Mengzi Human Nature
Many people have different views about human nature. Some believe we tend to be good, others evil,
and some even believe we can be neutral. Mengzi is more optimistic about humanity. He believes our
nature is to be good. It is a belief he holds up throughout each book. Even though some like Gaozi,
believe differently. But through all that we still can t have a certain answer, it all depends on your own
beliefs, be it religiously or morally.
Mengzi claims that by nature humans are inherently good. We don t have an evil side until
circumstances create it. Humans will always be good until our situations change us. Furthermore, as
for their becoming not good, this is not the fault of their potential... (Mengzi 6A6 147 148). It is only

Either you can choose to be immoral and wicked, or you can let your circumstances choose for you.
The office of the heart is to reflect. If it reflects, then it will get [Virtue]. If it does not reflect, then it
will not get it (Mengzi 6A15 151). You have to actively seek out to be good. By forgetting about
benevolence and righteousness you abandon them. In turn that forces you to go to the bad side. Being
good and virtuous may come naturally, but we have to work to keep those values within us.
Abandoning them is abandoning your nature. This makes it easier for you to forsake your character
and embrace immorality. If you are besieging [your nature] day by day, can it remain beautiful?...
Others see that he is a bird or a beast, and think that there was never any capacity there (Mengzi 6A8
149). It is easier to be a bad person than it is to be good, but ultimately it is our bad moments that we
regret the most. Those will be the things that haunt us forever, and make us suffer with guilt. Being
good to everyone, is a harder task but it is well worth it. We are inherently good, but we have to work
to stay good and

What Is The Impact Of New Materials On Product Deisng In...
The Impact of New Materials on Product Deisng in 20th and 21st Centuries
As new materials are developed and processed, design technologists and people working with
industrial materials must think how these new materials will affect the way in which they design and
manufacture products. Design technologists also have to be conscious of how these materials effect
the environment and the way in which they are recycled. In Today s industry products are increasingly
being made from composite materials. Composite materials are formed by combining two or more
materials that have different properties. The different materials work together to give ... Show more

A wood based material such as chipboard is created by taking wood particles (flakes, chips and
shavings) from all commercial timbers, bonded with synthetic phenolic resin. This type of wood is
also a type of composite. Composite timber products have many advantages over ordinary timbers
such as Oregon. They can utilise smaller dimensions of timber as the raw material, but can be
manufactured to create large dimension composite beams and sheets, etc. Less timber overall is
required to make products which are lighter and stronger than timber. Lower quantities and smaller
sizes of timber means less pressure on native forest timber. Prices of imported timbers will continue to
rise which will continue to make composites a more attractive proposition for builders and designers.
The real disadvantage to manufactured wood based woods is the chemical fumes that it emits (M.D.F
is a banned material in the U.S.A). Due to the resins used into making the wood once being cut at high
speeds the dust can lead to intoxication of chemical fumes. The other major disadvantage is the non
grain finish. Although M.D.F has a smooth finish and for some products this is ideal, other products
are designed for a grain finish. Another material that has made a major impact in modern

The Impact of Religion on the Development of Colonial America
Compare the ways in which religion shaped the development of colonial society (to 1740) in TWO of
the following regions: New England Chesapeake Middle Atlantic The Impact of Religion on the
Development of Colonial America During the seventeenth century, colonial America was welcoming
many newcomers, several from England. Quantities of these newcomers were seeking land for
economic purposes as others were longing for religious toleration. Many of the English colonists
settled in the New England region for religious freedoms, to escape the English king, and leave
adversaries of other religions behind. Settlers who resided in the Middle Atlantic region were affected

Economically, a large amount of money was spent on building new churches and financial aid was
given to ministers. Massachusetts was the first colony to tax residents to support the Congressionalist
Church. Also, during the Great Awakening, churches were making attempts to return those individuals
who roamed away from the church. The Great Awakening was a revival caused by Jonathon Edwards
during the enlightenment time period. The purpose of this revival was to inspire communities to
become more religiously involved as pastors were feeling distant from god because of the lack of
interest in religion at the time. The Great Awakening undermined the Old Clergy and increased both
the number and competiveness of churches. Thousands of books were published and sold to bring the
churches profit and therefore allowed more money to aid in the churches construction. Socially,
religion brought people together. People of the same religion often worked better together which
resulted in a stronger and closer community. Schools were developed for children to learn to read the
bible and to teach young men leadership. In the New England region, dominance was shown with an
impressive number of graduates, greatly excelling the southern colonies. Religion was so vital to these
early colonists that it greatly affected social development, schooling, and even various basic rights we
take for granted today. In Colonial America, one must have been a member

Using Qualitative And Qualitative Research
The authors argue that mixed methods sampling with well established qualitative and quantitative

Endgame Research Paper
Samuel Beckett s Endgame at first glance appears to be a peculiar play about four characters in an
unusual and seemingly post apocalyptic setting. Yet, upon further investigation, it is apparent that
Beckett uses the play s strange and isolated environment to expound upon and investigate humans will
to live. Though the play is marked by a lack of significant plot development, Beckett employs the
relationships between characters and certain reoccurring ideas to establish a seemingly bleak and
depressing environment in which the characters fight for their existence. In particular, each character
is stuck in a daily unchanging routine, which confirms their existence and gives their lives meaning.
There is also a preoccupation with death by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Similarly, Nagg uses the story of his past to alleviate the immense emotional burden of living in a
depressing world, which allows him to more effectively cope with his miserable life and resist being
consumed by the darkness that surrounds him. This in turn allows him to oppose death. It is interesting
to note that both routines imply that the characters actively resist death and in doing so choose to
continue living in a world where they are encircled by sadness. This is a surprisingly positive message
of humans intense desire to live in a play that is predominately focused on death and the wickedness

the concept of remotely monitoring patients is not new but recently a lot of attention has been placed
on smart wearable body sensors (SWS). Therefore, these devices contain an assortment of different
sensors which can be used to monitor variables and transmit data either to a personal device or to a
storage site. The variety of the sensors can be attributed to the types of stimuli that they respond to, for
an example, physiological vital signs, body movements, and organic substances and their placements
clothing, subcutaneous implant, body part accessory, and many more. These devices have the
opportunity to meet the patients needs by administering information in real time to the patient s
smartphone, computer or other wireless devices and has the potential to influence their behaviours.
The sensors allow patients to self monitor, track, and assess human physiological data, while also
providing interfaces and a dashboard for healthcare providers. These sensors are easily managed and
are becoming increasingly accurate and reliable for patient care. The SWS s can also be utilized as a

Pros And Cons Of King Cobra
The dense forest is wet and hot, and tensions are rising. A small Indian gray mongoose, no bigger than
a cat, is choosing to fearlessly challenge a humongous king cobra, which can potentially grow to
record breaking lengths. The winner seems obvious, but both sides have several advantages, and there
have been studies about this question. There are seemingly endless possibilities of what could happen.
However, if an Indian grey mongoose and a king cobra were to engage in a fight, then I believe that
the mongoose would win because of so many advantages. Many support the mongoose, and many
support the cobra. Either way, there are many pieces of evidence that support the mongooses many
advantages. To begin, the mongoose has great attacking abilities ... Show more content on

That is very true, but easily disproven. Klum (2001) states that the cobra can produce startling
amounts of neurotoxin. However, the mongoose has thick fur, and the cobra has short fangs, so
injecting the cobra s toxic venom will be a challenge. According to Campbell (2015), cobras can
flatten their necks into a hood when threatened. However, the mongoose has the ability to fight
snakes, so it will know what the cobra is doing. Klum (2001) also states that the cobra can stand up
like a man in a terrifying pose. That is correct, but to the mongoose, size does not matter. It will
fearlessly go up against even the biggest, most intimidating snakes as if it were the size of itself. The
mongoose easily matches up with three of the cobras deadliest advantages. To conclude, many pieces
of evidence show that in the epic battle of cobra versus mongoose, the mongoose would win, no
contest because the cobra cannot even compare to the amazing mongoose. At this point, it is obvious
that if an Indian grey mongoose and a king cobra were to engage in a fight, the mongoose would win
because of all of its advantages. Now we all know that a tiny mongoose can beat and kill a ferocious
cobra, proving that size does not matter, in most scenarios, at

North Carolina Biodiversity Loss
Two words that can summarize the effects of climate change, over population, global warming, and
deforestation is biodiversity loss. Biodiversity is the variety of life on the Earth or in an ecosystem.
Biodiversity loss happens all over the world and continues to this day which can bring a major disaster
to life. Biodiversity loss in North Carolina started when humans overpopulated the environment and
brought over new species from oversea. As humans continue to grow and expand their own lands and
needs upon the rich and mysterious environment the biodiversity of the ecosystem started to diminish.

late of 2016 in November was the wildfire. This wildfire spread over nearly 50,000 acres of forest and
human habitants. Because of human stupidity, many other humans and animals lost their homes due to
this fire (WBTV, 2016). The loss of biodiversity that occurred in the wildfire was uncertain, but on
logical terms, many animals were killed and plants were burned to death. Both humans and animal s

National Identification Card Won t Work
The debate on National Identification card has restarted since the terrorists attacked the World Trade
Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. The issue of introducing the National Identification
Card came into people s view after a long time hoping that it would reduce the danger of terrorism in
the future. United States is not the only one country who is introducing the National Identification

But the National Identification card will have some biometrics data like finger print, retinal Scan, iris
scanning which people thinks that it would be hard to forge. Using biometrics data such as fingerprints
and retina scan can help in verifying that the card actually belongs to the cardholder (Clement). More
likely people are thinking about introducing the smart card which when swiped will show all the
information like where you are and what you are doing while smart cards are among the most secure
technologies available.
National ID card could combine the functions of a driver s license, social security registration,
immigration documents, and other government issued identification so that it would be easier to carry
just one card instead of all these form of identification. Once the card is issued then every individual is
required to carry and present an officially issued ID card when asked, and it would also be required to
get particular services. If the card cannot be presented on demand then that person would be regarded
with suspension. If the person who forgot or lost the card falls under the minority group then the
person becomes a suspect and might get some kind of charges or might even go to jail.
National security is good but not at the cost of personal freedom (Dye). Demanding ID card at any
time will be considered as the freedom

Napoleon Hero or Tyrant?
Napoleon Bonaparte goes down in history as one the greatest military commanders of all time. Many
consider him a hero of the French people and the people of the conquered lands spreading his reforms
everywhere. Others believe that he is a tyrant, oppressing citizens and engaging in aggressive
unnecessary wars. This is a controversial topic and both sides can bring up compelling arguments.
First we must define a hero and tyrant, a hero is someone who is courageous, brave and positively
impacts people around him and leaves a legacy. Napoleon directly fits that definition. A tyrant is a
cruel oppressive ruler who treats people unfairly. Napoleon Bonaparte leaves a heroic legacy due to
the actions in his life such as being a brave and courageous soldier, furthering public works in France

crumbling government. He organized a coup d etat, overthrew the government and rose to power. He
heroically crowned himself emperor. He won over the people s trust after being victorious at his first
battle by driving the british out of Toulon. Napoleon was fair and set up a consulate, a three man

Small Scale Tummy Tuck
What is a small scale tummy tuck? Authoritatively called a halfway abdominoplasty, a smaller than
usual tummy tuck just expels undesirable skin and fat from the territory underneath the navel. This
kind of strategy has generously expanded in notoriety. A full tummy tuck, by complexity expels skin
and fat from the whole stomach region. A small scale tummy tuck is a decent choice if there is not a
considerable measure of overabundance skin to expel, and the patient is keen on minimizing a
protruding lower stomach area.
After pregnancy, the lower abs, or rectus abdominus muscles are extended and the laxity may remain,

gifted and unexposed to various groups of people, Sheldon s communication style has been a difficult

feels superior through the groups he belongs to. On countless occasions Sheldon can be caught
making fun of his friend Howard who is an engineer from MIT, Penny who is a simple waitress at the
Cheesecake Factory and other colleagues from his workplace. However, upon meeting Amy, Sheldon
begins to transition from his predisposed mindset to a more accepting one. This can be attributed to
Sheldon altering his spiritual self and finally knocking down barriers that were due to association by
similarity (Adler, 6). At first, Sheldon only wanted to communicate with people like himself because
his attitudes reflected that anyone unlike him was unworthy. However, through interacting with Amy,
her influence of biology (which he previously determined as a worthless field) accompanied by her
choice of friends (Bernadette and Penny) creates a major impact on Sheldon. He becomes able to
speak with people unlike himself and portray respect for their field, even if deep down he doesn t care.
Being able to present a social self that displays respect even if your beliefs are different shows that
you are in control of your communication and dialogue. That may seem like very little progress

How reaganomics and first gulf war affected the lives of Americans
Reaganomics is also known as trickle down economics. It consists of various economic policies that
were suggested by President Ronald Reagan during his presidency. He believed that investing in the
top echelon of society, or cutting taxes to corporations, would lead to growth of corporations as they
will make more money and thus hire more employees
The Reaganomics was summed up into several parts;

Different people had different views towards the deregulation policy. Some thought it was ideal, and
they advocated an increase in privatizing industries. The second school of thought believed that
Reaganomics eliminated safeguards from industries that increased corporate greed in the society.
(Blanchard 1987)
The poorer were seen to be suppressed by these policies as compared to the wealthy and these in
general reduced people s saving abilities. However, there was a tremendous fall in both unemployment
rate and interest.
As much as some of the policies laid out in the Reaganomics had negative effects, it is seen to have a
couple of positive ideas that result in a workable plan that would eventually help Americans. PART

Aristophanes’ Clouds a Satyr Play Written in 419 BCE
Aristophanes Clouds, if read hastily, can be interpreted as a mindless satyr play written in 419 BCE.
Yet the chorus warns the reader not to expect the play to have farcical ploys like a hanging phallus
stitched on the actors to evoke a laugh, but to take note of underlying seriousness as she [the play]
comes in trusting only her words (Clouds 538 44). Even if the play does use some low devices, the
play s message is sophisticated and can be read as a warning to Socrates. Aristophanes is a friendly
critic of Socrates and warns Socrates to change his ways for Athens and for the good of himself
(Whidden). Plato s Symposium and especially his Apology of Socrates does not discount the claims

Socrates counters Meletus s weaker claim by asserting that he believes in Diamonic matters, so then
there is also a great necessity that I [Socrates] believe in diamonia (Apology 27c). Diamons are not
exactly defined. Scholars have debated this point, and one interpretation would be that they seem to be
a being half divine and half human (Apology footnote 37). Socrates uses them as an example of gods
that he believes in, but he refers to them as a separate entity later in this same speech. They are
referred to as a voice that Socrates hears, not unlike a conscience, that turns me [Socrates] away from
whatever I am about to do, but never turns me forward (Apology 31d). Socrates uses that as the reason
why he never got into politics, as the majority rule is usually against his own code of morals (31d).
Socrates is not exactly godless or immoral for he would not condemn a group of prisoners without
trying them separately. His whole care is to commit no unjust or impious deed (32d). Socrates may
have moral standards, but perhaps his followers would not. This leads into the charge that he corrupts
the youth, for if Socrates can question the gods, they can too. Athenians acted out of fear of heavenly
retribution, not morals (Whidden). Those youth found it acceptable to do whatever they wanted
because of the apparent lack of gods and thunderbolts coming down from the heavens to smite those
who deserve justice. Clouds Socrates argues, If in fact he

Antoine Lavoisier Research Paper
Why Lavoisier is famous:
Antoine Lavoisier revolutionized chemistry. He named the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen;
discovered oxygen s role in combustion and respiration; established that water is a compound of
hydrogen and oxygen; discovered that sulfur is an element, and helped continue the transformation of
chemistry from a qualitative science into a quantitative one. He created a new form of nomenclature
which is the skeleton of today s Periodic Table, and he famously proved the theory of phlogiston
incorrect and replaced it with the law of conservation of mass and his theory of oxygenation (Holmes,
introduction).

Causes Of The Opium Wars
The Opium Wars were a series of conflicts that eventually led to China s decline through the trade and
abuse of the drug opium. The first of the Opium Wars (1839 42) was fought between China and
Britain, and the second war (1856 1860) involved France as well. In both wars, the foreign powers
triumphed over China, causing havoc, causing the fall of the Qing dynasty. Prior to the Opium Wars,
China was full of rich culture, remarkable goods, and useful inventions. They had invented
gunpowder, kites, and porcelain, all of which were in demand. The Qing dynasty had believed that
they were superior to other countries, and refused to let any foreigners access any Chinese territory.

The amount of people using the drug soon increased as well due to the large amount of opium that
soon became available throughout the country. The addictive nature also began to cause people to
want, or even need, more and more of the drug, ensuring that it would be a continuous market for
Britain. The amount of addicts skyrocketed to 12 million at one point, which soon led to a ban on the
drug by Lin Zexu, commissioner of China. Zexu arrested dealers, seized crates of the drug, and then
dumped 2.6 million pounds of it into the ocean. This was another cause for the opium war, as his
actions angered British traders who were not able to get compensation from the British government.
Overall, China s strict trading techniques, in addition to the way they responded to the problem was
one of the main causes of the opium wars. Another main cause for the opium wars was China s unfair
trade superiority. Prior to the opium wars, China was the leading trade nation for the world, with its
long distance trade reaching many different area of the world, such as Southern Asia, the Middle East,
and even Europe. China had the most commercial ships out of anybody in the world up to the 19th
century, which helped expand its already large economy. China s goods were in high demand, as they
had paper, firearms, tool, silk, tea, porcelain, and much more, making them the world s superpower for

health, was founded in France in 1902 by Georges Claude and Paul Delorme. Shortly after acquiring
investments from 24 shareholders within a short period, their incredible journey began (in text
citation). Today, they operate on a global scale, present in over 80 countries (in text citation). To focus
primarily on Air Liquide s activities based in the United States and Canada over the past 25 years,
interviews were conducted with the following employees of the multi billion dollar corporation; Mr.
Gabriel Constantin, Mr. Slim Naanaa, Mr. M. Sundar, Mr. Benjamin Jurcik and a retired employee
who wished to remain anonymous. Their insight on their employer was very uniform regardless of the
department they work or have worked under, which perfectly illustrated the culture and overall values
instilled throughout the company. It became clear that all informants believed that constant innovation
within a company is crucial to maintain a substantial advantage over its competitors.
According to our retired informant, Air Liquide promoted their company on an international scale for
only the past 25 years by focusing on finding new purpose for the gas to improve consumers
processes. He explains that one of the main goals of research and development is to pursue related
diversification. As an example, our informant described the process by which fibreglass is made.

Women s Magazines Are Littered With Beauty Advertisements
Women s magazines are littered with beauty advertisements. On one page, a mascara ad promises
thick and long lashes as a symmetrically faced woman holds the wand to her eyes. Her skin is pore
less and she appears mechanical.. Turn the page and an actress/model stands with legs the
circumference of an arm. She is modeling jeans, yet they are barely on her body. This kind of
advertising does not end at the actual advertisements. The truth is that the magazine itself is an
advertisement of its reader s inadequacy. Furthermore, the magazine as a whole serves as an
advertisement to a woman s assumed lack of confidence. Almost every product featured in popular
women s magazines is a paid placement. It s no secret that magazine publications are struggling as
more consumers migrate to online platforms. Without subscriber funding, publications are forced to
fund their company in various ways similar to how a person will work many jobs in order to pay rent.
Paid promotional articles and features fill this gap created by declining subscribers. This makes all of
the adverts and all of the articles about fat loss and shiny hair even more trivial and unsubstantial. This
issue could be excused, but it remains hard to ignore considering how much lack of diversity factors
into this nook of the publication world. Cosmopolitan s slogan is Fun. Fearless. Female. which
indicates that it is geared towards an audience of women that is young and old, multi racial, thick or
thin. The contents

J.K. Rowling in the Macabre Genre The life of experiences of J.K. Rowling influenced her to write in

Edvard Munch The Scream Meaning
Art has evolved over millennia of years to become what it is now. However, what is the exact element
that people speak of when they say the word: art? The first known use of the word art was during the
13th century, making it quite a recent word, and it comes from the latin word ars meaning skill or
craft. Through this, one might see that art is something that is created, such as a painting or sculpture.
Be that as it may, art has evolved to fit many definitions, and definitions are simply the opinions,
widespread as they are, of those that wrote the dictionaries that many follow to this day. It is my belief
that art is more than a creation made by one, but an experience, or an emotion felt when seeing or
hearing the creation. To begin, many people respond differently to different types of art. This is
because artists allow for the viewer to judge what they see for themselves rather than force one idea
onto the masses. The Scream by Edvard Munch to many people can represent the anguish and
complexity of life and all of the choices that accompany it. However, others may see it as simply a
face of surprise when encountering startlement. It does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Music is a simple example of this. Many people have a collection of songs that they listen to when

Thunderstruck by ACDC or Renegade by Styx has a different experience than that felt by The I Love

that they want to listen to based off of their emotions. The art compels one to be influenced into

She is actually a complex character which the filmmakers use to highlight various concepts of popular
and sociological culture. Firstly she is shown to be a woman who is judged by those around her
because of how she looks and how she has a knack for behaving erratically. She is even judged by the
women who she works with as they consider her nothing short of White Trash because of how she
dresses and because of the mess her personal life is in. Secondly, they construct the concept of an
individual s capability regardless of their gender and class through Erin s character. She does not have

Female Characters In Joseph Conrad s Heart Of Darkness

In the novella Heart of Darkness, the seemingly minor characters of the mistress and the intendant
play the most important roles of the novella written by Joseph Conrad.
The three seemingly simple female characters in Heart of Darkness, Marlow s aunt, the Intendent, and
the African Mistress, give more meaning to the main characters and the text as a whole through Joseph
Conrad s use of meaningful suggestions, symbols, and contrasts.

The three women in the novella are not mentioned often and have even less thoughts of their own;

Margarete Steiff made toy animals out of felt scraps in a small factory owned by her family. Her

bear to scare children, so she modified the bear s features. She used brown mohair to create a bear

Essay On Inherit The Wind
The battle between the relationship of science and religion has always been a controversial topic in
society. It has been a subject of study since the classical era from scientists, theologists, philosophers,
and regular citizens. It is understandable that the perspective on culture and religion are
unquestionably varied due to different geographical regions, but why are there so many heated debates
regarding the global discussion and what is it that causes those controversies? Is it possible that there
is more than two outlooks and theories? Jerome Lawrence and Robert E.Lee contrasts the two
perspectives in Inherit the Wind by bringing back an historical and legendary trial. Matthew Harrison
Brady, an established lawyer in America demonstrates his ideology in God. Addition to Mr. Brady, his
arch nemesis, Henry Drummond, defends his morals by expressing his vision that evolution is where

Regulations And Legislation Of Safe Working Practices
Regulations and legislation in safe working practices are needed because they enforce safety in the
workplace. Safety in a workplace is important because it helps to keep employees from getting injured
or worse. An example of relevant health and safety legislations include the Health and Safety Work
Act of 1974. The Health and Safety Work Act is an act of parliament and it is used to put a duty on all
employers to ensure health, safety and welfare of their employees while at work. The Health and
Safety Work Act is also responsible for a variety of things at work including; safe use and storage of
hazardous substances, good training for all employees and safe access to the workplace. However, if
the Health and Safety work act 1974 was not in place then this would put the health, safety and
welfare of employees at work at risk because they might not have had the correct training for their
position or the incorrect storage of hazardous chemicals may have released harmful fumes this could
affect them through inhaling the fumes and depending on the chemical depends on the harm it could
do to you.
Material datasheets are used in a workplace because they contain information on the potential hazards
to health and how you can work safety with chemical products. The datasheets contains information
on the use, storage and the procedures in an emergency when using hazardous materials but the

Describe The Relationship Between Samsov And Gumbinnenkampf
On August 26, 1914, the German 8th Army, under the leadership of Paul von Hindenburg and Erich
Ludendorff, strikes with lethal force against the advancing Russian 2nd Army, led by General
Aleksandr Samsonov, in East Prussia during the opening weeks of the First World War.
In the middle of August 1914, much sooner than had been anticipated, Russia sent two armies into
East Prussia, while Germany, according to its war strategy, had the bulk of its forces concentrated to
the west, against France. The Russian 1st Army, under General Pavel Rennenkampf, advanced to the
northeastern corner of East Prussia, while Samsonov s 2nd Army made headway into the southwest,
planning to join with Rennenkampf s men and pin the outnumbered German 8th Army between them.

Rennenkampf, the Germans were able to take Samsonov s army by surprise with the force of their

the attack had given Samsonov s forces more time to advance deeper into the sack formed by the
German divisions enveloping them from both sides, the strength of which Samsonov consistently

Margaret Thatcher is a household name in England for many reasons. The chief reason is because she

world at this time. Corseted waists. petticoats, and white powdery wigs were extremely famous during
the 18th century. One of the most famous garments women wore were panniers, undergarments worn

Reflection Paper On Sonography
Have you ever imagined an experience would turn out a certain way, only to have it completely
surprise you? That is exactly what happened to me when I arrived at Genesis Hospital for my
observation in imaging with a sonographer. While I was expecting a certain scenario for that
experience, I was soon brought to the realization you truly cannot predict any situation you have never
encountered before. I was very excited to have the opportunity to observe the career I am planning on
having; however, that excitement turned into surprise as I gained a valuable experience.
After being informed our next paper due would be based on an observation, I started making calls to
hospitals in the area I live. I was happy to receive a call back from one of them stating I would be
allowed to observe an ultrasound technician. I was very excited as I thought it was fantastic I would

my observation I was anxious, imagining what I was going to experience the following day. Excited, I
tried my best to sleep while anticipating what I was going to encounter the next afternoon.
Dressed in scrubs and excited to begin, I arrived at the hospital around noon. With an eager smile
pasted on my face, I informed the receptionist in the imaging department that I was there for a
scheduled observation. Happy to assist me, she asked me to follow her to one of the occupied rooms.

deciding what type of mortgage will best meet your needs. In today s mortgage market, the types of
mortgages available to you can be divided into two categories, adjustable and fixed interest rate
mortgages.
Before discussing the benefits and pitfalls of each mortgage type, let s recap their primary differences.
A fixed rate mortgage is a mortgage where the rate and the monthly mortgage payments are fixed to a

however, is a mortgage where the rate can fluctuate throughout the life of the loan. Because the rate in

The benefit of an ARM to you is that the short term interest rate on an ARM is typically lower than the

and will cost you less. The danger of an ARM, however, is that if your plans change and you have to
stay in your home for more than 5 years, the ARM s interest rate can suddenly change after the 5 year
adjustment period, possibly making your monthly mortgage payment much higher and burdensome.

Speech On Becoming A Firefighter
Becoming a firefighter requires specific qualities such as strength, endurance, and bravery. Those who
inspire to become a firefighter must devote their time and well being to those in crisis. A firefighter
does not just hang around the station all day, instead you will have to field many calls. When you are
not working you will have to be helping out around the station. The station does not just stay clean
itself you will be assigned chores and duties you will have to follow. Being in physical shape is also a
main part of being a firefighter.
Now there is also types of fires firefighters need to know about. The first type of fire there is class A
fire. A class A fire are the most ordinary and basic type of fire. They are ordinary combustible fires
like wood, paper, cloth, trash, and plastics. Class B fires are caused by flammable liquids. Flammable
liquids for example are things like gasoline, petroleum oil, and paint. Class B fires also include
flammable gases. The gases that are in class B are things like propane and butane. Some people might
mistake fires caused by cooking oils and grease as a class B but that is not true at all they are not
considered in the category. Class C fires involve electrical equipment. Electrical equipment such as
motors not just car motors, transformers, and appliances. If you remove the power from any of the
things listed it will no longer be able to be consider as a class C fire it will get reclassified as a

Basic Element of Just in Time
Basic elements of Just In Time
The basic elements of Just In Time (JIT) were developed by Toyota in the 1950 s, known as the
Toyota Production System (TPS). JIT was well established in many Japanese factories by the early
1970 s. JIT began to be adopted in the U.S. in the 1980 s (General Electric was an early adopter), and
the JIT/lean concepts are now widely accepted and used. There have ten basic elements in Just In time
which are flexible resource, efficient facility layout, pull production system, Kanban production
control, small lot production, quick setup, uniform production, quality at the source, total production
maintenance and supplier network.
1. Flexible Resources
The Concept of flexible resources, in the form of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Small lots with shorter setup times reduced from hour to minuet and it s increase flexibility to respond
to demand changes. Shingo as a genius at the task reduced setup time on a 1000 ton press from 6

in separate internal setup from external setup. Its also can convert internal setup to external setup.
Besides that, it can streamline all aspect of setup and perform setup activities in parallel or eliminate
them entirely. 7. Uniform Production
JIT attempt to maintain uniform production levels by smoothing the production requirements on the
final assembly line. Changes in final assembly always have dramatic effects on component production
upstream. When this happen in kanban , kanban for certain part will circulate very quickly at some
times and very slowly at others. Kanban systems can handle +/ 10% demand changes. One way to
reduce variability in production is to guard against unexpected demand through more accurate
forecasts. Another approach to achieving uniform production is to level or smooth demand across the
planning horizon. Demand is divided into small increments of time so that the same amount of each
item is produced each day and item is mixed throughout the day in small quantities. 8. Quality at the
Source
Quality has to be extremely high to ensure JIT system to work well. Jidoka is the authority to stop

Comparing Augustine And Free Will
Paul saw sin as any act that violated God s law, whether that be by nature or literal and physical law. It
was evident that Paul believed that whoever sinned without out the law will perish without the law
(Romans 2:12). He also discusses that those without the law, such as Gentiles, would do law with
what is written in their hearts, their conscience testifying (Romans 2:15). To avoid sin, one can either
follow the law through the legal system, or you can understand the law through one s faith/relationship
with God; either path would hopefully allow someone to avoid sin as much as possible. While Paul
does believe that humans can minimize how much they sin, he does not believe that they escape it all

become self sufficient and more knowledgeable. Their undue exaltation (Augustine XI.13), such as
their desire to become self sufficient and knowledgeable like God, allowed them to choose the
wrongly directed path that God has not intended, therefore resulting in the first sin. Lastly, Augustine
also explains how he believes that free will and the body are two distinct things. In fact, Augustine
describes lust (Augustine XI.16) as a type of wrongly directed will that is common among humans,
but explicitly states how this will takes possession of the whole body and moves the whole man
(Augustine XI.16) into bodily pleasures. It is important for Augustine to make this distinction about
the will, because he wants to show how humans still have the opportunity to choose a rightly directed
will, instead of always thinking and/or acting with a wrongly directed

Point of View in Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill Essay
The narrator in the story Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield, is telling us this story in the third person
singular perspective. Our narrator is a non participant and we learn no details about this person, from a
physical sense. Nothing to tell us whether it is a friend of Miss Brill, a relative, or just someone
watching. Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill comes alive from the descriptions we get from this
anonymous person. The narrator uses limited omniscience while telling us about this beautiful Sunday
afternoon. By this I mean the narrator has a great insight into Miss Brill s perceptions, thoughts,
feelings, and into her world as a whole, but no real insight into any of the other characters in this story.
By using this point of view, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The details as told, seem to be coming directly from Miss Brill at times. The narrator gets us settled
into the park with Miss Brill and tells us that she sees those around her as odd, silent, nearly all old,
and from the way they stared they looked as though they d just come from dark little rooms or even
even cupboards! This tells me that Miss Brill sees herself differently than she sees others, not odd or
funny. She is a part of all this life and activity at the park! An actor in the grand play and somebody
would have noticed if she hadn t been there. She really loved to be out with others and thought that
she was very much a part of the world and not apart from it. Don t we all feel this way? Some people
are truly introverted and care little of interacting, but I think the majority of us strive to become part of
the world and at times feel like this life is one big drama and we have a big part. Our role might only
be important for one scene, but we feel like the leading man or woman at times. The narrator leads us
to what appears to be a fitting climax; a crescendo of music and song, with all players involved. Miss
Brill s dreams of this were quickly shattered. The comments by the young people, Why does she come
here at all who wants her? Why doesn t she keep her silly mug at home? leaves Miss Brill with the
cold realization that she is in fact like the odd, old people that she watches in the

Property Crime And Property Crimes
A crime occurs when someone breaks the law by an overt act, omission or neglect that can result in
punishment. A person who has violated a law, or has breached a rule, is said to have committed a
criminal offense.
There are two main categories of crime: property crime and violent crime:
PROPERTY CRIMES
A property crime is committed when someone damages, destroys or steals someone else s property,
such as stealing a car or vandalizing a building.
Property crimes are by far the most commonly committed crime in the United States.
VIOLENT CRIMES
A violent crime occurs when someone harms, attempts to harm, threatens to harm or even conspires to
harm someone else. Violent crimes are offenses which involve force or threat of force, such as rape,
robbery or homicide.
Some crimes can be both property crimes and violent at the same time, for example carjacking
someone s vehicle at gunpoint or robbing a convenience store with a handgun.
OMISSION CAN BE A CRIME
But there are also crimes that are neither violent nor involve property damage. Running a stop sign is a
crime, because it puts the public in danger, even though no one is injured and no property is damaged.
If the law is not obeyed, there could be injury and damage.
Some crimes can involve no action at all, but rather inaction. Withholding medication or neglecting
someone who needs medical care or attention can be considered a crime.
If you know someone who is abusing a child and you do not report it, under some

Student Relationship With Student Relationships

Teacher Student Relationship
Considering that most students spend five to seven hours a day with their teacher for almost ten
months, it is safe to say that school is a big part of a student s day to day life (Urooj). Since students
spend most of their time in schools, it is import for them to have a positive relationship with their
teachers. A positive teacher student relationship is a relationship that has emotional support toward the
students, and has a positive effect on the student s outcomes ( Teacher Student Relationship ).
Teachers are the ones that spend the most time with students so it is very important that they influence
their students in a positive way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A social capital in a classroom setting is defined as having a caring teacher student relationship where
the students feel that they are both cared for and expected to succeed. Social capitals can work in
many different ways, it can reduce dropout rates by nearly half, help encourage the idea of going to
college and furthering their education, and provide support for their academic endeavors (Gallagher).
The simple task of just getting to know the students can have such a huge positive impact on the
student s social development. If a teacher really wants to create a positive relationship with their
students so they can further help their academic development, it would be wise for them to
communicate with their students. A key part of communication is actively listening to what the other is
saying. Actively listening, in regards to teachers and students, means that the teacher should not just
listen to what the students are saying but listen for the meaning behind it. This will develop a trust
between the teacher and the student and would help grow a positive relationship (Zakrzewski). When
a teacher actively listens to their students, they will become aware of any difficulties that they are
having. Since no student is perfect and knows everything, understanding a child s predicaments will
lead the teacher to have more patience with each individual in their respected area of conflict. Thus
making the student feel secure and less

Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and t Essay
Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and Techniques of Propaganda and Persuasion used by the Nazi
Government 1933 1939
Nothing is easier than leading the people on a leash. I just hold up a dazzling campaign poster and
they jump through it. (Goebbels, 1934). By the time Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in
1933, he already understood the power that propaganda could have on the masses; so quickly hired
Joseph Goebbels as Reich Minister of Propaganda to control the news, media and art in Germany.
Propaganda then grew to become a very strong and powerful tool for the Nazi party up to and
throughout the Second World War under Goebbels power. Propaganda is the use of, usually, biased or
misleading information within design, media, news ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The large sections of flat colour across the athlete s shirt and body suggest the use of woodblock
printing, relating back to the traditional Japanese style; that, and the use of the very traditional Fraktur
font, restrains the poster from looking too modern or un German. He has also positioned the athlete s
limbs to reflect a similar shape to a swastika, which is emphasised by her black shorts and the flag
behind her. This shows how the Nazi party had a strong power over everything that the public saw,
even to the subtle shapes created with a form.
Goebbels believed that if Hitler was to give speeches, the people should be able to hear him (History
Learning Site, 2013) so made sure radios were sold as cheaply as possible and public places such as
cafes and shops were ordered to broadcast Hitler s speeches so his voice and message could reach as
many people as possible, making it nearly impossible to not hear him. Because of how cheaply
wireless radios, or the People s Receiver as they were called, were sold for, between 1933 and 1939
the number of radio sets sold in Germany quadrupled. The designer Leonid created this image in
1936, which reads, All of Germany Listens to the Leader with the People s Receiver

as Celebration the town that Disney built.) The park is divided into two section future world and the

Executive Member Of A Local Union
Team Logan members certify that no one on this team is acquainted with, personally know, or have
had any prior contact with Ms. Siggard before this project. Explain your Choice of Company and
Industry and Provide a Summary of the Research You Conducted Prior to the Interview At the
beginning of this project, it was our intention to interview an executive member of a local Union to
gain the perspective of what unions face in modern society regarding membership and the benefits
they provide. We initially planned and scheduled our interview with an executive member of the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 354, Russ Lamoreaux. After being rescheduled
and dismissed multiple times, our team opted to find a different subject to interview who would be
more responsive and willing to provide us with helpful information to further our education. This
became an interesting lesson for us as a team and changed our perspective of unions because it was
difficult to get anyone to answer the phone, respond to emails, commit to a scheduled time, or even
just provide an honest answer if they wished not to participate. We wondered if this is how unions
regularly conduct business and how difficult or frustrating it must be as a member of management in
trying to negotiate with a union to come to an agreement if this is how they operate. Our connection
with Ms. Siggard was completely by accident and while we anticipated a different direction with this
assignment, she provided

C. Diff Research Paper
Infectious Diseases: Clostridium Difficile Colitis
Infectious Disease: Signs and Symptoms
Clostridium Difficile, or C. diff, is a common occurrence in hospitals. But how does one know that
they are in fact dealing with a patient with C. diff and not just diarrhea? It all lies in the symptoms. C.
diff diarrhea has a distinct odor. The patient also feels a constant urgency, a need to always go to the
restroom. The stool contains mucous. Beyond that, most patients will present with a low grade fever,
mild leukocytosis, hyperactive bowel sounds, and mild abdominal tenderness. (Headly, 461)
Causative Agents: Distinguishing Characteristics Clostridium difficile is both the name of the bacteria
and the illness. When referring to the illness, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The answer is that it cannot. Clostridium difficile cannot. However, the diarrhea from the C. diff can.
To prevent it, one must work backwards, returning to the transmission of the illness. The question is
then how is it passed on to other people? The answer is simple: lack of proper handwashing. By not
properly washing the hands, the method of transmission become the nurses hands. But that does not
necessarily account for the spores found in the bedsheets. In that, one has to realize that a patient with
diarrhea may or may not have Clostridium difficile colitis. When that is realized, great care should be
taken with the bedsheets of that individual, by taking care not to shake the sheets to prevent dispersal
through the air. The nurse must then once again follow proper handwashing procedures after disposal
of the dirty linens. Nothing can affect the flora to prevent all bouts of C. diff. That includes antibiotics,
the number one cause of Clostridium difficile. But because antibiotics are sometimes necessary for
survival, the patient must be encouraged to intake probiotics while on antibiotics. Similarly, if the
antibiotics are not needed, the patient should not be taking them. C. diff is a superbug, an illness that
antibiotics cannot help. And by purposely taking antibiotics for no need causes more problems than
the patient should want to deal

But through all that we still can t have a certain answer, it all depends on your own beliefs, be it religiously or morally. Mengzi claims that by nature humans are inherently good. The Impact of New Materials on Product Deisng in 20th and 21st Centuries As new materials are developed and processed, design technologists and people working with industrial materials must think how these new materials will affect the way in which they design and manufacture products. A wood based material such as chipboard is created by taking wood particles (flakes, chips and shavings) from all commercial timbers, bonded with synthetic phenolic resin. This type of wood is also a type of composite. Composite timber products have many advantages over ordinary timbers such as Oregon. They can utilise smaller dimensions of timber as the raw material, but can be manufactured to create large dimension composite beams and sheets, etc. Less timber overall is required to make products which are lighter and stronger than timber. Lower quantities and smaller sizes of timber means less pressure on native forest timber. Prices of imported timbers will continue to rise which will continue to make composites a more attractive proposition for builders and designers. The real disadvantage to manufactured wood based woods is the chemical fumes that it emits (M.D.F is a banned material in the U.S.A). Due to the resins used into making the wood once being cut at high speeds the dust can lead to intoxication of chemical fumes. The other major disadvantage is the non grain finish. The Great Awakening was a revival caused by Jonathon Edwards during the enlightenment time period. The purpose of this revival was to inspire communities to become more religiously involved as pastors were feeling distant from god because of the lack of interest in religion at the time. The Great Awakening undermined the Old Clergy and increased both the number and competiveness of churches. Thousands of books were published and sold to bring the churches profit and therefore allowed more money to aid in the churches construction. Socially, religion brought people together. People of the same religion often worked better together which resulted in a stronger and closer community. Schools were developed for children to learn to read the bible and to teach young men leadership. Socrates uses them as an example of gods that he believes in, but he refers to them as a separate entity later in this same speech. They are referred to as a voice that Socrates hears, not unlike a conscience, that turns me [Socrates] away from whatever I am about to do, but never turns me forward (Apology 31d). Socrates uses that as the reason why he never got into politics, as the majority rule is usually against his own code of morals (31d). Socrates is not exactly godless or immoral for he would not condemn a group of prisoners without trying them separately. His whole care is to commit no unjust or impious deed (32d). Socrates may have moral standards, but perhaps his followers would not. This leads into the charge that he corrupts the youth, for if Socrates can question the gods, they can too. On one page, a mascara ad promises thick and long lashes as a symmetrically faced woman holds the wand to her eyes. Her skin is pore less and she appears mechanical.. Turn the page and an actress/model stands with legs the circumference of an arm. She is modeling jeans, yet they are barely on her body. This kind of advertising does not end at the actual advertisements. The truth is that the magazine itself is an advertisement of its reader s inadequacy. Furthermore, the magazine as a whole serves as an advertisement to a woman s assumed lack of confidence. Almost every product featured in popular women s magazines is a paid placement. It s no secret that magazine publications are struggling as more consumers migrate to online platforms. Without subscriber funding, publications are forced to fund their company in various ways similar to how a person will work many jobs in order to pay rent. Paid promotional articles and features fill this gap created by declining subscribers. This makes all of the adverts and all of the articles about fat loss and shiny hair even more trivial and unsubstantial. This issue could be excused, but it remains hard to ignore considering how much lack of diversity factors into this nook of the publication world. Cosmopolitan s slogan is Fun. Fearless. The first known use of the word art was during the 13th century, making it quite a recent word, and it comes from the latin word ars meaning skill or craft. Through this, one might see that art is something that is created, such as a painting or sculpture. Be that as it may, art has evolved to fit many definitions, and definitions are simply the opinions, widespread as they are, of those that wrote the dictionaries that many follow to this day. It is my belief that art is more than a creation made by one, but an experience, or an emotion felt when seeing or hearing the creation. To begin, many people respond differently to different types of art. This is because artists allow for the viewer to judge what they see for themselves rather than force one idea onto the masses. By this I mean the narrator has a great insight into Miss Brill s perceptions, thoughts, feelings, and into her world as a whole, but no real insight into any of the other characters in this story. By using this point of view, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The details as told, seem to be coming directly from Miss Brill at times. The narrator gets us settled into the park with Miss Brill and tells us that she sees those around her as odd, silent, nearly all old, and from the way they stared they looked as though they d just come from dark little rooms or even even cupboards! This tells me that Miss Brill sees herself differently than she sees others, not odd or funny. She is a part of all this life and activity at the park! An actor in the grand play and somebody would have noticed if she hadn t been there. She really loved to be out with others and thought that she was very much a part of the world and not apart from it. Don t we all feel this way? Some people are truly introverted and care little of interacting, but I think the majority of us strive to become part of the world and at times feel like this life is one big drama and we have a big part. Our role might only be important for one scene, but we feel like the leading man or woman at times. The narrator leads us to what appears to be a fitting climax; a crescendo of music and song, with all players involved. Miss Brill s dreams of this were quickly shattered. The comments by the young people, Why does she come here at all who wants her? Why doesn t she keep her silly mug at home? leaves Miss Brill with the cold realization that she is in fact like the odd, old people that she watches in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and t Essay Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and Techniques of Propaganda and Persuasion used by the Nazi Government 1933 1939 Nothing is easier than leading the people on a leash. I just hold up a dazzling campaign poster and they jump through it. (Goebbels, 1934). By the time Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, he already understood the power that propaganda could have on the masses; so quickly hired Joseph Goebbels as Reich Minister of Propaganda to control the news, media and art in Germany. Propaganda then grew to become a very strong and powerful tool for the Nazi party up to and throughout the Second World War under Goebbels power. The large sections of flat colour across the athlete s shirt and body suggest the use of woodblock printing, relating back to the traditional Japanese style; that, and the use of the very traditional Fraktur font, restrains the poster from looking too modern or un German. He has also positioned the athlete s limbs to reflect a similar shape to a swastika, which is emphasised by her black shorts and the flag behind her. This shows how the Nazi party had a strong power over everything that the public saw, even to the subtle shapes created with a form. Goebbels believed that if Hitler was to give speeches, the people should be able to hear him (History Learning Site, 2013) so made sure radios were sold as cheaply as possible and public places such as cafes and shops were ordered to broadcast Hitler s speeches so his voice and message could reach as many people as possible, making it nearly impossible to not hear him. Because of how cheaply wireless radios, or the People s Receiver as they were called, were sold for, between 1933 and 1939 the number of radio sets sold in Germany quadrupled. The designer Leonid created this image in 1936, which reads, All of Germany Listens to the Leader with the People s Receiver ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Explain your Choice of Company and Industry and Provide a Summary of the Research You Conducted Prior to the Interview At the beginning of this project, it was our intention to interview an executive member of a local Union to gain the perspective of what unions face in modern society regarding membership and the benefits they provide. We initially planned and scheduled our interview with an executive member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 354, Russ Lamoreaux. After being rescheduled and dismissed multiple times, our team opted to find a different subject to interview who would be more responsive and willing to provide us with helpful information to further our education. This became an interesting lesson for us as a team and changed our perspective of unions because it was difficult to get anyone to answer the phone, respond to emails, commit to a scheduled time, or even just provide an honest answer if they wished not to participate. We wondered if this is how unions regularly conduct business and how difficult or frustrating it must be as a member of management in trying to negotiate with a union to come to an agreement if this is how they operate. Our connection with Ms. Siggard was completely by accident and while we anticipated a different direction with this assignment, she provided ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But how does one know that they are in fact dealing with a patient with C. diff and not just diarrhea? It all lies in the symptoms. C. diff diarrhea has a distinct odor. The patient also feels a constant urgency, a need to always go to the restroom. The stool contains mucous. Beyond that, most patients will present with a low grade fever, mild leukocytosis, hyperactive bowel sounds, and mild abdominal tenderness. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The answer is that it cannot. Clostridium difficile cannot. However, the diarrhea from the C. diff can. To prevent it, one must work backwards, returning to the transmission of the illness. The question is then how is it passed on to other people? The answer is simple: lack of proper handwashing. By not properly washing the hands, the method of transmission become the nurses hands. But that does not necessarily account for the spores found in the bedsheets. In that, one has to realize that a patient with diarrhea may or may not have Clostridium difficile colitis. When that is realized, great care should be taken with the bedsheets of that individual, by taking care not to shake the sheets to prevent dispersal through the air. The nurse must then once again follow proper handwashing procedures after disposal of the dirty linens. Nothing can affect the flora to prevent all bouts of C. diff. That includes antibiotics, the number one cause of Clostridium difficile. But because antibiotics are sometimes necessary for survival, the patient must be encouraged to intake probiotics while on antibiotics. Similarly, if the antibiotics are not needed, the patient should not be taking them. C. diff is a superbug, an illness that antibiotics cannot help. And by purposely taking antibiotics for no need causes more problems than the patient should want to deal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
