The Bible's detailed account of human creation also suggests humans were prioritized and given dominion over animals, implying a purpose. However, it is also argued that humans may be meant to use their intellect to discern their own purpose, and that humanity's purpose is ever-changing rather than singular, as suggested by the question. The author believes humans do not have one clear purpose defined by God.

Here are some potential disadvantages of zero based budgeting:
- Time consuming - ZBB requires analyzing and justifying every line item and program from scratch each budget cycle, which can be an extensive process that takes a lot of time and resources away from other tasks.
- Lack of continuity - Reevaluating budgets entirely each period provides little continuity from one year to the next. This approach may disrupt ongoing programs and initiatives.
- Difficulty prioritizing - With every expenditure requiring justification, it can be challenging for managers to prioritize spending and determine what is most essential versus nice to have. This can lead to analysis paralysis.
- Resistance to change - Managers and departments may resist the ZBB process since

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

The doctors could tell if the cells keep mutating or they stop, and they could see if the cancer cells

The evolution of luciferase begins with the LUC gene. mRNA would copy the LUC gene in DNA and
later go to the cytoplasm to do transcription to form the luciferase. The reason that this enzyme
evolved many times in many organisms is because luciferase could be connected with the other
proteins to track where they are going. Moreover, there are many organisms that would glow.
Luciferase is an important enzyme that would help the organisms glow. Because the sequence of the
amino acid chain is different, and different luciferase enzyme would be produced. On this occasion,
there would be different color of the light.
This is the genetic mutation happening during the translation. When there is one amino acid been
changed, it would turn into another color. This change causes the outcome it does because the
sequence of the amino acid chains would affect the color of the light. Although the function of them is
the same, but each of them would have different characteristics. For example, we all have eyes, face,
nose....... although we can tell the functions of them and recognize them easily, however, we all have
different color of eyes and hair, and this is because the sequence of our gene is different. Therefore,
even only one amino acid is changed, the result would be totally

4. The Effects Of Leptin On Other Human Obese Gene Located On...
Leptin is a protein containing 166 amino acids and is the product of human obese gene located on
chromosome 7q31.3. Leptin is produced mainly by adipose tissue. It is also synthesized in small
amounts in other human tissues such as the stomach, heart, mammary epithelium , placenta, ovaries,
skeletal muscle, pituitary, and liver (Muoio et al., 2002).
After leptin is secreted by the adipose tissue, it enters the brain through the bloodstream. Gastric leptin
may also reach hypothalamus through the vagal nerve and nucleus solitarius. Effects of leptin on
various systems have been reported, including reproduction, immune system, hematopoesis,
angiogenesis, bone formation and wound healing. It plays an important role in energy balance by
inhibiting energy intake contrary to ghrelin, and by regulating body weight and energy homeostasis
(Moran Phillip, 2003).
The expression of leptin by adipose tissue is also influenced by feeding behaviour. Short term (12 h)
or long term (2 or 8 weeks) overfeeding results in an increase in adipocyte leptin expression and
circulating leptin in healthy human subjects. Furthermore, circulating leptin levels show a diurnal
pattern and are influenced by gender, age, exercise and glucose uptake (Table 3).

Natural Gas and Its use as a Alternative Fuel Compared to Gasoline Have you ever confused the terms
Natural Gas and Gasoline ? Well don t, because they are two very different types of gases. Natural gas
and Gasoline are considered fossil fuels to most scientists because it is believed they were formed
from the remains of sea animals and plants that died 200 400 million years ago. These sea animals
were then covered by layers of sediment and rock over time which caused them to become buried
deeper and deeper, until enormous amounts of pressure and heat turned them into oil and gas. Raw

masses deep within the earth, yet the most widely used and effective way of finding
Natural gas is by drilling down through the layers of sedimentary rock to reach the rock formations
that contain oil and gas deposits. After natural gas comes out of the ground, it goes to a processing
plant where it is cleaned of impurities and separated into its various components.
Now, the type of natural gas that goes into automobiles is called Liquefied Natural Gas, or
LNG. The process for making LNG starts the same way as producing natural gas, except the natural
gas is cooled to 260 degrees Fahrenheit. By doing this, the natural gas changes into
LNG and its volume is reduced 600 times. Another exceptional way Natural gas is found is by 3
D and 4 D seismic imaging. This technique uses powerful technology from computers to help
determine accuracy in whereas to drill. Another technique used to find natural gas is called
Hydraulic fracturing. . This involves the injection of more than a million gallons of water, sand and
chemicals at high pressure, down and across into horizontally drilled wells as far as 10,000

There are currently two widely used methods of delivering DNA vaccines: injection or gene gun
In an injection, as much as 100 to 200 microliters of DNA are injected directly into muscle tissue
Muscle tissue is inefficient as an uptake site, so more DNA is needed to ensure that enough plasmids
are taken into host cells
Delivery Methods Continued
In the gene gun method, as little as sixteen nanograms of DNA are fired directly into the abdominal

This method needs so little DNA because the DNA is directly bombarded into individual cells.

responsibility and a life long job that the work gets harder every day. Although I myself am not a

life. Some mothers are not ready for this job, yet selfishly still choose to keep their children because

A way a child could be abandoned is if the baby is left on a doorstep of a stranger or a church. Leaving
a child at a church is very common and they will eventually be reported to the police. From there the
child will most likely be brought to a foster home where they will further place the child with a family
who will protect and love the child like their own. The parent or the person legally in charge of taking
care of the child will be found and face serious criminal charges. The criminal charges would include
abandonment and endangering a child. The effects this abandonment has on a child are ever lasting
and may not go away with therapy or being adopted. According to the article The Neglect Of Child
Neglect: A Meta Analytic Review Of The Prevalence Of Neglect it states, Infancy is recognized as the
period between the second postnatal month and two years, previous to the mid childhood. In humans
the period is extremely sensitive to maternal investment mother dependence for survival, and is
characterized by rapid neural growth (Stoltenborgh, Bakermans Kranenburg, Ijzendoorn). The child
develops neurological damage due to being left by the person who was supposed to care and protect
them throughout their life. Sandra Maria Esteves shows what a healthy living condition for a child

There is a technical issue at this stage of the project that is if we convert the analog output of the
accelerometer, which ranges from 1.5 volts to 3.5 volts to a digital 8 bit output the systems become
very sensitive. Reason is division of 2 volts range into 256 (28 = 256) steps is much more sensitive
than converting 5 volts range into 256 steps. Now the question arises, why do we need a less sensitive
system, the answer if a more sensitive system is used then there is a huge change in the digital output
with the very little tilt of the hand, which is difficult to be handled.
[pic]
Fig. 3: Amplification and Attenuation Circuitry
Solution to this problem is to increase the range of the output of the accelerometer by using an
additional circuitry. This additional circuitry increases the range of the accelerometer from 2 volts
range to 5volts range. The circuitry shown in Fig.3 is used for theamplification and attenuation
purposes. Amplification means amplification of upper range i.e. 3.5 volts to the 5 volts, and the
attenuation means the attenuation of lower range i.e. 1.5 volts to 0 volts.
3.2 Tilt Detection
The basic function of this module is to detect the tilting of the hand and sending some binary data
against meaningful gestures, to the bend detection module. The output, which is obtained from the
accelerometers after amplification, is an analog output. To deal with this analog output, and to make it
useful for the further use, it is required to

Social Anxiety in Relation to Emotional Intelligence among adults
Several decades ago, researchers revealed new academic terms that is useful in studying human
behavior. Emotional intelligence and social anxiety concepts were developed from social contexts in
relation to psychology. The two concepts can be studied consecutively with a correlation created
between them. Emotional intelligence can be defined as the capability to manage and identify
individual emotions and those of other people (Bhochhibhoya Branscum, 2015). On the other hand,
Social anxiety is defined as the fear of interacting with people that creates a feeling of self
consciousness or being negatively judged (Blackhart, Williamson, Nelson, 2015). In other words, it

High social anxiety among adults is linked to poor self control or emotional intelligence especially
during interactions. Although the relationship between social anxiety and emotional intelligence has
been so far tested by few researchers, all of them have agreed on the correlation. Therefore, the current
study seeks clarify the correlation between social anxiety and emotional intelligence among adults.
Self control is very important among adults in the society but not everyone has its possession. It can
be termed as poor or good depending on the degree of self control. Social anxiety and emotional
intelligence can be tested in a conversation where the individuals engage each other in a natural
environment (Blackhart, Williamson, Nelson, 2015). It is important for adults to have self control

Emotions are considered one of the most important sources of information as well as facilitate the
processing of information among adults. Many psychologies researchers have agreed on most roles of
emotions in their interpretations guided by intelligence in a social conversation. Furthermore, they
agree that emotions influence the thought system of an individual and that of other people as well as
guide their actions. In addition to that, social anxiety is a basic element of human behavior since it
involves the failures and successes related to emotional intelligence. The use of emotions cannot be

14. Reaction Paper On Forgiveness
ChapterI
Introduction
Forgiveness
Generally, forgiveness is a decision to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge. The act that hurt
or offended us always remain a part of our life, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on you and help you
focus on other, more positive parts of your life. Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of
understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt us.
Forgiveness doesn t mean that we deny the other person s responsibility for hurting us, and it doesn t
minimize or justify the wrong. We can forgive the person without excusing the act. Forgiveness is a
process that involves a change in emotion and attitude regarding an offender. Most scholars view this
an intentional and voluntary process, driven by a deliberate decision to forgive. Theorists differ in the
extent to which they believe forgiveness also implies replacing the negative emotions with positive
attitudes including compassion and benevolence. In any event, forgiveness occurs with the victim s
full recognition that he or she deserved better treatment, one reason why Mahatma Gandhi contended
that the weak can never forgive. Adapted from Philpot, C. (2006). Intergroup apologies and

15. The Negative History Of Theatrical Makeup
Theatrical Makeup

Introduction
Phillipa Soo, an actress who played the leading lady in Hamilton, once stated, ..You put on your
character when you put on your makeup, when referring to theatre makeup, and she was completely
right. Whether the production is a small high school play or a large Broadway musical, theatrical
makeup is used to enhance features and create characters for the story being told. Theatrical makeup
has a long and intriguing history behind it. Depending on the show being performed, the makeup
could simply outline the features that the actor already possesses or the makeup may be used
dramatically, to create an animal or a paranormal entity. However the makeup is used, the health risks
should be taken into consideration to keep the actors safe from harm. Theatrical makeup is a complex
yet interesting topic because in order to use the makeup, one must understand the history, the different
application styles and the health risks involved.
History
Ancient Stage Makeup
Theatrical makeup was not always as nice and glamorous as the makeup of today. The earliest form of
theatre makeup documented was used by a Greek actor named Thespis, who painted a toxic covering
of white lead and mercuric sulphide on his face in order to stand out from the other actors (Finly, Amy.
History of Theatre Makeup). Most Greek plays were performed without any makeup, but Thespis
wanted to stand out from the crowd. A typical Greek play was put on while the actors used masks to
change character or facial expressions. Although contemporary performances include stage makeup,
the ancient masks from the Greek period remain as symbols of drama.
Similar to the Greeks, the actors from the Qing Dynasty also began by wearing masks to portray
characters, but later turned to makeup and paint. Peking Opera performers studied how the face looks
and the characteristics of the face in order to create the right expressions. They used brightly colored,
swirling designs of black, red, blue and white to express their stories (Cummings, T. History of
Makeup in Theater, 2017). Japanese Kabuki Theatre also utilized bright colors

16. The Respectable and Noble Actions of Gimpel Illustrated in...
Gimpel the Fool , by Isaac Bashevis Singer, tells the tale of a Jewish baker living in the traditional
Jewish village of Frampol. Raised an orphan, Gimpel never had anyone to stop him when others were
leading him into being fooled. As he grew up, his gullibility earned him the title the Fool , and the
entire village of Frampol referred to him as such. But was he truly the fool everyone made him up to
be? In his youth, Gimpel was picked on and made fun of for being easily fooled. Gimpel, however,
was rarely unaware of his peers intent. Gimpel simply preferred to avoid confrontation and simply let
them take advantage of [him] (96). This purposeful show of pacifism does not make Gimpel a fool,
but quite the opposite. And even though if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that the townspeople are tricking him, but once again he chooses to go along with it because if it was
true that the messiah had come and he didn t go out, he would have missed an immensely important
event. Then he would truly have been a fool. Then, after he visits the rabbinical court, the rabbi s
daughter tells him that it is the law to kiss the wall after every visit. Some may think Gimpel foolish
for kissing the wall, however, there is no harm in kissing it anyway, and it is more logical to just kiss it
than risk offending the rabbis and others. Then the villagers proposed to Gimpel that he marry Elka, a
woman known to be a prostitute as well as having borne a bastard child, whom the villagers said was
her younger brother. Gimpel was outraged and said that he would never marry that whore (97). Then
they accuse him of giving her a bad name and tell him that they ll take him to the rabbi and have him

17. Rhetorical Analysis Of Thomas Paine s The Crisis No. 1
Salema: The Crisis No. 1 is a 16 pamphlet series written by Thomas Paine in December of 1776
(Paine 86). It was a rather successful piece that argued for independence from England and described
the difficulties faced by the colonists because of Britain s tyranny. Paine was mostly targeting the
American patriots and trying to influence them to come together and fight for their independence. He
also included his idea of the colonies being free from British rule. Through his strong use of tone and
figurative language, he got the colonists to picture a tyranny free country.
There are many uses of rhetoric in The Crisis No. 1 . Paine uses a plentiful amount of logos in this
essay. He uses it to explain logically that the colonies would thrive if they were free from British rule.
He pairs his use of logos with lots of pathos. He tries to get the American patriots upset with the
British in order for them to be more willing to fight against them. For example, he uses pathos when
telling the story of the Tory tavern keeper who made a so called ignorant statement in front of his
child. The tone he used when speaking about the tavern keeper seemed almost furious! The impact of
his use of tone leaves the reader appalled. Similarly, he also uses pathos when he equates offensive
war to murder; ...I believe, could have induced me to support an offensive war, for I think it murder...
(Paine 90).
In conclusion, The Crisis No. 1 influenced many ideas in the American Revolution,

On February 28, 1993, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) raided the Branch
Davidian ranch in Mount Carmel, a rural area near Waco, Texas. The raid resulted in the deaths of four

used the Book of Revelation as his evidence of the spiral.
In 1992 a Texas newspaper began to run investigative reports that Koresh was abusing children at the
compound. Koresh openly advocated polygamy for himself and select members of the group. Koresh
claimed to be married to several of the female group members. People outside of the group began
claiming that they were a cult because of the authoritarian structure with Koresh being the all

was also entitled to take any female at anytime. Allegations that he fathered at least a dozen children

22. Batman And Beowulf Comparison
In the last 50 years, countless heroes have been created or shown through film. One of the most
interesting, modern, fictional heroes that we have seen is the Batman played by Christian Bale,
otherwise known as the Dark Knight in the Dark Knight series. Even after more than a thousand years
since the creation of the epic poem Beowulf, similar characteristics of the character Beowulf are still
seen in fictional heroes such as Batman. Although on the surface Beowulf and Batman seem very
different, many of their basic characteristics are very similar including their motivation, the people
that doubted them, their love for their homeland, and the personal sacrifices that they made for the
greater good. This juxtaposition is proof that humans throughout history have gone through the same
thought process when creating their heroes.

Beowulf proves him wrong. This aspect of both heroes definitely seems to be more complicated with
Batman. Instead of only one or a few people expressing serious doubt in Batman s ability, it is almost
the entire city that expresses concern. Batman only has a few people that believe in him including
Commissioner Gordon, Batman s butler Alfred, and a few citizens of Gotham. Despite their

24. The Physics Of Mechanical And Kinetic Energies
The mechanical, gravitational potential and kinetic energies (measured and average) showed trends
with the masses of the balls. The big ball (larger mass) possessed more mechanical, gravitational
potential and kinetic energy than the small ball (see summary table above) whereas the ball with the
smaller mass possessed less energy correspondingly (3.9976 0.4588, 1.2242 0.0428, 6.1853 1.2242).
This trend was consistent throughout all of the recorded results. This can be justified by the equations
of mechanical, gravitational potential and kinetic energy which all include mass meaning a larger
mass constitutes to more energy (see Background Information).

This is the mechanical energy. When the balls lose height, it loses potential energy but gains speed
(thus gaining kinetic energy). At halfway down (0.5m), half of the potential energy has been converted
to kinetic energy but the mechanical energy remains constant (see Equation 3: Mechanical Energy in
Background Information and graph above). This is because of the Law of Conservation of Energy;
energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted and transferred. Eventually, there is a complete
depletion of gravitational potential energy and only kinetic energy at 0m as all the gravitational
potential energy has been converted during free fall. Once in contact with the floor, the kinetic energy
converted to elastic potential (deformation), sound and heat energy, then back to kinetic energy when
bouncing and gaining gravitational potential energy as the height increased. The ball never goes back
up to the height it was dropped; it only bounces to a new peak which is lower than the original peak
height. This is because the Law of Conservation of Energy does not give the ball more kinetic energy
to bounce back up after the energy has been converted and lost to sound energy and heat energy whilst
hitting the ground (hence the boing sound it makes, which proves the Law of Conservation of
Energy). This alone proves the Law of Conservation of Energy, as the ball never bounces back to the
same peak. The ball should have a higher temperature than it originally

Latin America and Europe during the 1750 s. Voltaire believed that the society he lived in had many
flaws, which are often illustrated and satirized in Candide. Candide s journey portrays the flawed
human assumption that the grass is always greener on the other side as well as giving the reader an apt

27. Taking a Look at Pharmacists
Pharmacy is an essential part of modern day health care. Pharmacists today are well trained, highly
skilled and easily accessible to the public. However, pharmacy was not always as convenient and
advanced as it currently is today. Since the times of prehistoric man, pharmacy has evolved greatly
over the years and has become a safer, more efficient and more important part of society.
There are still many opinions about pharmacy s origin because many theories are based on logic and
analogies rather than concrete evidence. Much is known about prehistoric diseases due to the damage
of people s bodies found by archaeologists in ancient bones. However, finding evidence of early man
trying to use natural resources as medicinal drugs is scarce. Prehistoric man viewed the causes of
diseases as wraths from supernatural or spiritual beings. This caused our ancient ancestors to practice
a type of magic which used plants and often objects for rituals to make peace with evil and disease
causing spirits ( Kremers, 3).
The ancient people learned many things from instinct. Things like water, an herb or mud were most
likely man s first soothing applications. Trial and error helped man learn which substances brought the
best results and shared them with other people. The advanced profession of pharmacy most likely
evolved from simple and crude methods used by our ancient ancestors (A History 1).
The farthest date that pharmacy can be traced back to is about 4000 B.C. The Sumerian population

the high prevalence of osteoarthritis especially knee osteoarthritis identification of effective treatment
methods was an important factor in medical treatment of knee osteoarthritis. According to Arti and

The nature of their study was a prospective double blind randomized clinical trial study. Double blind

Henry II was King at this time and had developed a government system where he had professionals

was very institutionalized with royal officials administering both revenues and law. The king did not
have to be present much, in place, he had his officials do administrative work and record keeping. The
king traveled all throughout the European continent because he was able to, while his working
officials did his work in place. Henry II extended and strengthened the institutions of the English
government. He became king during a horrible civil war between two royal claimants. The chaos had
benefited the English barons and high churchmen, who gained new privileges and powers as the
monarchs authority waned (355). Henry II s father Henry had built new castles and when Henry II
took throne he confiscated the castles and regained the crown land. He then extended monarchical
power by imposing royal justice. He built it on an already well developed legal system. The Anglo
Saxon kings had royal district courts: the king appointed sheriffs to police the shires, muster military
levies, and haul criminals into court...to these established institutions, Henry II add a system of
judicial visitations called eyres (357). With proceeding this system, royal officials went all around

34. Examples Of Alienation In Ponthan Mada
In the film, Ormakalundayirikkanam, there is a scene which portrays the real life situation of a
Theyyam performer, moving away from the upper class people, he achieves an elated divine and
powerful status while performing the rituals. This contradiction where he is considered as a demi god
while performing and an outcaste in the society in other times, brings the real life situation of the low
caste in a feudal set up. In the same film, the director also represents the political reality of Kerala
Liberation Struggle of 1959 through the contradicting views of the Communist party and Congress
party. The parties perspectives on the Education Bill , Agrarian Relation Bill , and other associated
human rights violations along and their adverse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scene which shows the cart wheel and the water wheel moving in different directions signify the
contradictions in the world of feudal class and working class. In the same film, director has also used
the same technique to present the persona of the character Resmi, who is also a victim of alienation. In
Alicinte Aneshanam, the director uses these approaches to makes the protagonist understand the real
nature of her husband, and the perceived difference when looked from a familial perspective and non
familial perspectives, leads her to self realization. Through these binary oppositions, TV Chandran
persuades the women folk to come out of the family confinement to understand the reality, and to
overcome the alienation they are facing the society. In Mangamma, through the opposites, TV
Chandran portray the differences between idealism and the social reality, and women s struggle to

35. The Nature Of Violence In Grendel And Beowulf
War is an inescapable pattern in history. The world is constantly in a state of war. In America, we see a
war amongst ourselves with racism, discrimination, and hate crime. These wars seem meaningless,
and reveal that humans have an ingrained yearning for violence. While reading the novels Beowulf,
told from the perspective of a hero, and Grendel, told from the perspective of the monster, the innately
violent nature of humans becomes apparent. Throughout Beowulf and Grendel, killing and war are
common themes. Both novels feature violent scenes that show the cruel nature of humans. In Grendel,
the humans attack because they feel unsure about Grendel s motives and uneasy by his scary
appearance. When the humans went to war, they often expressed joy and would hold parties to
congratulate themselves for killing others (Heaney 35). Throughout the novel, Beowulf doings [of
murder] were praised over and over again (Heaney 57) by the citizens of his city. The positive
response to these brutal acts demonstrates the human wanting for violence. History demonstrates mans
violent tendencies. Jeffrey Goldstein, a psychologist at Temple University, says that We write and
teach our history in terms of violent events, marking time by wars (Kohn 1). We measure our
existence based on the violence we create. The climax of our histories is measured by the violence and
wars we endure. The non war periods during history are selective times of reporting (Kohn 1), where
we report violence

Unrecognizable men hold you at gunpoint and make you do tasks that they would never do

During the trial against Tom Robinson, Jem is always mumbling to himself and explaining his point of
view. He believes wholeheartedly in the case and its injustice. While Mr. Ewell is testifying, Scout
observes, Jem seemed to be having quite a fit. He was pounding the balcony rail softly, and once he
whispered, We ve got him (Lee 238). Unlike Scout, Jem understands everything that is going on at the
trial. He distinguishes the wrong that was committed, and because of it, he has lost his blissful
thinking. He cared so deeply about the trial that when the jury gave their verdict Jem s reaction was
that his Hands were white from gripping the balcony rail, and his shoulders jerked as if each Guilty
was a separate stab between them (Lee 282). He witnessed the unjust actions of the Ewells and he is
defeated after his father loses the first hearing. Jem bears the loss just as much as Atticus, and Jem
becomes distressed. In the article that reviews the book, Stress and Child Development, the author,
Ross Thompson writes, Children s early social experiences shape their developing neurological and

37. Police Enforcement And Community Policing
According to COPS and the U.S. Department of Justice, community policing begins with a
commitment to building trust and respect between police and communities. Many police department
and citizens within the communities collaborate and they more effectively address underlying issues,
change negative behavioral patterns, and allocate resources.
Bureau of Justice Statistics defines community policing as, A philosophy that promotes organizational
strategies, which support the systematic use of partnerships and problem solving techniques between
the police and the community. These situations address the immediate conditions that give rise to
public safety issues such as crime, social disorder, and fear of crime.
Some states also get grants to hire community policing professionals that develop nineteenth century
in the United States and England; the police have struggled with balancing the need to be efficient and
effective, while also being lawful (Walker 1994).
Police practice is indeed rooted in Western political philosophy, which emphasizes equity, fairness,
and justice (Critchley, 1967).
In 1974 the Kansas City Patrol Experiment demonstrated that increasing routine preventive patrol and
police response time had a very limited impact on reducing crime levels, allaying citizens fear of
crime, and increasing community satisfaction with police service community (Chaiken, Greenwood,
and Petersilia).

38. The Village Blacksmith, The Crowd Of Wild Olive
What is human dignity? We often ask ourselves this question as we grow up, experience things, and
know what is in the world. As we ask this question other questions arise as such, is it earned, invented,
or intrinsic? I believe it depends on the situation, but the following stories bring up each of these
questions and deliver different ways of delivering the ideas of human dignity being earned, invented,
or intrinsic. The Village Blacksmith, The Crowd of Wild Olive, Narrative of the life of Fredrick
Douglas all bring up these points and others as well as how different life situations relate to human
dignity.
The Village Blacksmith is a poem about a man that works very hard each day. He is dirty and sweaty
from his hard work. The characters arms are compared to a machine of sorts when the author says,
The smith a mighty man is he, With large and sinewy hands; And the muscles of his brawny arms Are
strong as iron bands. (596). Although rough, and hardworking the story shows that the man has human
dignity when he hears his daughter singing in church and it reminds him of his wife who has passed
away and begins to tear up. He wipes away his tears with his rough hard working hands. In my
opinion, this shows that even though a man is rough, hard working, and tough he can still have the
human dignity to mourn his late wife and have the emotion that comes from hearing his wife s voice
in his daughter, but still be able to work

Sometimes words cannot exactly explain what we want to convey, so we need a visual to support it. A
similar thing was observed in the article of Alan M. Dershowitz, he cleverly makes use of Ben Shah s
painting in the article to grab the attention of folks. The author writes about a murder case of a
paymaster and a guard of the South Braintree by Sacco and Vanzetti, both were Italian immigrant
anarchists. Surprisingly, the truth was not revealed that whether Sacco and Vanzetti were the killers
and this case is still unsolved. I agree with the author that the trials could not get to the fair results. I
believe that the painting is an ironic symbol of the justice. It silently expresses a lot what the text can

42. The Pros And Cons Of Haiti
Since 1994, Haiti has experienced seven major military and humanitarian interventions undertaken by
the United States of America (USA) and the United Nations (UN). These interventions are thought to
have helped Haiti develop economically and politically, but has this been the case? Despite the many
interventions, or perhaps because of them, Haiti is still the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere
and one of the poorest countries in the world. The country is overwhelmed with corruption, high
unemployment, high crime levels, and miserable economic prospects for its citizens. Looking at the
advantages and disadvantages of the interventions gives us a clearer picture of why Haiti is in such a
dismal state today.

44. Customer Service and Relationship Marketing
Customer Service
Customer service is an art and a science and it is something that many firms do not do well, let alone
perfect. Excellent customer service is defined by being pleasant with the customer and providing them
with assistance regarding just about anything and everything that they require and need relative to the
service or good that they are purchasing. A customer is any buyer or even potential buyer of the good
or service being and the customers need and/or expect that the good or service be reasonably price and
be delivered as promised based on what is advertised and/or what is commonly accepted and industry
standard about the good or service. The best way to build a customer focused strategy is to construct a
framework and process that is as common sense and stream lined as possible so that it addresses the
ongoing concerns of the business while at the same time reasonably helping and assisting the
customers get what they need out of the good or service. Going above and beyond what the customer
requires is always a plus and will engender good will and return visits by the customer, more often
than not (Swinburn, 2006)(Sheldrake, 1998)(Shaw Ivins, 2005).
Core Elements of Service Process
There are several major elements of the service process. These elements are strong leadership,
effective complaint handling, good training, good support for internal and external customers and
having a strong strategy that is definitively based on whether a good or service

45. The Altar By George Herbert
The Altar Analysis
The Altar by George Herbert is the first poem to appear in The Church. His poems are a record of his
private devotional life. In the poem The Altar , George Herbert creates an altar, which is also required
of Moses in the Bible. He makes the altar out of his heart and holds it together with his tears. No one
alters the tears from the way God made them. He puts his heart into this altar that he makes to praise
God. In the end, he wants God s sacrifice to be his, and for God to bless the altar that he built for him.
(Greenberg). This poem that is in the shape of an altar explains how it takes work from the heart to
build a relationship with God. In the poem The Altar , George Herbert uses allusions to scriptures, he
also uses symbolism, and his poem has two themes: religion and art. This poem by George Herbert
makes allusions to the scriptures in the Bible. In the first two lines of the poem, he talks about offering
a sacrifice to God. Herbert says A broken ALTAR, Lord, thy servant rears, Made of a heart and
cemented with tears; . These lines refer to the Old Testament Psalms 71:17 which states The Sacrifices
of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. (Bible Gateway)
In lines three and four Herbert writes Whose parts are as thy hand did frame; No workman s tool hath

God laid down about altars

Just like any other disease, crypto has some similar symptoms which includes watery diarrhea,
stomach cramps, upset stomach, slight fever and you begin to lose weight. These symptoms take 2 to
10 days till it actually begins to show after the person has been infected. The disease begins to weaken
your immune system just like AIDS/HIV which can lead to a life or death situation. Crypto can be
spread through contaminated drinks and food, as well as putting things in your mouth after being in
contact with bowel movement of another person or even an animal whom already has crypto. Not only
so, but the infection is originally caused by swallowing the parasite, when it is swallowed and the
parasite goes inside the intestine the parasite comes out of its shell, and begins to multiply. There are
drugs that can be used to reduce the symptoms, but there is no hundred percent drug treatment that
cures this disease. This drug is known as aminoglycoside antibiotic; it stops the growth of parasites
inside of the intestines [12]. If the individual whom have the infection of crypto still has a healthy
immune system and still have watery diarrhea they would be given IV fluids and antidiarrheal drugs,

48. Cultural Influence Of The Early Medieval Era
Exam 2: Cultural Influence One prominent theme that has been encountered throughout this course
has been the idea of influence from one culture to another; a cultures influence on another can impact
things such as stylistic transition, and transfer of subject matter. The combination of local traditions
and newly introduced ideas will allow for new types of artwork to be produced. Artwork during the
Early Medieval era, Romanesque era, and Gothic era demonstrates how local and imported ideas
intermingle to produce new things. In order to fully express the idea of cultures integrating local ideas
with ideas of other cultures to form new artworks, focusing specifically on architecture will allow for
the theme to be fully justified. During the dynamic Early Medieval era, which dates back to 500 1000
BCE, European identity was developed and stimulated by Europeans interactions with other cultures
in Eurasia and the Mediterranean. During the Early Medieval era early Christian basilicas such as
Santa Sabina and San Paolo fuori le Mura (St. Paul s Outside the Walls) maintained the basic structure
of the Roman basilica, and incorporated local ideas, which include added Christian elements such as
the transept and the ambo. The Romanesque era is the art of Europe from approximately 1000 AD to
the rise of the Gothic style in the 13th century. Romanesque architecture retained many basic features
of Roman architectural style, which include round headed arches, vaults, apses, and

49. Examples Of Editing In Run Lola Run
The 1998 German film Run Lola Run interestingly told three separate narratives of the same story and
characters. Each of the narratives began the same way, however each one saw a slight temporal or
behavioral difference in the lives of Lola and Manni, which caused drastically different outcomes for
each of the separate realities. The film followed Lola and Manni s journey to acquire one hundred
thousand dollars to make up for Manni s loss of the money to his drug dealer. The same story was told
three separate times, and each story illustrated slight changes in the characters timelines that
drastically shifted the outcome of their situations. Through the use of editing, the film was able to
jump through time and space and clearly portray the transition from one run to the next. The film also
had a fast rhythm that captured the frantic nature and peril of Lola and Manni s situation, with
innovative editing techniques such as showing the two shots of Manni and Lola side by side.
Altogether, the transitions were effective in telling the story with a unique, and clear sequencing
pattern that made sense and contributed to the thrilling atmosphere of the film. Editing determines the
duration of a shot and Run Lola Run illustrated several types of editing including freeze frames, jump
cuts, and dissolve cuts that allowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
