cop with the need to balance limited
food supplies while avoiding predators with intensions of mating and or harming their offspring. It has
been assumed that in order for male primates to reach mating success, they must have to take on the
task of always being present to the female and her offspring s. I believe that I will argue that

(Dunbar, 1983) Among mountain gorillas, half of all the groups are one male. However, females leave
from one group to another. Polygynous females might be compensated for loss of exclusive paternal
care by mating with a genetically superior male, thereby increasing the likelihood of their progeny s
survival and ability to produce offspring (Alatalo and Lundberg 1986). (Hoglund, J. 1995) The
competition for these mating opportunities is driven by the female s choice. When this occurs, the
males lose females to another one male group and it exploits what males mating opportunities. When
one male group doesn t have the luxury of having females, they form or join a group of males similar
to a bachelor s group. In some of these species, the group of males attacks the one male group in order
to take his throne and seize the females (Hoglund, J. 1995). Sometimes, the females may get tired of
sharing the male with the other females in the group. Hoglund recorded (1995, pg. 76) so they seek
out males from all male groups to mate with during breeding season. Such influxes occur seasonally

Comparison Of Paleolithic And Neolithic People
People think the early humans were really smelly, rowdy, hairy, and known as cavemen. They are
really Paleolithic and Neolithic people who were actually intelligent. They made many advances to
help them survive.
First of all, the paleolithic people discovered fire, and the neolithic people discovered how to farm. In
my history it says The paleolithic people used fire to keep warm, the neolithic learned how to farm
crops . Paleolithic people used fire to scare away wild animals or predators away . The neolithic
people farmed to get food for their health. The paleolithic people used fire for light to see. Neolithic
people farmed for they can t get diseases in their health. The paleolithic people learned a new

The Conflict Between Science And Faith
In today s living, people struggle with the controversy between mind and spirit. Most times this is a
struggle between more than one person, and or a struggle between oneself. There is always a logical
side to a person and a passionate, expressive side, with the ones who decide to march under either
flag. The two sides often divide our generation, leaving some with only having put their trust in one
belief. These two sides, or beliefs bring up people such as mathematicians and artists, more relatively
science minded individuals and individuals of faith. More recently through the generations over
countless decades have these two sides become opposing forces. They have become two completely
different views of living. Francis Collins wrote this book to discuss the issue between these two
opposing forces. Francis Collins wrote and divided this book into three sections: Section one: The
Chasm Between Science and Faith, Part Two: The Great Questions of Human Existence, and Part
Three: Faith in Science, Faith in God. Section one of the book is about the story of Francis Collins
endeavor towards his new found faith and philosophical debates towards it; It being the faith. Collins
was raised with an indifference towards faith, describing his upbringing as that of being a freethinker.
Both his parents were both artistic folk, not the religious type. The only glimpse of church that Francis
Collins got was when he and his brothers had to sing at an Episcopalian church simply for

[53] This strengthens the security systems of e commerce business by applying strict actions towards
selling fake products and providing poor customer services. [52]
Alibaba.com has few core competencies that differentiate from its competitors. Its competitive
advantage is sustainable for few reasons. First, Alibaba.com has provided SMEs a large global
marketplace to run business. Besides, the main concern of Alibaba.com is its international expansion.
The social cooperation with technology and e commerce companies showing a competitive advantage
of having good partnerships increases its customer bases and brand popularity.

employees, because customers are the one who pay and employees are the one who contribute hard
work for building what it is now. [45] Alibaba.com comprehends the needs of customers in Chinese

Interconnectedness In Let The Great World Spin By Colum...
Let the Great World Spin, demonstrates throughout how each of our lives are connected to each other
all around the world whether we live in the same city or miles apart, whether we know each other or if
we are strangers. Everything overlaps and affects everyone in the world in some way. This
interconnectedness that is displayed throughout the novel is a huge theme and point that many might
miss upon reading this novel. Colum McCann, the author of Let the Great World Spin, developed a
intricate connectedness in the lives of each of his characters in the novel, it is through this that he
unites his characters together either physically and mentally. By doing this, the author develops an
idea that two or more very different life paths can cross and become intertwined with one another in a
way that can change the direction of someone s life; in other words, the people around us, even
strangers, can in some way, meaningfully influence us on accident without even knowing it. One
person s decision has many unknown and known effects. First example of how the author uses
connectedness as the point of this novel is how Ciaran and Lara end up getting married later in the
novel. At the beginning of the novel neither of the two characters know anything about the other s
existence until the car crash that ends Ciaran s brothers life that Lara and her ex husband, Blaine, were
involved in. It is through their grief that they get to know each other and learn to forgive themselves
and learn to move on. Had not Lara and Blaine not been the ones involved in the accident as far as we
know, Ciaran and Lara would not have met nor ever gotten married. A second example of the the
connection between characters is the connection Gloria and Claire share between each other, which
leads to Gloria and Jaslyn s connection in addition to Jaslyn and Claire s connection after Gloria dies.
Gloria and Claire s connection begins with the deaths of their sons in the Vietnam War. Their
connections spreads across a delicate and painful time and space as results of both having to deal and
cope with the tragic events with their sons and having it change their lives as they know it. Both
women are in a support group with other women who are also

Advantages Of Being A Free Rider
If the group succeeds in its endeavor, then very often these gains are available to those who are not its
members. The latter enjoy these rewards without making any effort to obtain them. It is rational to be
a free rider . For example, when a union agrees to raise wages, this increase usually applies to all
employees of the company, regardless of whether they are members of the union or not. Consequently,
the decision to be a free rider , as economists describe this kind of action, drive through the efforts of
others, is very rational. Collective actions are always connected with the problem of a free rider: the
difficulty of implementing mutually beneficial collective actions because of the possibility of
obtaining economic agents benefits without participation in common costs.
M. Olson argues that the poorer people, the more expensive it ... Show more content on

1) First, the larger the group, the smaller the share of an individual in the overall result, and the less
adequate compensation for any group action, and the further the group is removed from effective
work.
2) Secondly, the larger the group, the less likely that any subgroup of this group will receive a
sufficient amount of collective good to bear the costs of securing even a small amount of this good; or,
in other words, the larger the group, the less likely the oligopolistic interaction that would help ensure
the collective good.
3) Thirdly, the greater the number of participants in a group, the higher the organizational costs and
the higher the obstacle that must be overcome before at least some collective good is secured. Due to
all this, the larger the group, the further it will move away from providing itself with the optimal
amount of public good, and usually very large groups, in the absence of coercion or external influence,
will not be able to provide it, even in the smallest amount ...

Vincent Van Gogh And Oscar Wilde s The Decay Of Lying
Things as They Really Are
In his essay The Decay of Lying , Oscar Wilde wrote, No great artist ever sees things as they really
are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist. This prominent playwright believed that the purpose of
art stood in distortion and adornment. However, in comparing Point Reyes Country Road by Asha
Carolyn Young and Wheatfield with Crows by Vincent van Gogh, I made the conclusion that the
Wilde s statement is false. Many different forms of art exist, and whether it is realistic, abstract, or
anything else; all art styles should be recognized as art . Although the style is different, the result that
they provide to the audience is the same a reaction in a human sense or emotion.
Even at first glance, you can tell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Young s painting comes from the coast of North California, on a bright summer day, possibly on the
way to Point Reyes National Seashore for a vacation. Born privileged, Young lives with hope and faith
in Art and the Great Spirit. Van Gogh s painting comes from Auvers sur Oise, a rural area in France
while he struggled with financial instability and other mental issues. Van Gogh shot himself, but a
month before his demise, he produced more than 70 pieces of art. Because Wheatfield with Crows was
the last piece of his life, the emotions that he felt throughout his poor, disregarded, and sordid life
were condensed into this one painting. That changes a lot of things about how the audience views the
painting, doesn t it? Art can tell people s stories even through

trials involving genocide or crimes against humanity
...it is often argued that trials involving genocide or crimes against humanity are less about judging the
person than about establishing the truth of the events.
In nearly all the criminal prosecutions concerned with crimes against humanity committed during or
after World War II, some observers have doubted the ability of the criminal law to deal with the events
precisely in view of their enormous moral, historical, or political significance.

Instead, it has been thought necessary so as to enable the commencement of the healing process in the
victim: only when the injustice to which a person has been subjected has been publicly recognised, the
conditions for recovering from trauma are present and the dignity of the victim may be restored.
But, arguably, this healing process had already been allowed to take place. Trials at Nuremberg,
subsequent trials by the Allies, etc.
...if crimes against humanity really emerge from Kant labelled radical evil , an evil that exceeds the
bounds of instrumental rationality, that seeks no objective beyond itself, then... the deterrent force of

Influenza Virus Life Cycle
Influenza A viruses are enveloped, single stranded, negative sense RNA viruses which contain eight
gene segments. The influenza virus life cycle can be divided into the four stages: entry of virus inside
the host cell entry of vRNPs (also known as viral nucleoproteins) into the nucleus of host cell ,
transcription and replication of the viral RNA, export of the vRNPs from the nucleus and finally
leading towards assembly and budding of newly formed Influenza virus from the host cell membrane.
The virus infection is initiated by binding of the virus to sialic acid host cell surface receptors, and the
entry of pathogen is mediated by receptor mediated endocytosis. The next step involves the fusion of
viral envelope and the host cell membrane. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The synthesis of the viral glycoproteins HA NA starts in the cytoplasm and later these growing
polypeptide chains are transported to the endoplasmic reticulum where the proteins are modified and
assembled into trimers and tetramers ( Samji T.,2009).These proteins are then transported through the
Golgi apparatus and the trans Golgi network to the plasma membrane of the cell where they inserted
finally. The synthesis and folding of viral core proteins occur entirely in the cytoplasm. NP and the
RNA polymerase components interact with newly synthesized viral RNA to form RNPs. The M1
protein forms interaction with the C terminal domains of HA and NA protein on the cell plasma
membrane. The newly formed RNPs interact with the M1 protein. This interaction also stops re entry
of RNPs inside the nucleus of the cell. After attachment of RNPs to M1protein where it act as a bridge
on the inner half of the cell plasma membranes, in a process of budding, the new virus particles are
assembled . The progeny virions bud off from the host cell. (Shi etal.,2014).As soon as budding takes
place, the new virions are still attached to the cell surface through interaction of the HA with sialic
acid moieties on cellular glycoproteins or glycolipids. The

In the first decades of the XX century, the operations expanded at great speed until 1947, when passenger transportation services between Italy and South America were introduced. In the following years the company converted all its business full time cruising and in the 90 s it became one of the biggest cruise operators in Europe. Until 1997, Costa Crociere was a family owned business, but that year the majority of its stakes were sold to Carnival Corporation Plc, an American conglomerate that owns some of the most important cruise line companies in the world. • 4. Jane Addams Essay The late 1800s was a time when many immigrants were coming to America, social classes were being distinguished, and a great deal of prejudice was sweeping over the United States. The upper and middle classes had extreme advantages over the lower class, which consisted of a large number of immigrants. These lower class individuals were looked down upon by the prestigious upper class, who were brought up with the best of everything for their time period. Despite her family s honorable place in society, one woman rose above the gap between the classes in order to help individuals, who were less fortunate than she. Her name was Jane Addams and this paper will focus on her life long contributions to help the poor. Jane Addams was born on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This experience filled her head with ideas for her home state of Chicago. When she returned back to the states, Addams and her good friend, Ellen Starr observed the many slums of Chicago. While doing this, her mind was focused on starting a settlement house in Chicago. Chicago seemed the place to look; it had large Italian colonies, and though bluff and grasping, it still remembered the easy democracy of the prairies (Wise 128). The once prosperous neighborhood had become home to thousands of European immigrants who had fled their native countries hoping to find a better life in America (Kittredge 17). After Addams picked out her house, Starr and herself renovated and decorated it with great excitement. Jane Addams had dreamed of serving humanity (Kittredge 15). She got this opportunity with the opening of her Hull House on September 18, 1889. This settlement house became a place of opportunities for many of the poverty stricken people of Chicago. Jane Addams supported most of this house from her own pocket. However, she got help from many volunteers, who wanted to help the poor as Jane had done. By the end of the year twenty volunteers lived at Hull House, and others reported in on a weekly basis (Kittredge 48). Hull House offered much to the poor people of Chicago. It had nursery schools, kindergartens, club meetings, craft classes, classes of art and music, and job placement ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Discussing particularly the questions how faith plays into the ethical decisions regarding life and death. I do believe Eli was justified in defending the weak by killing the strong. Eli used his faith for protection, he fought against evil along with doing more for others than for himself. Throughout the whole film, God and faith is strongly seen. To begin, I will discuss what role faith plays in. When Eli is faced with conflict his actions may be seen unethical but I see it as protection. • 10. History Of The Federal Bureau Of Investigation The Federal Bureau of Investigation is a crucial part to the government because the agency protects the nation from crime at the federal level. The Office of the Chief Examiner wanted to create a branched off agency that investigated national criminals, and criminals who would stay in the state would be investigated by the county or state agencies. General Bonaparte was assigned to this task. In 1908, ten previous secret service agents were hired to this force. By mid year 1909, the agency had more than tripled in such a short time period. Attorney General Wickersham, Bonaparte s replacement after he was gone, renamed the branch to Bureau of Investigation. The number of policemen rose substantially in the next few years. In World War I, the main operation of the Bureau was to investigate people refusing to draft, Espionage Act of 1917 violators, and radical immigrants. After J. Edgar Hoover became director of the Bureau, the Bureau was built stronger to fight against criminals. This included a fingerprint file, crime lab, and training for new agents. Compare and Contrast how Cocaine, Ecstasy, Heroin and Cannabis Work in the Brain Drugs of abuse, such as cocaine, ecstasy, heroin and cannabis, are of natural or synthetic origin, which can alter the emotional state, perception, body functioning and behaviour of an individual. Drugs are known to work in the brain by activating certain brain circuits via different mechanisms, and stimulate or inhibit different neurons in the pathway. However, due to the effects of each drug being different, a drug will affect either different pathways and neurons in the brain to that of another, or through a different process, i.e. direct or indirect activity. Cocaine, on the other hand, has been found to have a profound effect on increased dopamine activity. Kennedy Hanbauer (1983; cited in Karch, 2007) found a strong correlation between cocaine binding and the inhibition of dopamine uptake, and therefore proposed that dopamine transporters are binding sites for cocaine. Such research, which correlates strong reinforcing properties of cocaine with inhibition of dopamine transporters, suggests that cocaine has a more significant affect upon dopamine, than than it has upon serotonin and noradrenaline. The excessive role of dopamine can explain the high degree of pleasure that users of cocaine experience, as well as depression and cravings, which follow. In contrast to ecstasy and cocaine, which increase the secretion of natural neurotransmitters by blocking transporters, direct agonists imitate natural endogenous neuromediators and bind to their receptors. Heroin and cannabis are both examples of direct agonists. Many regions of the brain contain cannabinoid receptors, of which anandamide molecules, concerned with regulating mood, appetite and emotions, naturally bind to. Cannabis contains an active ingredient known as delta 9 tetrahydrocannabonic (THC), and when smoked or eaten, the THC imitates the activity of anandamide by binding to cannabinoid receptors on nerve cells, and therefore influences ... • 12. Essay On Transient Stability Rotor Angle Stability Classification and Assessment Technique This chapter proposes a hybrid stability assessment method, i.e., combine both time domain and direct methods, for detection, classification and assessment of the transient and small signal dynamic stability. The proposed energy function in chapter 3 is used to calculate the system energy. Then, the overall system energy is compared to the sum of the critical energies of the critical series components which can be determined using the proposed time to instability index. The HVDC system impact on the system stability assessment technique is also discussed. A termination criterion for stable cases is proposed to expand the proposed method capability to the dynamic security ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, the expected separation area(s), i.e., power system islands, and the critical series components, i.e., islands boundaries using the equivalent of parallel components, are not accurately determined. The simplest example of the direct methods is the EAC. The EAC method is enhanced to be applicable to multi machine systems, i.e., extended equal area criterion (EEAC) [82]. The EEAC method reduces the interconnected system into a two equivalent machine system or a single machine infinite bus. Hence, this method can be used only for the classical generator equivalent model, i.e., swing equation model or second order model [76],[6]. An attempt has been made to overcome the limitations of both time domain and Lyapunov like functions by combining them, i.e., hybrid methods [6],[5]. The hybrid method also can be the result of combining time domain and EEAC methods [83], i.e., Single Machine Equivalent (SIME) Method, to allow the use of detailed generator models. However, they are valid only for unstable cases and fault duration relatively close to the fault clearing time [76]. Also, all direct methods depend on the fault on trajectory [84] which is not accurate for a fault followed by tripping a line and it is not valid for other contingencies not associated with faults. Machine learning/pattern recognition techniques also are used for transient stability ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rebecca has what some would say split personality, but she wasn t always like that, in fact, this girl was school body president, someone who would volunteer at animal shelters and even old folks homes. • 16. The Concept of Communication Climates Chapter 10: The Concept of Communication Climates Communication climate is the emotional tone of a relationship between two or more individuals. The climate of the whole relationship is shaped by the degree where the people believe they are valued by one another. There are two different levels of message confirmations: confirming communications, which gives positive and conveying values to the person, and disconfirming communication, the one that gives negative messages with lack of regard or value for the other person. With these in mind, the climate starts to develop when two people start to communicate. If their messages are confirming, then the climate is likely to be a positive one, but if it is disconfirming then the climate becomes hostile and cold. These are shown through verbal and non verbal a message, which grows the climate into a spiral. A spiral is a reciprocating communication patter where each person s message reinforces the other. A positive spiral is where you give your partner confirming messages, which is usually mutual. A negative spiral is where partners feel worse about each other, which develops into a negative communication climate. In one significant relationship I have with my friend, Kayla, we have a positive spiral, which started when we began to communicate verbally. When we started communicating one on one, the communication climate between us began to grow positively, in a confirming communication manner. Because we are usually together in ... The play fences by August Wilson The title Fences has a significant meaning between Troy and the following characters Rose, Corey, and Bono. The play takes place in the 1950s; the Maxon house is a small two story house with a lesser dirt yard and a partially built fence. In the yard there is a baseball that hangs from the tree with a bat leaning against it. In the play, Rose is a caring woman who devoted her life to Troy, her husband. Being ten years younger than Troy, Rose still found Troy s spirit fine and illuminating (3). She also cares for their son Corey. Thought out the story Troy proves to not live up to the responsibility and respect that he frequently talks about. He always preaches about how he does not want to be in a place where he is not treated right, but does not always treat people right himself. Troy cheats on his wife Rose with a woman named Alberta. Later, only to find out that Troy is having a baby with Alberta. When Alberta dies giving birth to their daughter, Raynell, Troy asks Rose to take care of his baby. Rose believes you can t visit the sins of the father upon the child (36). Meaning she is willing to take care of Raynell, not for troy but because Raynell is an innocent child with no mother. Performing the title search is a part of most real estate transactions. There are steps involved in a title search that examine the different pieces needed to prove ownership and allow for the sale of property. Steps of researching and verifying chain of title, taxes, possession reports, judgment, name searches and commitment are used to navigate the title search and verification. These steps are not involved in renting and therefor can act as another motivation in favor of buying with a sense of security instead of gambling on the landlords/companies word that the property is theirs to offer. • 20. Three Causes Of The Bhopal Chemical Plant Disaster In 1984 Introduction Three causes of the Bhopal Chemical Plant disaster happening in India in 1984 were long term financial difficulties, poor safety management and inadequate emergency plans. The disaster occurred when water entered a methyl isocyanate (MIC) storage tank, which led to a runaway reaction and then discharged toxic MIC vapour into the atmosphere. The leak caused the death of more than 2,000 people and the health effects on about 200,000 locals in the surrounding shanty towns (Kletz 2009, p. 338). Long term financial difficulties One cause of the Bhopal chemical disaster was long term financial difficulties, resulting in limited training and inadequate maintenance. limited training According to Joseph, Kaszniak and Long (2005, p. 544), prior to the disaster, the company had been facing a financial crisis for many years because the sale of pesticides had been fallen. Mannan (2012, p. 2649) points out that due to the budget cuts, many plant operators received insufficient training on operations and safety awareness. As shown in figure 1, there was a decrease in the length of training programmes for plant operators from 18 months in 1975 to only one month in December 1984, which is mentioned by Chouhan (2005, p. 207). Therefore, Chouhan (2005, p. 207) indicates that without the knowledge of runaway reactions occurring in the storage tank when the accident happened, many workers could not immediately take any emergency action to lessen the risk of the MIC escape from ... Even though the longbow did not originate in England, it still played many roles for the English in battle such as the battles of Poitiers, Agincourt, and Crécy. The longbow was made from a wooden stave (usually made of yew) that was around 6 feet long and approximately 5/8 inches wide. It was made out of yew because the outer white sapling part of the wood could withstand a lot of tension and the inner red hardwood could resist compression. The wooden stave was cured and hardened for 4 years, for the best quality. This process of curing and hardening also helped protect the bow from harsh weather. I will use Gibbs (1988) model to help me reflective critically on the coaching shadowing I had to undertake as part of my Sport Studies degree with the University of Hertfordshire during semester A. The reflection is for both experiences with Coach A and B. Coach A Description I undertook my coach shadowing in November for three weeks at Watford Academy. Sessions were two hours long; the plan was to shadow at 8 hours for both coaches but as their training schedule clashed with me under 12 team matches I was not able to do so. However, the overall experience involved me shadowing coach A from a distance because the head of academy believed it would be best I give the players and coach space. The sessions involved a mixture of technical practices at the start with passing, dribbling and shooting activities then would progress into tactical practices such as 5v3 possession, one versus one on goal, 6v3 counter/overload scenarios and would normally end with a small sided game. I was also able to observe a match with Arsenal V Watford U16. Arsenal won 5 0. As for coach B I coach shadowed for four sessions, 90 minutes long, sessions included 30 minutes of technical work, 10 minute tag game, 25 minutes on overloads and 20 minute match time. Feelings During the start of the experience, I felt thrilled, animated and overjoyed to have an opportunity to shadow with Watford s academy. I saw it as an opportunity to get my foot in the door at the club, so it could be a possible club I could work for in the future. However, as the experience continued, and the weeks went by I was sceptical at the level of coaching I observed and frustrated with the attitude from specific Watford players. From my point of view, I see it as a fantastic opportunity for both coaches and players to use the club as a stepping stone to better themselves and give 100% in every session. However, at times it felt like both coach and players treated it like they were going to do a shift in a supermarket as an example. The second thing I am having difficulties with is, how there are no school lunches and I do not have mason money from STEP. Personally, it is difficult to pack lunch when I get home and in the mornings because I am to tired and busy to do so at both times, so I go without food the whole day. This fall semester has been very different from the summer semester for me personally. One reason it has been different, is how the class lectures go at a slower pace. ... Effects Of Anxiety On Adolescent Women The Effects of Anxiety on Adolescent Women Zoon Fonville Eastern Florida State College Fall 2015 Total Word count 2195 1684 157 references=1504 Body WC The Effects of Anxiety on Adolescent Women Research This paper includes five articles that report results from research conducted to observe how adolescents, specifically female, are affected by the anxiety disorders. Blumenthal, Leen Feldner, Babson, Frala (2011) stated Adolescence is a key period in terms of the onset and intensification of psychological diagnoses and symptomatology across clinical domains (e.g., depression, panic attacks; and both empirical and theoretical work highlight this phase in terms of social anxiety specifically . However, anxiety can affect those entering the pubescent period in more than just socially based forms. Blumenthal, Leen Feldner, Babson, Frala (2011) performed an observational study on various participants to determine whether or not anxiety affects which ages and genders most severely. The purpose of this paper was to compare the anxiety levels in those reaching the pubescent stages at different maturity levels. They hypothesized that anxiety would be most severe in those who matured earlier and hit a pubescent period younger. Procedures: Youth were screened for particularly erratic criteria, and the eligible were scheduled for the experiment, only when participant and parental consent, for child participation, was received. Once parents and youth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Non Human Primate Reproductive Strategies A key element in the life of any individual is to be able to reproduce. Nonhuman primates number only 250 species but display great diversity in grouping patterns. We call some of these types of groupings a one male polygyny or monogamy. However, the main focus today is that these primates have evolved different strategies, behavioral and ecological, to cop with the need to balance limited food supplies while avoiding predators with intensions of mating and or harming their offspring. It has been assumed that in order for male primates to reach mating success, they must have to take on the task of always being present to the female and her offspring s. I believe that I will argue that monogamy and one male polygyny are different yet both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Dunbar, 1983) Among mountain gorillas, half of all the groups are one male. However, females leave from one group to another. Polygynous females might be compensated for loss of exclusive paternal care by mating with a genetically superior male, thereby increasing the likelihood of their progeny s survival and ability to produce offspring (Alatalo and Lundberg 1986). (Hoglund, J. 1995) The competition for these mating opportunities is driven by the female s choice. When this occurs, the males lose females to another one male group and it exploits what males mating opportunities. When one male group doesn t have the luxury of having females, they form or join a group of males similar to a bachelor s group. In some of these species, the group of males attacks the one male group in order to take his throne and seize the females (Hoglund, J. 1995). Sometimes, the females may get tired of sharing the male with the other females in the group. Hoglund recorded (1995, pg. 76) so they seek out males from all male groups to mate with during breeding season. Such influxes occur seasonally between blue monkeys (Rowell, 1988), Hanuman Langurs (Boories et al., 1999), ring tailed lemurs (Sussman, 1992), and sifakas (Richard 1992). A nonhuman ... • 43. The Conflict Between Science And Faith In today s living, people struggle with the controversy between mind and spirit. Most times this is a struggle between more than one person, and or a struggle between oneself. There is always a logical side to a person and a passionate, expressive side, with the ones who decide to march under either flag. The two sides often divide our generation, leaving some with only having put their trust in one belief. These two sides, or beliefs bring up people such as mathematicians and artists, more relatively science minded individuals and individuals of faith. More recently through the generations over countless decades have these two sides become opposing forces. They have become two completely different views of living. Francis Collins wrote this book to discuss the issue between these two opposing forces. Francis Collins wrote and divided this book into three sections: Section one: The Chasm Between Science and Faith, Part Two: The Great Questions of Human Existence, and Part Three: Faith in Science, Faith in God. Section one of the book is about the story of Francis Collins endeavor towards his new found faith and philosophical debates towards it; It being the faith. Collins was raised with an indifference towards faith, describing his upbringing as that of being a freethinker. Both his parents were both artistic folk, not the religious type. • 45. Interconnectedness In Let The Great World Spin By Colum... Let the Great World Spin, demonstrates throughout how each of our lives are connected to each other all around the world whether we live in the same city or miles apart, whether we know each other or if we are strangers. Everything overlaps and affects everyone in the world in some way. This interconnectedness that is displayed throughout the novel is a huge theme and point that many might miss upon reading this novel. Colum McCann, the author of Let the Great World Spin, developed a intricate connectedness in the lives of each of his characters in the novel, it is through this that he unites his characters together either physically and mentally. By doing this, the author develops an idea that two or more very different life paths can cross and become intertwined with one another in a way that can change the direction of someone s life; in other words, the people around us, even strangers, can in some way, meaningfully influence us on accident without even knowing it. One person s decision has many unknown and known effects. First example of how the author uses connectedness as the point of this novel is how Ciaran and Lara end up getting married later in the novel. At the beginning of the novel neither of the two characters know anything about the other s existence until the car crash that ends Ciaran s brothers life that Lara and her ex husband, Blaine, were involved in. It is through their grief that they get to know each other and learn to forgive themselves and learn to move on. Had not Lara and Blaine not been the ones involved in the accident as far as we know, Ciaran and Lara would not have met nor ever gotten married. A second example of the the connection between characters is the connection Gloria and Claire share between each other, which leads to Gloria and Jaslyn s connection in addition to Jaslyn and Claire s connection after Gloria dies. Gloria and Claire s connection begins with the deaths of their sons in the Vietnam War. Their connections spreads across a delicate and painful time and space as results of both having to deal and cope with the tragic events with their sons and having it change their lives as they know it. • 46. Advantages Of Being A Free Rider If the group succeeds in its endeavor, then very often these gains are available to those who are not its members. The latter enjoy these rewards without making any effort to obtain them. It is rational to be a free rider . For example, when a union agrees to raise wages, this increase usually applies to all employees of the company, regardless of whether they are members of the union or not. Consequently, the decision to be a free rider , as economists describe this kind of action, drive through the efforts of others, is very rational. Collective actions are always connected with the problem of a free rider: the difficulty of implementing mutually beneficial collective actions because of the possibility of obtaining economic agents benefits without participation in common costs. Due to all this, the larger the group, the further it will move away from providing itself with the optimal amount of public good, and usually very large groups, in the absence of coercion or external influence, will not be able to provide it, even in the smallest amount ... ... • 47. Vincent Van Gogh And Oscar Wilde s The Decay Of Lying Things as They Really Are In his essay The Decay of Lying , Oscar Wilde wrote, No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist. This prominent playwright believed that the purpose of art stood in distortion and adornment. However, in comparing Point Reyes Country Road by Asha Carolyn Young and Wheatfield with Crows by Vincent van Gogh, I made the conclusion that the Wilde s statement is false. Many different forms of art exist, and whether it is realistic, abstract, or anything else; all art styles should be recognized as art . Although the style is different, the result that they provide to the audience is the same a reaction in a human sense or emotion. Even at first glance, you can tell ... • 49. Influenza Virus Life Cycle Influenza A viruses are enveloped, single stranded, negative sense RNA viruses which contain eight gene segments. The influenza virus life cycle can be divided into the four stages: entry of virus inside the host cell entry of vRNPs (also known as viral nucleoproteins) into the nucleus of host cell , transcription and replication of the viral RNA, export of the vRNPs from the nucleus and finally leading towards assembly and budding of newly formed Influenza virus from the host cell membrane. The virus infection is initiated by binding of the virus to sialic acid host cell surface receptors, and the entry of pathogen is mediated by receptor mediated endocytosis. The next step involves the fusion of viral envelope and the host cell membrane. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The synthesis of the viral glycoproteins HA NA starts in the cytoplasm and later these growing polypeptide chains are transported to the endoplasmic reticulum where the proteins are modified and assembled into trimers and tetramers ( Samji T.,2009).These proteins are then transported through the Golgi apparatus and the trans Golgi network to the plasma membrane of the cell where they inserted finally. The synthesis and folding of viral core proteins occur entirely in the cytoplasm. NP and the RNA polymerase components interact with newly synthesized viral RNA to form RNPs. The M1 protein forms interaction with the C terminal domains of HA and NA protein on the cell plasma membrane. The newly formed RNPs interact with the M1 protein. This interaction also stops re entry of RNPs inside the nucleus of the cell. After attachment of RNPs to M1protein where it act as a bridge on the inner half of the cell plasma membranes, in a process of budding, the new virus particles are assembled . The progeny virions bud off from the host cell.
